My husband and I just had 80 Thoreau’s special Valentine dinner (take-home version). It was fabulous!! It was one of the best meals I have ever had, and we just set it up at home. Amazing! We got the Oysters Gratin in Bechamel Sauce to...start, which was succulent. Then had Chevre Panna Cotta salad with blood oranges and pomegranate seeds. Each bite was better than the last, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The mushroom consommé with black truffle and duck quenelles was rich without being heavy. The Crab Risotto with lobster broth was so flavorful, then the grilled beef with a lovely clear sauce was good, but the braised beef phyllo turnovers were spectacular! I could make a whole meal of them! There was a sunchoke puree and a salad garnish, which all contributed to a memorable main course. Then a dark chocolate pave with raspberry sauce and little chunks of honeycomb was the perfect ending. There was very little preparation, and I was truly amazed at how well the whole meal translated to home preparation. They have really outdone themselves. I can hardly wait to eat there again in person. They are artists!More

We celebrated our son's graduation with a dinner at 80 Thoreau. Our first dinner out after the COVID19 lockdown. They did everything to make things comfortable for us. The food was excellent. The drinks were excellent. Although the dinner was timed, we were but rushed...at all. It was a pleasure to be out and enjoying great food and drinksMore

This felt like a safe place to get back into restaurant dining after Covid lock down Patio seating is euphemism for seating on old train depot frontage Spaciousness and service a plus A few flowers and staging could soften the “platform feel” The food is...outstanding and not Boston prices Dessert menu is weak but cheese board makes up for it! Great service and menu plus super fresh ingredients make this a special spotMore

I went there because I saw they had a really good burger in Boston Magazine. However, when I requested one they said they were out. So I ordered the salmon instead. The salmon was really dry and sitting on top of a pile of white...beans that were already cold. What's worse was that even though they were supposedly "out of the burger", they started giving it out to other customers. I tried to go again because I believed I should give them a second chance. Unfortunately, when I ordered the burger, the same exact thing happened again. Another customer said it happened to them too. It's not really the fact I didn't get a burger that bothered me, it was more that they favor some customers over others. I don't know if it's just favoring regulars or racism but it just makes me not want to return. The drinks were also pretty good but had to much ice to be worth the cost. All in all, the food was way overpriced for how dry it was. I would not recommend.More

While this upscale, pricy restaurant is great for special occasions, consider eating a burger at the bar. Plump, juicy burger cooked to your preference. Great fries, and good beer selection. Plus you dont need reservations.

Excellent food. Limited menu. Lamb was very good, salmon was perfect Hake fish was perfect. Friendly staff. Prices are fair. Would come back surely.

We have been to 80 Thoreau in the past. It is always a delight to dine here! Our meals were well prepared and wonderfully presented. Ingredients were fresh. The noise level was low and allowed for pleasant conversation. Service was attentive. We will definitely return...to 80 Thoreau when travel brings us to the Concord area again.More

I have to admit, i had heard great raves about this place. So, i figured i would take my parents and family, instead of some other spot as they are true food snobs. We ordered drinks and appetizers which we all raved about.. We then...waited for what seemed to be an eternity for our dinners. when it came out, i can honestly say, that the fish dishes were greasy and terrible- ie: a small piece of salmon- and every meal, with the exception of the meat dishes, seemed to be microwaved or sat for too long, to ensure it coming out warm. the main courses were such a disappointment. then, after dessert and coffee- which were fine- the bill came and it was over $400...for that much money, i would have rather stayed home as our meals were nothing special- appetizers excluded. perhaps, we should have stopped there- rumor has it that their bar menu is better and way cheaper. don't get me wrong, we can afford the meal but there are so many better places to have burned that much cash and all of us were truly disappointed. the old saying 'you get what you pay for' is not utilized here.More

This is arguably the best restaurant in Concord. Menu varies with season, but usually has adventurous options.

The chef and team put out delicious dinners. Everything is made from fresh organic food. The dinner combination are creative and everything goes together very nicely. No one rushes you. We went early and it was very peaceful. If you have not been to this...restaurant at the Concord train station it is well with a try.More

Best to call the restaurant directly for an answer. I'm certain they can accommodate groups, but only the restaurant can determine size and if the night you're interested in is available for a large group reservation. You... More
