I read about Good Thymes restaurant in the Boston Globe. The restaurant reviewer said for his 30 th birthday he could have gone to any restaurant but he chose Good Thymes as he went their with his family as he was growing up. I had to drive the hour to get there but it was worth the trip, especially for the nostalgia. It is a very 80's style restaurant. The staff is excellent. The food is comfort food. I had the turkey croquettes, twice. They were that good. After the meal the come by with a dessert cart. I haven't seem one of those in years. While I didn't have any, they looked delicious. I will go back again and maybe try something other than turkey croquettes.

Really good basic American food with friendly service

Am here for dinner on a Saturday evening. They were very crowded, but we were seated quicker than the 30 minute estimate. Once seated, the friendly waitstaff, told us the specials, and took drink orders. They have a full bar, offering beer, wine and cocktails with top shelf brands. There were 4 of us, so we had a mix of specials and regular menu. All of the dishes were very tasty, and good portions. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the casual environment. The prices were very reasonable. We would consider returning for another dinner when we are in the area.

Best restaurant for fried haddock and scallops. I wish I knew how they make the batter!! Now that they are open starting at 4:00pm, you can't go and grab a quick lunch. Still, the best comfort food around. I liked the sliced bread they used to have, now they have rolls.

Won't be back

We've enjoyed this place for awhile but our first time back we had too many issues that should have been handled better. Had to remake a drink, brought 2 salt shakers and waited to get pepoerinstead, couldnt get prime rib less than medium (at 5pm). And my medium rare tips arrived Waldone. I sat with no food while my husband finished his entire meal. The bill was $67 for 2 meals and 2 drinks and all they offered was soup or salad. The manager could have handled it much better but didn't budge. We won't be back!

Good Food Fair prices

All the food is good, the seafood is the best. baked or fried haddock is great. the cocktails are really good, cosmos are the best....they dont skimp. Deserts are made there fresh, and are yummy, large enough portion so we split one, or take one home. Been dining here since they opened.

Glad we stopped!

We stopped here on our way to Maine as a halfway spot. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We especially enjoyed the coconut shrimp app and fish chowder. Prob the best fish chowder we have ever had! The place was clean and we’d stop again if in the area.

This restaurant reminds me of being a kid, its somewhere anyone can help something they like as they have a little bit of everything. The staff is always more than helpful and the food is always fresh.

The food was excellence, we had baked haddock and it was done to perfection. The waitress was very attentive, making sure we were enjoying our dinner. I recommend this restaurant very highly.

Nice local reastaurant

Was taken here by friends who described it as a family restaurant. Hostess was very pleasant and we were seated almost immediately. Waitress appeared and drinks were promptly brought to table. Menu had a nice selection. I had shrimp scampi. It was a decent sized portion and shrimp were flavored very well. Spaghetti accompanying it was bland. Another person had steak tips. Cooked properly but tough. Another person had haddock which they enjoyed. After delivering meals, waitress disappeared. Had a problem with drinks. She was nowhere to be seen. She finally showed up. Asked about drinks. She said there was a problem, but never came back with new drinks. Only thing she was prompt about was delivering the check. Restaurant went down in my opinion due to server.

Great menu for adults and kids

It is appropriately named . It is a pleasant local restaurant. I sat near tables with families and the wait staff was really nice and accomodating to the children in the party. The also have good entrées and beverages for the adults. I had Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was the best that had in a long time - prepared from scratch in the kitchen.

Just really really good food

Been here many many time and never disappointed us, the servers is excellent and the food is beyond words. This place get pack FAST so come early or come a little later in the evening and make sure your party is all with you, you can’t be seated until they are all here, enjoy the food, the wine and the atmosphere.

Excellent Eating

I got the Greek salad with grilled chicken and it was excellent. The salad was large and fresh and was a meal, service was great and price reasonable. The menu had a lot to chose from, stop by here you wont be disappointed.

Oustanding Restaurant

Have dined here several times and have always had a good meal. Service is fast and pleasant, Although I did not eat the desserts my friend did and loved it. I have had the baked fish and my favorite is the roast turkey ( awesome) real turkey! The $ is average from $15 & up . They also do daily specials.
