We visited the cellar door and were greeted by a lovely lady that took us through the wines, loved the wines, so could not resist some purchases. chardonnay was delicious. The views from this winery restaurant were outstanding. The weather was sunny and the pizza was delicious. Only issue is that we had to move inside the marque to eat as the wasps would not leave our food alone!

Awesome location with the most amazing panoramic views. Standard fare such as pizzas, pasta, burger, fish and chips, thai beef salad and seafood (not fine dining) but meals were done well and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Pizzas were tasty with crispy bases. Service was good but informal, no issue getting a table without a reservation (lunchtime on a weekday) and drinks and meals served reasonably quickly. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Wine tasting for $7pp was reasonable. Friendly and informative wine assistant. Recommended. Lunch was divine. $45 shared bbq platter was huge ,garlic pizza bread yummy. Views amazing. Staff and lack of service really let the estate down in the restaurant. Had to ask for service. Ask twice for water. No cutlery or serviettes offered. We nabbed from a neighbouring table. There seemed to be quite a few staff on for about 3 tables of people on a lazy afternoon so wasn't busy. A shame. Owners / manager needs to invest in training good old fashioned kiwi hospitality and service. Covid no excuse. Grounds looking tired as well

Enjoyed a wine tasting (very nice Rose and syrah) and a tasty lunch. Our waitress (didnt havd a name tag but was a young maori woman) was friendly, professional and helpful. Service was very prompt and we shared a medium meat platter - what a large tasty treat and finished with a shared icecream sundae - and of course a couple of glasses of wine. As it was too windy to dine outside on the lawn so we sat in the marquee that opened to the view. Would definitely recommend visiting here!!

Our first challenge came in booking the winery cafe, I emailed in the morning to book lunch that day and was told they do not take same day reservations. Despite that we phoned up and were given a booking for lunch that day. The lady did say it was windy so not an ideal experience but we had no idea what we were in for. The major positive is that the view is amazing. You are elevated and look out along the vines and then go to sea. Spectacular. However the outdoor seating is mostly in a marque. In the strong winds it sounded like the marque would take off at any moment. It had metal poles bolted down so if anything came loose it would be dangerous. Nothing happened but the incredible noise of banging can s and metal meant I was on edge. My never get worried partner did point out if anything happened we needed to get out quick. I've never had to make a evacuation plan for eating at a winery before. I was quite on edge and so we rushed lunch. The flight of wines for $15 was interesting to try four different types. When I asked to order a glass of one I had tasted I was told I had to walk over to the bar area and order it myself. I said that was a challenge in my floaty skirt with the gales. So I didn't get a wine and they forgot to bring my partners beer. The food was just 'okay'. At the end of our meal we queued to pay it took an incredibly long time to wait to be served to pay despite multi staff at the bar. The maitre de was very good but some staff are young and just learning. This place has fabulous potential - on a sunny day.

Two visits in the past month and have to say the service has returned to being slightly better than dreadful. On first visit one hour wait from when first food was served to half the table until the rest of the food arrived. On second visit food was served altogether and quickly. But just lacks finesse and staff don’t have proper training. I cringed when I saw tourists arriving and experiencing the third rate service. Out of all the winery venues in the country - this one should be outstanding, and not just bank on the views - which are incredible. Lift your game. Make this place reach its proper potential, or sell it and let someone else do it properly!

Booking was made but on arrival reservation could not be found. We were however seated. They didn’t bring out enough cutlery or water. They had no beef in stock and no gluten free options available. Only two types of beers were available. Majority of the food came out cold. Oysters were served warm and therefore returned and taken off the bill. Will definitely never come back

Our third visit here, first this year.
It was poor sadly (as per last visit a year ago).
The staff are not friendly, the food is often ran out, the menu limited.
You can’t go past here for a stunning view and a great spot to relax and watch the sh sunset, but don’t expect amazing food.

Where to start?! On the plus side, lovely wine, wonderful wine service at the cellar door, and a great view! So much could be made of this place, if not for the woeful food. What a shame and a massive let down. Chalky calamari, a doughy undercooked and frankly awful pizza that a five year old could have made better. So much potential, yet so underwhelming. The staff are trying but the management are not providing quality food and pride in whats on offer. If you want quantity, go for it - if you want an edible meal, don't bother.

Lunch with friends. Two ordered fish and chips which had to be sent back as the fish was raw in the middle. The table next to us had the same complaint. When the fish and chips were returned to the table, the fish had been reheated and was burnt as per the attached photo. We sat outside in a marquee as we were told they didn’t have any tables or seating inside. Very windy and cold. Acoustics were terrible as we had difficulty with conversations. Prices were to be expected as the view was stunning. One piece of fish and plain salad with fries $25.

Heard alot about the food and about the property. Felt disappointed not with the front of house but the management who does the ordering. We were a table of 5 that dined at 730pm on a Friday night.
A simple menu which had no ice to make cocktails, no chicken in the entree, no porterhouse steak and no key lime dessert all of which one guest wanted. The waitress was embarrassed but the issue was not hers but that of the chefs and bar manager to get the stock levels right.

Our family of four arrived with great expectations of the cafe and cellar but were bitterly disappointed. The menu looked amazing and the wine offering limited which is odd for a a vineyard. Acknowledging the place was busy, it was clear they were understaffed and had very few processes in place to cope with the number of guests. We waited 25 minutes at our table crammed under one umbrella with only water and one menu between us. We eventually walked out without even ordering having been roundly ignored by staff when we were seated and despite standing politely near the bar to catch the staffs’ attention. Only saw 2 tables get food in the time we sat there and assumed they had been waiting for some time. Wouldn’t recommend and would suggest they sort out some better systems to cope with the busy summer season. Super disappointing given the magical day we had up the peninsula at the glorious beaches.

We were delighted to find the winery open for lunch from 11.30am. We were greeted warmly..with masks on..and chose a table overlooking the view to the sea. An umbrella was provided for sun shade as it was a beautiful sunny day. A menu with lots of lunchtime choice. Platters or light meals. A conundrum. Usually we have had a platter but this time choose 2 light meals to share. No regrets. Prawn and ginger dumplings with Asian Slaw and Crispy Calamari with summer greens salad. Absolutely superb. Best calamari we have had. Tender and crunchy. We also had a plate of fries..but not ordinary fries..but mashed potato fries. Melt in the mouth and so yummy. So with the view, wonderful food and drink, and good service, we were very happy and pleased that this asset to dining in the region is surviving in these difficult times. Will be back next summer

We booked and preordered our food and our food arrived in a timely manner. It tasted INCREDIBLE! The winery is especially busy at this time of year so I was impressed with the patience and resilience of the floor manager and her staff. Well done 👏.

Went for lunch with Son, Daughter-in-law and 12 month baby.
Beautiful setting, fabulous food, great wine sampling, friendly, happy employees who knew their stuff and made us feel very welcome.
Considering the venue for a family function. Will return again next month. Thank you for a great experience
