John's pizza was my favorite pizzeria in NY, I always went there but I went to the one at 64st and 1ave which unfortunately closed.
I decided to go to this one that was closer to home, I must say the style of the place is always the same, but here I found the staff a little rude...
I ordered a 6-piece pizza but then immediately after I changed my mind and wanted it to 8 pieces, I told the waiter but he said I already sent the command I can not change it, just send a new command or go there to tell the pizza maker also because our pizza arrived 15 minutes after the order...
Then I asked for a bottle of water but nothing he had decided to make me drink what they offer them with ice...
The pizza is good but now or here the daisy is covered with basil... in short, an Italian pizza but Americanized.
Price for 2 pizzas of 6 pieces, 1 crown and 2 waters 70 dollars... bah
In this John's pizza I think I will never go back.

Ducked into this place to get out of the rain and have a quick bite and wow did we get a surprise when we saw the interior. We knew nothing about the place and it looked fairly unassuming on the outside, google told us afterwards that the building was previously a church, and a beautiful one at that. We had Bruschetta to start then a 'small' pepperoni pizza, we were ordering large but the waiter advised us that the small was plenty big and boy was he right. We really enjoyed our meal but as we were getting ready to go people started streaming in, mostly teenagers in huge groups, we assume they were eating before heading to the theatre. The place was soon packed to the rafters and very noisy and we were very glad to escape. A great place to eat in beautiful surroundings but don't go for an early dinner if you don't like crowds. Or teenagers.

The restaurant did not take reservations during our stay a week before Christmas, so the line to get in was long and slow- moving. Of course we ordered pizza as many people recommended we eat there if authentic NY pizza was what we wanted for dinner. The pizza was quite tasty and the toppings plentiful, and they let us share a pizza with different toppings on each half. The service was friendly and fast…once you got seated. You’re gonna wait in line at any restaurant worth eating at in Times Square, so that shouldn’t discourage you from eating at John’s Pizza 😋

Food was disgusting. Chicken in my daughter’s pasta smelled and tasted really bad, penne vodka were not worth your money.
This place is run down, furniture coming from the 70’s without the charm of the 70’s. Floor looks dirty, etc. Pity, as the place could be extraordinary, being an old church… i guess the owner is too stupid to understand he could invest a little bit and make this place fantastic. Or too busy stealing money from customers and tourists.
Service was fast . Too fast. They brought the appetizer 2 mins before the pasta, and the pasta 5 mins before the pre-dinner drink. They didn’t even look surprised by this!
There are so many pizzerias in nyc, don’t waste your time and money in john’s crappy pizzas and pasta !!!!

We were sat and ordered pretty quickly. Our food didn’t come until we asked for it and one of the pizzas was very burnt, missing basil (standard topping for a margarita pizza) and missing one of the extra toppings. That small pizza cost us $37. Save your money and go anywhere else for pizza.

A great location! An old theater, so it had a really great feeling. The pizza and wings were delicious, but the service wasn't really good. The pizza was ordered with the wrong toppings and after clearing the table, the bill was practically slammed in front of us. You don't do that.

Service from front of house staff and waiters was good. Garlic bread rolls starter was to die for (the best garlic bread rolls I’ve ever had). We had a large pepperoni pizza for mains and it was to die for. To drink we had pinacokadas which were frozen and very strong (but still tasty) and the bill wasn’t to expensive either. Amazing food and would come back in a heart beat.

Last-minute trip to NYC gave us the opportunity to try John’s, knowing we would be waiting anywhere with the peak holiday crowds. It took an hour to be seated, but we had excellent service once we got our booth. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Shared two large pizzas and a salad among four of us. Enjoyed it all and got a chance to relax before heading back out to see the holiday sights.

Had found John’s on Trip Advisor and it appealed as they weren’t taking bookings in December which meant we could be flexible with timings etc. We waited for only about 15 minutes and it was well worth it.
From the street the restaurant looks like nothing special but it is an old church inside and is quite special with 2 floors of tables.
A very extensive menu and different sizes of pizza that can be made half and half with different flavours.
Service very good.
Would recommend.

Amazing food!! The atmosphere and scenery was beautiful as you can see the pizzas being made. Great service: our food came quickly and we only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated even though they said it would be 45minutes-1hour. I would recommend the margarita pizza as it was the best one I’d ever had!!

Pros: Fast and pleasant service. Great atmosphere with festive holiday decorations, good selection on menu. Appeared clean. Food was decent.
Cons: Cesar salad was typical (nothing special), pizza was also mediocre (1/2 margarita, 1/2 pepperoni— we liked Ray’s pizza better). Garlic toast was awful and totally dry (I think it was toast sprinkled with garlic, no butter or oil if any kind.). Prices were typical for New York but the pizza could get very expensive as every topping is $5 no matter if it’s in 1/4 or 1/2 the pizza. If we wanted a traditional pizza, 1/2 sausage & onion and 1/2 pepperoni, mushrooms and olives — it would have been an additional $25 for toppings which is why we kept it simple.
It wasn’t awful but nothing special.

Having been before an advance party of 2 of us went to get a buzzer before the rest of our party joined us and were able to get a beer quickly and had room to chat with other patrons waiting for a table. The place was rammed but we only had to wait 40 minutes for a table by which time the other 6 had joined us. The menu was varied and the servers recommended the smaller of the pizzas for us, as we wanted 4 to share and it was still massive. They were huge with lots of toppings and very tasty. The others were very happy with their meals

Skip this and head over to Bleecker Street for the real experience…… That’s if you want excellent pizza. We had dinner before a show. My salad ( John’s salad) was ok and the grilled chicken on it was well seasoned . My friend’s pasta with Marinara sauce was underwhelming. Needs improvement! And it’s very expensive…. $28 for a salad.
Not coming back.

Hostess was great. She handled a lot of people in a short amount of time.
Waitress was nice but inattentive. My glass was bone dry before I received another glass of iced tea.
Food came out quickly and was hot. However, the arrabbiata sauce was not spicy. The shrimp fra diavola was missing one thing…the shrimp.
And when it came time for the Parmesan cheese, they brought a shaker to the table. Even Olive Garden grates the Parmesan for your main course.
