Ok Pho - Very Big Portions

We had chance to have dinner at Pho 88 during a recent stop to Lowell. We are fans of pho, and have had it at many different places, including Vietnam. The was pretty good. Maybe not the best we've had, but a huge bowl of soup. Bit pricey. But a nice restaurant in a nice location in Lowell. Good place to try out.

We went with a couple who has family in Viet Nam. The menu is so extensive that we had them order for us. the Pho and Fish sweet and sour coup were beyond good. I could eat a whole plate os the Spring rolls they were so good. Also the spicy edamame is excellent. We will come back very soon.

Love the food, atmosphere, region-accurate drink menu. Staff is always friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience here and it’s my go-to for anything southeast Asian.

Got really expensive

The Pho here is pretty good, but man the prices have gotten crazy. I remember when you could get an XL bowl for $11 before tips and such. Now it's $18. Geez... Tea here is so watered down too, and they charge for this dishwater-tasting tea that's so weak. Their bird's nest crispy noodle dish is still good though.

Make Me feel discriminated against

The food is pretty good but every time I go there after business hours for takeout I feel like I'm putting them out. As the Asian population comes and goes, they seem very nice to them. It happens everytime I go there.

Largest bowl of Pho, Ever!

Holy smokes! Drove from Manchester NH to try this quaint, clean, authentic restaurant. I was literally blown away when I received my large bowl of brisket pho. Topped with onion. Green onion, cilantro, bean sprouts, thai basil, and lime. I probably could have eaten just half but, I ate the whole thing! I was a little sweaty after- I like it spicy... but I wasnt uncomfortable. My large bowl of pho was only $10.50!! Go!! You will be psyched you did.

Great Pho!

We recently visited Pho 88 after finding it on Trip Advisor. As we had never tried it we relied on the server for advice. She was great, recommending different dishes and answering our questions. We started with spring rolls & popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was awesome. We also each had a bowl of Pho, again awesome. The servings were very large, can't imagine how much is in one of the "large" servings. Prices were extremely reasonable, restaurant is cute inside, and location is convenient with plenty of parking. We will absolutely be back!

Want some Vietnamese noodle soup/pho

I love pho 88. I love the hot pot with others. It is great for a big party. All the waiters and waitresses are attentitive and helpful I usually have 2 things the noodle pup with yellow noodles with basil, Nd lots of other veggies and wontons Very good. Every two weeks. This keeps the colds away. It is special when it is cold out and hungry. U will be full when u leave.

Very disappointed and will not come back!

It pains me to write this bad experience with Pho 88, but it is really disappointing and I don't think we will come back again! We have been eating at Pho 88 since 1999 when it was just a small restaurant with a few tables. But the noodle was exceptional, we really loved it. Although we moved further north about 6 years ago, however, we still tried to come as often as we can. Several months ago, I ordered 3 a take-out with 3 pho noodles with clear noodle. My wife needs to eat the clear noodle since it is not rice based. When I got home, I found out that I was charged with 3 clear noodles (each is $1.00 more) but got 3 rice noodles. So I called the restaurant and the lady said she was sorry and we should get 3 clear noodles next time we visited the restaurant. A few weeks later, I ordered another take-out with 3 pho noodles, I talked with the lady on the phone, she said she remembered me and was willing to honor that deal. When my wife got to the restaurant to pick up the order, the lady told my wife that the owner changed the mind and is only willing to take give $1.00 off for each order. The way they handled this was really shameful, they were not up front on the phone, only changed the tone when my wife got to the restaurant. This is definitely not a honest place. Obviously, they don't value loyal customers. We will not come back again!

Pho 88 is one of those places I kept driving past and not noticing until a friend suggested it for lunch. Amazing food, well presented, great staff, informed and helpful. My lunch was so good I ordered two dinners take-out for that evening. Strongly suggested.

Worth a trip

Service was good. Prices were reasonable. Easy to drive there, right off Route 3, Lowell/Chelmsford. Don't look for it downtown. The Pho seafood soup was excellent. The spring rolls were made to order. Great for lunch.

Always Always good

This is my 1st review yet have been going to Pho for years. Work near by so, lunches mostly. The huge bowls of soup are fab. Hot, fresh fair priced. the service is wonderful. I we're there at least once a week. Thanks!! :)
