Been here a few times, meeting with friends or family. It’s a really lovely easy vibe in Eat17 and when ordering from The Sourdough Toaster nothing is too much trouble. The food is presented so beautifully, sometimes with delicate edible flowers, herbs or a drizzle of something to make it extra tasty! Food is always fresh, good quality, hot and tastes delicious. I’ve now had a variety of their dishes. Great for vegetarians and vegans too as they are catered for. Plus - dogs are welcome and get doggy treats too! 🐶

Found myself in Bishop’s Stortford this morning and in need of a good breakfast. Wandered up and down the high street and most places were either closed or looked pretty dismal! Eventually saw a menu for Sourdough Toaster, which can be found inside Eat17 and a young guy asked me if I was looking for the best breakfast in town! Had enough walking by then so decided to go for it! So pleased I did - nice menu and a superb freshly cooked breakfast. The sourdough is really good and worth a visit on its own! Colin was very personable and made my time for breakfast a pleasure. Looking for Bishop’s Stortfords best breakfast? I found it for sure and will be back. Thank you.

First time we tried breakfast at Sourdough Toaster in Eat 17 yesterday, but it definitely won't be the last time!! I had GF toast with smashed avocado, chili jam, rocket and grilled halloumi, while my husband had a full 'English' breakfast. The dishes were so different but both were delicious. Gluten Free offerings (always so difficult in chain eateries) are a natural part of their menu and they cater for other allergies too. The service was excellent and a great deal of attention and care is taken with all aspects of the menu. Bishops Stortford is lucky to have such an inventive and caring eatery on their doorstep and we will definitely be back (even though we do not live locally!

My partner and I visited here on Wednesday with our newborn and dog (handy that it’s dog friendly too) we was greeted by a very polite lady at the front desk and seated, menus was brought over and drinks orders taken by another very polite member of staff. The coffee was fantastic too which was just the start of a amazing meal. The wait time was around 10-15 minutes which is to be expected at lunchtime. I had the eggs on toast with sausage beans and bacon which I can safely say was the best breakfast I’ve had in stortford and to be honest most place in Essex Will 100% be coming back again, fantastic food, drinks and staff

Visited with my best friend and we only visited because of it's name and after a brief glimpse at the menu, we decided to try it out. It was a fleeting visit as we're both busy people, we had exactly an hour and a half to meet, eat and leave. The Toaster allowed that to happen - with great food and service to boot. We both had toast, poached eggs, bacon and a huge fat sausage that I still dream about. The waiter, who I think was also the manger, was very obliging when it came to catering for my allergies and it was the first cafe I've been to where they offered a vegan spread that didn't contain coconut oil, so yay! Food was amazing and like I said, still dream about it. A bit pricey but as this was a special occasion, didn't mind paying and it was all worth it. Zero complains. Will return.

Located inside E17 I had a great breakfast. Two slices of sourdough toast topped with lots of smashed avocado, two perfectly cooked poached eggs, streaky bacon and garnish. Very friendly staff make you welcome and provide a fast service. I can’t fault it. My daughter opted for a vegetarian full English which looked delightful and she thoroughly enjoyed. I shall be going back as soon as I can.

The cooked breakfast is to die for! I can honestly say I’ve never had a better breakfast! So many options to choose from and the freshly squeezed orange juice is so refreshing. Colin and Charlottes hospitality is 10/10 and you are always welcomed with a warm smile and top service. Not only is the food delicious but it’s definitely instagramable!!

This was a first visit for my wife and I, and we may well have found our new favourite eating venue in Bishop's Stortford. All staff interactions were friendly and professional throughout..... effortlessly adapting the menu for vegetarianism and dairy intolerance. We both enjoyed hearty breakfasts and coffees, including a lovely decaf cappuccino with oat milk and dairy-free chocolate dusting. All of the breakfast ingredients were of a very high quality, locally sourced and expertly cooked. We couldn't recommend The Toaster more highly.

Decided to have breakfast here before doing some shopping in town. Really, really enjoyed it! The food was delicious, perfect Poached eggs. The staff were helpful and friendly - I asked if they used British Lion Eggs (as I am pregnant) and they were able to confirm this. Really recommend this place, we look forward to going back.

Since opening in July I have lost count the amount of times I’ve eaten here. Probably the best place I have ever had breakfast in Bishops Stortford. I’ve just about tried everything on the menu and not once has it disappointed. Freshly made food with AMAZING ingredients!! And Colin the owner is such a lovely guy and really is passionate about what he does. Would 100% recommend anyone to eat here!

We never actually got to eat here. I sent a message to The Sourdough Toaster explaining that we were planning a visit but that one of our group was a coeliac. They replied saying that they had gluten-free options but that the same toaster was used so they could not rule out cross contamination, which was appreciated. When we went to order, this was explained and my sister in law who coeliac asked if she could have the breakfast minus the toast and was told incredibly rudely by the gentleman behind the counter that this could not be done. We’re not sure why! The guy was pretty rude and my sister in law was left feeling pretty embarrassed as this was done in front of other customers and her young daughter. There was also a 40 minute wait for food so we ended up leaving. This was our first visit and sadly we won’t be trying again. People shouldn’t be made to feel embarrassed for having allergies or intolerances. Maybe something to work on :)

Nice small menu very well done! I had lovely breakfast, which came with heritage vine tomatoes, garlic mushrooms, beautiful sausage & bacon served with amazing earl grey leaf tea. My wife had smashed Avocado on toast poached eggs, bacon with chilli which looked as good as it tasted again with breakfast leaf tea. Service was spot on and you can see everyone took pride in their job. Well done for making our visits a great one

We came across The Toaster whilst staying at the overnight escape room and had a look. It was busy but they managed to fit us in. The coffee and tea came first proper tea leaves and amazing coffee along with a piece of shortcake. We ordered the meaty one breakfast and wasn't disappointed it was perfect especially the rosemary hash browns along with the sourdough toast I had.

This is an amazing place for breakfast or brunch! And you can get it all day! The guy who runs it is SO lovely and sometimes gives us extra eggs or hash browns. The food is gorgeous - lovely creamy scrambled eggs. I’ve taken my parents there, I take my daughters, meet friends there. In fact my husband and I are about to go again on this miserable Saturday morning. Highly recommend! And Eat 17 as a place has a great vibe. Go The sourdough Toaster! 😀👍🏻

Amazing brunch, lovely avo halloumi toast and coffee. My partner had the full English which was great too. We brought our dog along who was warmly welcomed with dog treats and a water bowl. Highly recommend
