Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's fairly traditional with a nod to the quick midtown workday lunch. The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly and relatively timely. The setting feels a little tired, but it's still a good option in that part of town for high quality sushi.

We had a good meal here - although it wasn’t the sensation that we had been told to expect. Staff welcoming and a good choice on the menu

really food traditional-style sushi with excellent quality, even for the lunch-combo service; the waiters' service could be a bit more personal, though; not very cheap...

We went to Sushiden as a friend who I was with wanted to go there. The food was not good for vegetarians and only had 2 vegetarian sushi options. Some of the sushi had wasabi in it and my nostrils and nose nearly burnt off. We asked the waitress to take it back and she came back saying there wasn’t wasabi in it however some sushi pieces definitely had wasabi in them whilst others did not. Hence I did not enjoy my experience of guessing which one to eat without suffering a nose bleed! Staff were nice but I’m not sure if some of them understood English as they said yah to everything even if we were asking them to take something away - yah but they didn’t move anywhere so I’m sure they didn’t really understand us. From my experience I wouldn’t recommend Sushiden again however the two I was with who eat meat and fish loved it.

Authentic Japanese cuisine here. Great food and great service. First time visit here but was really impressed with the food and service. If you like authentic sushi and sashimi this is the place to have in NYC.

My wife and I were in the city overnight on business and wanted to try a new sushi spot. This place was recommended by a friend. Sushiden is now on my top 3 list of best sushi I have eaten in my life (so far). The atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel like your in Japan for dinner. The service was top notch. They made sure we were taken care of with being annoying. We reserved the private booth where you set on the floor but your legs are still under the table. We ordered Sea Urchin, squid, shrimp and scallop sashimi. It was all amazing. We also had the clear soup which came with a medium sized oyster that tasted like the ocean. The seared tuna was so amazing that we ordered a second serving. A couple cold sakes to wash everything down hit the spot. Definitely check this place out if you have the time while in NYC.

This long-standing sushi restaurant in NYC have never disappointed me, is still serving high quality sushi at relatively reasonable pricing, especially compared to some newly opened super expensive sushi places in Manhattan. Real authentic Japanese experiences in the heart of NYC.

This sushi restaurant is outstanding. I have gone several times but the restaurant never disappoints me. It is pricey but not as pricey as other high end sushi restaurants in NYC. Sushi chefs are friendly. I always get “omakase” which is basically chef’s recommendation for the day.

My fiancé and I stopped here on a recommendation from my dad. We arrived around noon on a Wednesday and were seated at the sushi bar without a reservation, although it seemed as though most parties had a reservation. I think we arrived at the perfect time. The meal started with hot towels from the waitress. We started with the seaweed salad, which was unlike any other seaweed salad I've had. It had 5 different types of seaweed. I ordered one of the sushi lunch combinations - 2 sushi rolls (spicy tuna and salmon avocado) with 4 pieces of nigiri. This is one of the most popular lunch items and a great value. My fiancé ordered 2 rolls - the New York Crunch Roll and the Savory Roll. Everything was incredible. Great quality fish and very authentic. Highly recommend this spot.

This restaurant was suggested by the hotel concierge as one of his favorite sushi restaurants and I know why...fresh fish! And it’s not just one or two varieties but a list so long the server just showed it to me rather than trying to read them all to us.
In fact, everything was fresh and delicious, and was beautifully displayed. Will definitely be back next time I’m craving sushimi or sushi in New York.

I do come to Sushiden from time to time as it is close to my office and the food has been consistently good through the years. Last night I brought my niece there for dinner and we shared vegetable tempura for appetizer. For the main course, my niece had the savory sushi and I had the kaisen don. Both had uni! All dishes were very good! As always. Service was impeccable! As always.

Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown.
