Delicious & safe! Visited the Main Street Cafe in downtown Concord this afternoon for a very late lunch. The cafe staff, Jennifer and Tainee and other staff members were very warm and welcoming as well as very attentive to all our need throughout our meal. We were impressed with the set up of social distancing tables and plexiglass partitions. While we ate the staff continuously sanitized tables, work surfaces, etc. immediately after a customer left their table or the counter to pick up take-out or bought bakery treats. FOOD: Delicious! We ordered the Harvest Bowl and Pho Noodle bowl, which made great lunch or dinner on this cold and snowy day. Anxious to return soon! Thanks so much Main Street!

Had a lovely brunch in the lower level which was quieter an more private. The açaí smoothie bowl was excellent, and my daughter loved the breakfast burrito with the added Beyond Meat sausage. Staff was very attentive and accommodating to our requests. Looking forward to another visit to this charming place.

Traveling home from a weekend trip we decided to stop here — a popular local spot that we've been to many times. Only a few customers; we waited and waited to be seated while staff chatted with other customers and generally ignored us. After finally sitting we waited and waited again, while staff walked around, finding things to do to avoid serving customers. We began to worry about our meter running out and were about to leave when our order was taken. Food came pretty quickly but mine was inexplicably cold. Will think twice about eating here again.

The food was absolutely disgusting! Child had chicken tenders that were all gristle and french fries that were soggy. I ordered "Yankee pot roast": when it arrived it was two thick slabs of burnt, fried mystery meat, raw on the inside, sitting in a puddle of grease. Even the water tasted skanky! The waitress was barely civil, and brought back another serving of food (with the same long wait as for the first) which at least cooked, but likewise burnt and greasy. No apology. Avoid at all costs!!!!

My wife and I stopped in on Sunday morning for breakfast and luckily, did not have to wait for a table. The Café offers takeout as well as table service. My wife and I both ordered the French toast with bananas. I had a side of sausage and she had a side fruit salad. The French toast consisted of 4 thin slices of bread. Not your standard American bread. My side of sausage was three links. It appeared our French toast was served with real maple syrup and the not the thick sugary corn syrup. The fruit salad was fresh. We were both very satisfied with our meals. The prices were very fair and the service was very good and friendly. There was street parking and a parking lot in the area. Folks, lets remember we are coming out of pandemic where millions of people lost their lives, and businesses closed permanently. I mention this because we sat next to two abusive, pompous, and nasty senior citizens who gave their waitress (who was also ours) a very difficult time because their pancakes were too big and he wanted smaller ones. That's right folks! He sent them back. I salute that waitress for her calm demeanor and professionalism.

I’ve been here several times now with friends and family and the place is usually packed with patient folks who unfortunately tend to sit on top of one another. The food is consistently average, although the waffles and pancakes are great for kids and the salads are large. Food is made fresh and the ingredients similar. The servers are great, the place is clean and Decent, overall, compared to the other choices, i.e.. Across the street, this spot will always win out. They also have pretty good baked goods to try out and/or take home.

We were staying in Concord for one night. It was our first time in Mass. and we were looking forward to having New England Clam Chowder. We were not dissapointed. The Chowder was very good and their Fish & Chips really satisfied my taste. The service was good and we loved the atmosphere. highly recommend

In for lunch after the Holiday Homes tour on the 1st Saturday in December and the place was packed and after 15 minutes seats opened at the bar. Though it was extremely crowded the staff was very friendly and effective in keeping things moving, service etc. Our clam chowder was about as good as we had ever had, with a rich full taste, full of clams and almost like there was a touch of oyster stew in it. The cornbread was perfect, slightly salty and sweet. We liked the cool little curved bar in the back, the Guiness draft was nice and cold, but $9? a little high. This place has a great hustle and bustle atmosphere, the building has great character and nice outside dining along the alleyway. The bakery items looked fantastic. Look forward to a return trip the next time we are visiting Concord.

Busy fall weekend. 15 min wait at 1pm to be seated indoors. No wait to sit at the bar. No wait to place a takeout order and eat that at one of the outdoor tables in the adorable side alley that runs to the back of the building. 15 to 20 min wait for one of the three outdoor alley tables with wait staff service located near the main street. Exterior is CLASSIC quaint New England village warmth with wooden benches out front. Inside is warm, cozy, bustling, and decorated with a historic yet lively and slightly hip cafe vibe. So many artfully chalked menu boards and specials and smoothies and specialty sodas and gorgeous baked goods that you won't know where to look. Get anything from a fresh maple walnut donut and coffee to a full entree or an amazingly fresh sandwich. Tons of choices. Really enjoyed this and will go back.

We came here on a family vacation. This was the most disappointing meal we had on the vacation. Nothing was worth the price. I had a Rueben, and the flavor of the meat was nonexistent. How do you have corned beef that has no flavor. I did not like the type of sides they offered with it. All of the sides seemed cheap. I got tots and they were just lousy. I offered them to my teen aged grandsons, and they tried them and even they did not like them. It was lousy for the price. Also the guy that waited on us was abrupt and almost rude. The portions are small.

We had breakfast at Main Streets and it was abundant! My omelette was chock full of fillings - mushroom, onion, and broccoli - and delicious. It came with fruit and an English muffin - a tasty, bountiful breakfast. My husband had the eggs benedict which unfortunately arrived cold. We liked the decor and the historic building....and would've loved everything about it if the food had come hot to the table.

I ordered dinner at the Main Streets Market & Cafe in April 2022. It was located not far from Monument Square. The restaurant was crowded so I decided to order takeout. I ordered a chopped salad - kale, Brussel sprouts, carrots, tomatoes, seeds, cranberries, poppy seed dressing. I also ordered cornbread. It took a while for my order to come. Their was a man playing music on a guitar. I paid my bill and ate the salad and corn bread back at my hotel. The food was delicious.

Lunch was crowded. They put us downstairs and it was a small isolated indoor area with a kitchen and a few barstools. The food was average but our waitress was friendly. What was most disappointing was: 1. two kitchen workers ate their meals the same time as us and right near us. One slightly to our side, the other right next to us at the bar. This is bad form. Always separate staff from customers when eating and don’t let them eat at the same time. Especially right at lunchtime. 2. we were sent to this basement-like area and waited 20 minutes before the waitress noticed us. Bad customer service. 3. We had a group of 3 total of which 2 Asians. There were 2 other Asian ladies in the basement zone as us. All other diners upstairs (maybe 75 people) were “I think” but I can’t swear non-Asian. I hope I’m just imagining things. Finally and 4), the manager seemed over-worked and said she would talk to the kitchen. She agreed that staff should not dine at the same time and near customers. That said, she wasn’t apologetic and way too matter of fact. We were very disappointed in the overall experience. And other than the tater tots. all else was average in taste. $85 for 3 people for a basic lunch and to be treated like this?

We selected this restaurant for it's menu and casual appearance based on our long day of traveling for which we were still dressed. The restaurant was very empty. The waitress/hostess was not all that friendly and the first few things we asked for were not available even though they were on the menu (i.e. Switchback beer) and the fried calamari which was up on the chalkboard but "no longer on the current menu". Our two menus didn't even match - one was the updated and the other not, apparently. I ordered the lobster roll and it was WAY overcooked - so dry and sad. In our entire trip it was the worst prepared lobster we had. Very disappointing expensive experience - below average on all accounts. (Bill was $120 for dinner for two with two drinks).
