My husband and I had a beautiful meal. I had the fillet steak cooked to perfection and my husband enjoyed the snapper. The side dish of vegetables was generous. There is a salad bar included with your main course order if you wish. The staff...were friendly and attentive,More

Food was quite tasty and service was excellent. It is on the pricier side but for a nice restaurant to eat out at with family, this is great.

We arrived in town and were hungry - Beachcomber caught our eye and we decided to enter. Staff here cannot be faulted - they provided a welcome beyond expectation and that didn't end. Salad bar was a surprise...plenty of great salad options. Vege lasagne appeared...to be one of the few 'hot vegetarian' options so I ordered that and was delighted. Beef burger meal also was reported as being good. Snickers Cheesecake was amazing and the best thing was I didn't have to yell across the table or try to talk above the music. Will totally recommend to anyone passing through Kaitaia. Being from Auckland you can almost forget experiences like this - spacious dining, enthusiastic staff and being surrounded by families with children who can deal with social dining without a mobile device to stare at. Great kiwi family dining option - even great for couples - Recommended.More

We hadn’t made a reservation but thought we would chance it, on pulling up in the car park 3 tables each with 2 customers were occupied, the rest of the restaurant was empty. Upon entry we were asked if we had a reservation, we said...no and were initially told all the tables of 2 were taken and we could have a drink in the bar if we wanted to. My wife and I looked at each other slightly confused as there were at least a dozen empty unbooked tables, we were then told we could sit at a table of 4 if we wished. The following 3 groups were all couples with unbooked tables so luckily they worked out how to accomodate everyone. The salad bar has a few good items and was fresh. The main meals however were underwhelming and dry, well over cooked chicken and soggy fries in what appeared to be tinned apricots.More

It is a delight to find presentable, tasty food and indeed, Beachcomber has earnt itself quite the reputation for offering both services. Staff service are mostly pleasant, friendly and approachable. My concern however, is the treatment of staff in front of customers. That, in my...opinion is a huge disservice not only to staff, but customers too. Regardless of who the staff member is, be it owner, manager or general staff member, no individual should be mistreated in their workplace and so openly in front of customers. Surely staff have the knowledge or common sense to treat other people with the courtesy and respect that they deserve? This behaviour is unacceptable and I would seek legal counsel on the matter. Please rectify this issue asap as I will no doubt visit your restaurant again purposefully to discern the mistreatment of staff has indeed changed. Make it happen.More

What a pleasure to find such a good restaurant across the road frpm our motel. Menu to suit most appetites and i am eating Keto and found several meals that i could swap out the carbs especially when there was an amazing salad bar to...load my plate with. Service very nice friendly and an average wait for our meals. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was busy on thursday evening locals and visitors.More

The food was tasteless, edible, but horrible. And yet, at a premium. Stay away. Unless these guys do something amazing soon, there could be no way any customer would consider returning here.

After reading other reviews we visited but were very disappointed. Presentation was average, servings small (shrimp cocktail had the fewest shrimps I've ever had) and the main was just average. Maybe we struxk a bad night...I certainly hope so! However staff were friendly, the sine...very nice and water in table without having to ask. Left without dessert as we found it pricey enough for what was delivered.More

Can highly recommend this place. I had the crumbbed brie for a starter and the sauce was amazing. My wife had a shrimp cocktail which she said was double thumbs up. Mains for me was pan fried fishπŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹. My wife had the chicken which was...well cook, still moist. Also there is the best salad bar i have seen. So much to chose from. SO no room for dessert. My brother can highly recommend the paua pie. Staff are very friendly and helpfulπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.More
