Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This bustling, traditional style diner restaurant is on one of the busiest blocks of the city, 2 short blocks to half a dozen Broadway theaters. Their breakfast offerings are generally large, familiar (such as western omelette with Ham, onions, peppers or add cheese) most costing $15 a plate, with potato’s and toast (including rye). A bagel is $1.50 with cream cheese at .75. Coffee is $2.75. Expect a line at meal times.

Had the pleasure to visit the Times Square Diner on Wed 4 March we arrived around 8pm and were pleasantly surprised that it had clean tables available, certainly after trying to get a table in similar facilties which all looked uninviting, although busy it was not overwhelmingly busy. On siting down we were met by a waiter who went through the menu and drinks available. We ordered drinks and when the waiter came back to take our food order he advised my wife of the large Portions of food that would be served to us subsequently she only ordered a starter for which she was genuinely grateful for as not a big eater. I ordered a burger and fries which quite frankly could easily have fed a family of 3. The food was nicely presented hot and very tasty. At all time we're were in this diner the staff was helpful friendly the food of good quality and very fairly priced would certainly recommend this diner to anyone looking for a clean quality food outlet.

The waiter suggested sharing a portion of fries with our burgers... he was right! The portions are large and tasty. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed our meal which was certainly better value than many other places in the area

During my time in New York, I really fancied some pancakes. After a bit of googling, I came across Times Square Diner, which was conveniently situated near the hotel I was staying at with my boyfriend. The staff at the diner were very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious with very generous portions! We both went for the buttermilk pancakes with seasonal fruit which were served with a jug of maple syrup too. A great breakfast spot in Times Square!

First and foremost, this is a Diner in Manhattan. Customers should have a specific set of expectations & to believe that this should be a 'Tavern on the Green' experience is ridiculous.
Finding a place like in Manhattan is great to begin with. It was exactly what we were looking for with limited time available.
All food items were very good, portions were large and the service was timely. The price was reasonable (for Manhattan). The menu offered a large selection. Adult beverages are available.
Decor is retro seventies. Think the green version of "Match Game". Seating in the free standing tables can be snug, but not cramped.
Would definitely recommend for those looking for a place to eat in the niche between fast food and fine dining.

Absolutely fabulous. We dined here on our 3rd night, the food was delicious and portions generous, so much so our 2 children shared a meal and they still struggled to finish it and they both have good appetites. Best value for money we have received in New York. So good we are going back tomorrow for breakfast. The staff and atmosphere was very friendly! 100 per cent recommend this diner.

In a rush to eat a quick bite before heading to see a show, we stopped in to this quaint little eatery. Seated immediately, the service was attentive, the food was brought quickly and was quite tasty. We had the Caesar Chicken wrap, the beef Gyro, the Cobb burger, and the Greek Chicken wrap. Probably would order the burger or gyro again, but the two wraps were delicious. If you’re tight on time, this little spot is close to the theaters, and the servers and service were tops.

We called in on Christmas morning for some brunch before going to a show.
This is a bit more upmarket than most diners, and the prices reflect that. Having said that, the corned beef hash with fried eggs was very tasty and set me up for the day.

New York was very crowded and all the tourist trap restaurants had long queues so we walked over towards Hell's Kitchen and went into this diner that was busy but had no queue. Wonderful breakfast and we went back twice more for an evening meal. The waiers are attentive, the food comes very promptly and the prices are very reasonable indeed compared to some places. Nice to be recognised on our third visit and to be treated with good humour.

This place was fantastic! We were looking for a spot that would appease our appetite and our picky teens. This place hit the mark and won the Gold! Best burger I’ve ever had. The salads are enormous so plan to share! The kids raved about the grilled cheese and the fries... you won’t be disappointed. The decor is charming and the staff was friendly, welcoming and on point. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but go in you won’t be sorry!

Came in for an early lunch with my husband. Food was pretty bland. My husband go the French toast and I got a spinach salad. The French toast wasn’t very flavorful but the sausage link were huge. Part of my salad was gross because the spinach was slimy and wilted ( looked like it was in the back of the fridge and froze). The candied walnuts and cranberries were good. The roasted turkey that I added to the salad was bland, no seasoning at all. The dressing was meh. Service was quick but we sometimes got double refills cause our waiter and the runner would just come to us with them.

We visited in our last night for dinner after I found a recommendation on a food blog. It was relatively quiet however, it was 7pm on 4th of July. The food was absolutely amazing, and portion sizes were huge. The best value for money we found in New York, and in such close proximity to the centre of Times Square. We got spaghetti and meatballs, and a burger with fries. The meat was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The staff were so friendly and service was so fast too. We were gutted we didn't come across this diner at the start of our break. We returned the day after for breakfast before heading to the airport. The breakfast was amazing, eggs cooked to your liking and bacon and sausage was very tasty. We did have to queue outside for a table at 9am but we only waited for around 15 minutes. Well worth it though. Highly recommend!!

Not far from Times Square is an amazing place to eat if you enjoy diners. It was packed when we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning...literally out the door. The food came faster than I'm used to and was straight out of any movie you've seen with ad diner. Lots of it and tasty, too. Our family of five was in and out in half an hour.

Excellent food and service. We had to queue outside in the cold for about 10 minutes to get inside but the waitress was very friendly and helpful, constantly popping outside to update us on how long we would have to wait. It was well worth the wait because the breakfast was amazing. Service is prompt but not rushed. The atmosphere is great. Everything you would want in a New York diner. Highly recommended.

Hotel recommendation. PLEASE do not go here despite the reviews. Yes, it was busy and the waiter very friendly, efficient and proactive.
The food is awful, presentation is a mountain of unappetizing, plate of food. Ordered the burger and chips, the chips came cold overflowing on the plate and the worse burger ever. OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET.
Coffee lukewarm.
It is a shame.

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
