Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been to Steve’s a few times and have tried all the variety of Swingles but in my opinion the original is the best of the bunch.

The title says it all, what more do you want? They do key lime pies and they do them so well you may get diabetes from over indulging in all the pies. Who ate all the pies? Maybe I did. Buy as many as you...can afford and share the gift with the world. Did I say these are the best key lime pies I've ever tasted?More

Stopped there while browsing in Brooklyn. Probably the best key lime pie we've ever had. Not overpowering, not too sweet. The owner is super friendly. If you walk a few minutes away from the shop, you can see the Statue of Liberty. A little gem...off the beaten path.More

What a find, great place if you like KLP, especially on a stick! Saw this place on how to spend 10 hours in Red Hook, well worth a visit. It is right at the end of Van Dyke Street.

We were on the way to Boston and we stayed in Fairview, NJ. Our oldest daughter told us how good Steve’s was, so we made a side trip. It was worth it. Good food and great views of the Statue of Liberty in the distance....No restrooms thoughMore

Steve makes the best key lime pie in NYC, if not the USA. Period. You have to taste it for yourself. Check out the park next to his outlet for great views of Manhattan, Jersey, and more.

Sunny day, Brooklyn Bridge (and park) on our bikes, and then share a quality key lime pie with Lady Liberty Perfect break on our adventure, and we shared a personal portion (but entire) key lime pie. Lovely suggestion of gingerbread in the crust and perfect...consistency of tart. All washed down with a box of water! Worth the adventure to find it amongst the revitalised wharves of BrooklynMore

I biked to Steve's with a friends, and we enjoyed a personal pie outside on picnic benches. The staff is chatty and fun, and the water is not far away if you want to take your pie out to the pier. There are some other,...more rowdy red hook spots nearby - hometown bbq, brooklyn crab - but thankfully the hulabaloo doesn't bleed over. Only thing is they don't have any dairy free options -- yet! Sounds like key lime slushies are on the way :)More

Red Hook is an absolutely amazing place - stunning views all round, especially of the statue of Liberty, beautiful warehouses and art spaces, and great Bourbon and chocolate tasting at Cacao Prieto. However, the one place you should not miss out on your visit is...Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies! They had been recommended to us by our son-in-law and we were looking forward to trying them out. The lollipop pie on a stick was a revelation! Not too sweet, with just the right amount of chocolate and biscuit base, the soft key lime centre just melts in your mouth! Can't wait to return to Red Hook to try another one of Steve's Key Lime Pies - they're the best!!More

We can’t believe people really think these are “authentic”. If you have never eaten key lime pie you might be fooled. But these pies are way too sweet to be called “authentic”.

We went to Red Hook one day for wine tasting. We saw lots of cars and trucks parked outside. I assumed the pies must be good since Steve’s got all the customers. Oh boy! We were glad we stopped by. We picked up a 10...inches pie ($30). It was so light and refreshing. We just loved it. We can’t wait to go back to pick up a few more for our friends and family.More

Heard and read of great reviews. Loved the pies! The graham crust were perfect! I didn’t care for the frozen chocolate dipped one though. Definitely yummy! There are some park benches outside you can sit at or take a little walk to the park and...enjoy the pies w some peaceful sceneries of the water.More
