This little takaways is still up and running at the houhora heads water front. Same people, menu, place ect. It may open seasonally but I am not sure. They cater to visitors and the buses pop in frequently. Be mindful that even if you place...More

This has a great little setting with great views of the ocean. We only visited as a lunch stop off on a coach trip to the top of NZ. We were therefore limited to fish & chips which they prepare for all coach visits. This...More

We were staying in Ahipara at the most beautiful motel and decided to go for a drive to see some of the surrounding areas. Ended up at Houhora and enjoyed the most beautiful lunch of savoury muffins and coffee.

We stopped in for a look and morning tea. Everything was so good that we lounged around until lunchtime. The seating under the trees next to the water made the morning idyllic. All the food was fresh and well presented. I could see the staff...More

This restaurant has only been open since late 2015. Refurbished and in an great setting but the service or lack of it when we visited was defiantly sub stranded. (Don't go when a bus is expected) even if you arrive first.

Such a shame that this restaurant is more interested in serving the customers who arrived in a bus from a tour AFTER us - than actually serving us before they came in. Stood at the counter waiting to order (there were 3 of us) -...More

Hi Thanks so much for your feedback. It was great to have you visit us. Yes the summer hours were a bit of a trial area for us. We will look to lengthen the hours next summer. Kind regards

A little too expensive, however in a good location the food was bland and also the hours were not suitable especially being in a campground

Thanks for the review. Sorry that the food was not up to your expectations. We actually operate separately to the camp grounds and we are generally a daytime cafe. We may look at extending our hours for the next summer. Kind regards

Great nachos and The Hub has a great spot on the waterfront at Houhora harbour in the old Wagener Museum! Lots of inside and outside tables, service was a but slow but they were packed at lunchtime with a full caravan park!

Thanks for visiting us and your comments. It has been a crazy summer but lots of fun. Yes definitely planning for the year with staffing to speed things up. Regards

Good location for a nice meal of fish and chips and other meals if you wish. Can be either take away of sit down.
