My wife and I visited Fresco right after New Years and had a great time. the service is impeccable and the food is very good especially the eggplant and zucchini pie.. The only drawback is this restaurant is quite expensive. I'm sure the overhead to operate a restaurant in NY City is very high and to keep a certain level of service and food requires such high prices. I would say in summary this is a "special occasion" restaurant for most.

We're so happy you decided to start your 2020 off on the right foot with us! The eggplant and zucchini pie is indeed one of our most beloved items from the menu -- excellent choice on that one. We're also pleased to hear that you found the service impeccable. As far as our prices are concerned, you're correct in assuming that they are an accurate reflection of the quality of our food, service, atmosphere, and overall upkeep. Whether your next visit is a special occasion or not, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Sincerely,
The Scotto Family

Fresco is well located, about two blocks from Rockefeller center and close to many nicer area hotels.
We were here for business and thought that the evening was essentially flawless. The setting is elegant without being stuffy. Our service was attentive without being intrusive. The sommelier was genuinely helpful and the wine excellent without requiring a second mortgage.
The menu leans towards fine northern Italian. I had the tuna, which was well prepared.
This is a pricy restaurant to be sure (at least by non-NY standards). Appetizers hovered around $20. Entrees around $45. But we had an enjoyable evening all around,

It brings us great pleasure and pride to learn that the evening you spent here with us was flawless, Gregory. An elegant setting that isn't stuffy, attentive service that isn't intrusive -- these are the features we had in mind when we first opened, and it's wonderful to hear that they're still being routinely demonstrated today. Whether you visit us for business, pleasure, or both the next time you're in, we hope your experience is just as flawless as the last time.
Sincerely,
The Scotto Family

I take them here. Not only can I get a very good meal of just meat with veggies only, to keep to a Keto diet, the ambiance is exactly what the clients love too. One guy with us has a dietary request and the restaurant handled it perfectly, you really can't go wrong with this place. You will be treated like a king by the wait staff, I was very impressed and will do this again very soon.

We try to get to Manhattan/Time Square at least once a year (twice this year) primarily for a show or to expose the grandchildren to the NYC experience and logistics. We definitely train in and and out from Penn Station and navigate the remainder on foot to savor the energy, economy and commerce, diversity and unity of the city. We chose Fresco to dine, 15 of us. We are a out of State rural, suburban family of Asian, Mediterranean and British mix with a dining appetite for Italian, Greek, Asian & seafood cuisine. Fresco staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly, pleasant, accommodating and professional immediately upon our arrival. Patrons feel welcomed & special. As the night goes on a sense of balance, calm and safe harbor emerges after a day of NYC hustle and bustle just outside the door. The servers demonstrate European food & beverage service discipline, are conversant, smart, not rigidly formal with a smooth delivery. Our server took time to know us and his other guests without being intrusive or overwhelming. Fresco's atmosphere was definitely upscale, relaxed, clean and comfortable. They work alone as a team, reminding my wife of Commanders Palace in New Orleans. We immediately became confident of an upcoming excellent food & beverage dining experience at Fresco. After being promptly seated we settled in to savor the experience as did NBC personalities, Regis Philbin's staff and two Presidents (Presidents Clinton & Trump) did as represented on the wall photo's. (Only one parenthetical disappointment with the Octopus one leg, but the Calamari appetizer made up for it). Yes expensive, particularly with the 7 children, averaging out at approx. $65pp but it's NYC. The total Fresco experience was very satisfying to us after being very well served, very well attended to without being rushed. and not disappointed in our dining choice of Fresco. While we would not be a frequent customer, Fresco was special to us in the total context of our NYC family day. We would return.

We visited on a weeknight in mid-December and really enjoyed the entire experience. I grew up in the New York area and this reminded me of a classic elegant NYC restaurant--with a beautiful interior, great service, and outstanding food, but without the not so subtle arrogance that sometimes went along with the old school places.
We ordered a selection of smaller dishes: the winter salad was crisp and fresh tasting without too much dressing; the burrata was just right, the ravioli fresco was the best I have ever had, and the vegetable side dishes were fresh and not over cooked.
In addition, the people watching was very interesting with an eclectic mix of media celebrities, locals, and tourists. The tables are a bit close together, so we got to know our neighbors, who were locals that had stayed in the city for dinner. It is a bit pricy, but the quality is there. I highly recommend.

Great Italian with gluten free options both on the main menu and the dessert menu!
White bean dip served with the bread was a nice change from the bread and olive oil.
Lots of specials and homemade pasta.
Recommend: the Pappardelle with mushroom and duck that was on the menu and the gluten free donuts for dessert!

We chose to eat outdoors and they have really made a great effort to make it attractive. The only negative was the too loud music piped in Don’t mind soft dinner music but thumping , swing sound is more appropriate for the bar or late at night Very hard to hold a conversation
The food , however was outstanding. Portions were large and the pastas easily shared
Service was friendly and attentive
A reminder - specials will be more expensive, so don’t be afraid to ask
We look forward to returning and trying new dishes

Awesome! We were greeted by the family as we entered, then enjoyed a wonderful 7 Fishes dinner that was simply succulent, along with the live entertainment! My family and I were visited periodically to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and that everything was well. I even received a personal message from Anthony that he'll see us when we came downstairs. Unfortunately, he was dining with family also and we respected his space. Looking forward to our next visit!

We're clearly big believers in two things: family and food. It sounds like you are as well! It was a pleasure getting to host you and your family here at Fresco. Any time you want to come back again for an encore dining experience, you know you are always welcome. Take care of yourself in the meantime!

I’m sitting at Fresco as I write this. Pretentious, pretentious, pretentious. Did I mention pretentious? NYC restaurants are suffering big time yet this place has 4-6 people standing around to welcome, push, prod, sell patrons. Food is just okay, nothing special, over priced. There are so many real family restaurants in this town—Scotto has sold out to the Sax Fifth Avenue crowd that needs to have their …’s kissed. I just saw a bejeweled woman who could obviously afford the drink the bartender was making for her tell him to stop shaking her martini because she had to leave—no offer made to pay her tab. Go to Cellini on 54th.

We had a pretty bad experience at Fresco. Since we sat at the table the waiter asked if we were going to pay cash, we said no, and didn’t pay much attention to it. When paying, waiter insisted our credit card was not going through. We tried my personal card, business card, and even my wife’s and the waiter kept insisting they did not go through and that we should pay cash. This process lasted over half an hour, at the end we paid cash (fortunately we were carrying enough money, which we don’t usually do). We failed in not asking for the restaurant’s manager, but we were just tired of it all. Next day we called our bank and no charge had been attempted. All Cards worked perfectly fine elsewhere. So either the restaurants system failed, or another reason was behind the insistence in us paying cash. We hope the restaurants management takes notice.
The food was not spectacular but fine. Prices are steep for what’s offered, as the restaurant is trendy. The setting in the terrace is nice, loud music is played so whether you enjoy the ambience depends on your preferences.
Beyond the credit card problem, service was friendly but sloppy as they forgot to bring the wine, and when we were about to cancel, they landed it up with the desserts.

I like old school NYC restaurants where the manager, or even the owner come to the table to ensure your meal was up to your standards. Fresco by Scotto is that type of place. Now in the times of Covid, despite being cold, we chose to eat outside and the decor is great. They had a lemon orchard and I really like that. Impeccable service. I had lasagna and ricotta cheese cake for dessert, and I will definitely come back.

Fresco has re-opened better than ever. The hamburger and scallop dishes at lunch were delicious. We have also been for dinner. The branzino, lemon pasta, meatballs and veal chops were terrific. I usually don’t rave about breadsticks and biscotti, but their’s are great. The wait staff, faced with the challenge of serving inside and outside, performed tirelessly with good humor.

All i can say is.. WOW! Absolutely phenomenal! My husband and I were visiting New York for the first time together and we walked by Fresco, I saw the decor from the street and instantly knew we needed to dine at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were always greeted with a gracious smile that shows the culture this restaurant embodies. We felt like it was the ultimate hidden gem that everyone needs to know about. I love that the restaurant is family owned and your staff are imbecile and very accommodating. We cannot wait to visit Manhatan again and come visit your beautiful resturaunt!

My husband and I went to Fresco to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. I have to say I loved everything about the restaurant. The food was delicious- good portions and the price was not so bad. I even got a special purple kind of drink to celebrate. I loved the atmosphere, especially since it was a Saturday night. It was so nice to see mama Scotto greet us at the door. She is adorable. We are going to take my dad for his 90th birthday there this June and we cannot wait because he loves the Scottos so this will be extra special. The zucchini/ eggplant parmigiana was to die for and I got a pasta dish with broccoli rape that was soooooo good. I don't remember what my husband got but I do remember his plate was licked clean. The desert and cappuccino was really good too.... Do yourself a favor and go try it out- its a whole experience. We ate inside but I bet the outside is fun too.......

I am rating this highly with the caveats that we were not intending to spend this much and we walked in without a reservation. We had reservations at another restaurant we didn’t realize didn’t allow kids, a 10 and 13 year old, and turned us away. So we wandered for a bit, and Fresco said they had no tables but found us one anyway and I am grateful. We shared margarita pizza, meatball toscana, and Pici Pepe. We were very pleased with our food, and appreciated that they actually split up the portions table side recognizing we were going to share everything. The pizza was made with Romano instead of the usual mozza, which is pungently salty and almost crispy when it bakes up. The pasta was al dente which is the number one criteria, and the kick of pepper was on point. The giant meatball was garlicky and meaty with a light complementary tomato sauce. We had some cocktails and a half bottle of wine so the bill set us back more than we had planned, but for good food, we’ll scrimp somewhere else.
