We visited this restaurant on our last night of this trip to NYC and to be honest it was initially a bit problematic to book online from the UK and we wondered if it would be worth the hassle. However, the menu looked great, it had positive reviews and we thought we just had to try it.
We were so glad we did as from the moment we walked in the door we just knew it was going to be a good night. The look and feel of the place was great and the staff were so friendly and attentive and as our booking was at 7.30pm we may have missed the pre theatre madness. Our server for the evening Kadie was friendly and helpful and answered any questions that we had and pointed us in the right direction with regards to food choices etc.
Everything we ate from the meatballs and crocche we shared as starters to the amazing pasta main dishes and fantastic desserts to round us off was fantastic and the best food we have had in NYC on this trip by far and one of the best meals we have had in a long time. This was also all washed down by a very good bottle of Sancerre which was very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the city. We also didn’t feel rushed in any way at all during our meal and enjoyed our night but we were still out before 9pm which just shows how efficient and attentive the staff were.
Finally, to the bill which when received was great value for money compared to other places we had visited during this stay and easily 20% - 30% cheaper and we had no problem in leaving a tip that reflected our enjoyment of the entire evening. We thought we already had a go to favourite place to eat when visiting NYC but we have now found a new one and would thoroughly recommend a visit and will definitely return!!

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was delightful and our server Roberto was extremely helpful. He recommended the $20 per glass Italian Chardonnay and we were not disappointed. Food was hot and tasty and very reasonably priced. A great after theatre spot!

My friend and I had come into the city to see a show and we were beginning to get hungry. We began looking around for places that seemed interested and had a good vibe and decided to try Sicily Osteria. I had been here before but it was a Brazilian restaurant at the time. It is a large place, with outside dining al fresco, a large inner room and seating further towards the back. We were seated quickly by one of the waiters and asked if we wanted water, what type and/or if we wanted drinks. We opted for water to start and EVOO was already on the table in a small can and the water and the sliced Italian bread soon followed. The bread was fresh and very tasty. We looked over our menus and my friend decided on lasagne and I got the cacio e pepe which I had not had in a while. A short time later our food arrived and we both felt we made wise choices-the food was delicious. We wrapped up our meal by sharing a dessert, the lava cake with a scoop of ice cream and coffee for both of us. We were very happy with our choices and the meal was excellent. It is reasonably priced for the area and I would recommend when you are in the area, especially if you see a show. They are prompt about getting your food to you and getting you out on time.

I think that opinions are overrated and it is nothing out of this world; Normal pasta, dry salads, somewhat tasteless artichokes and very expensive wine by the glass (Montepulciano $18). We had a small incident with the Serbian waiter who insisted on charging us 20% for the service of a €100 dinner for two people that between “his service” and taxes we paid $129 for a very expensive dinner for what we ate. If you have no other option, take advantage and eat but don't expect much.

Ok food at best.
2 plates of pasta 1 plate of green salad leaf and a couple of cherry tomatoes 1 glass of Chardonnay total bill $113
The restaurant adds on a COMPULSORY 20% service charge then taxes you on this additional cost
The cheeky sods then ask for an additional Tip!
WTF
I was not made aware of this before ordering.
My husband queried this charge and was told by the lovely server they won’t remove this it has to be paid.
If was the server that actually pointed it out, she was highlighting the fact the restaurant is asking for a tip despite adding 20% service charge on.
Avoid avoid avoid.
No other place we visited added this extortionate charge on your our bills and we visited dozens of places.
There are much better places to spend your hard earned dollars.
Try Benito one in little Italy.
Superb and they don’t rob you
Shame on you.

Manged to get a table outside quickly and it was a lovely day. My pasta was tasty, not what I was expecting but still tasty but only a hint of hazelnut - I thought they might have forgotten to add some ingredients at first. My partner enjoyed his locale pizza. Pasta is priced between $26 - $30 which I felt was too high for what I had. We both had a beer which were around $9 each. A tea $5. We had desserts and opted for the tiramisu priced at $16 and cannoli. Really disappointed with the tiramisu but maybe this is down to what we're used to, we're from the UK, 3 lady fingers in a bowl, the waiter comes over and pours coffee on them and then scoops on mixed cream and chocolate chips. They automatically added 20% but then there was a screen to offer a fisher 20% tip so be aware of that and check before you automatically add a tip.

I showed up for a birthday dinner and it was more than exciting! I enjoyed the lobster ravioli, which I heard was a new addition at this time, and it was absolutely delicious. The fried calamari and the house bread was also amazing as a starter. Our food was brought out timely and not in a manner that felt overwhelming while we're still eating our appetizers.
Overall, 10/10 experience. Would absolutely go again, amazing atmosphere and amazing food. All staff were very polite and friendly. Pictures all around the restaurant make this place feel very homely as well.
Would probably fry broccoli more often moving forward. Their oil is amazing.

Overpriced under seasoned food. Rude waiters. Bait and switch tactics.
Where to start:
Meatballs were seasonless. Wagyu meat in red sauce. Ordinary.
Mezzi Rigatoni dish was served with normal rigatoni. Without asking me if I wanted a change of pasta type. If you look at the posted photos in Yelp you will see that the dish is not served consistently. Does this Italian restaurant know the difference between Mezzi and regular Rigatoni?
When are arrived, the waiter asked us if we wanted water. Didn’t realize it was the first “test”. He brought regular water (not sparkling) which ended up costing $9. We then asked for tap water which was served in a bottle clearly marked SPARKLING. We informed the waiter we didn’t order sparkling water to which he replied . . . .that’s the tap water. So . . .
Regular iced tea tasted days old.
The place is overhyped and overpriced. And they absolutely take advantage of it. Don’t trust your waiter.

I dined at Sicily during a stay in New York City as it was close to our hotel and had good reviews. The interior had a pleasant ambience and the menu had some very tempting dishes to choose from. Service was polite but way too fast, they bought out our main dishes withing 60 seconds of us finishing our starters and it all felt very rushed, we were literally in and out the restaurant in less than 40 minutes which for a dinner from arrival to departure just seemed way too fast. I had the Polpette, (Wagyu Beef Meatballs), to start and they were very tasty, followed by the Casarecce, (Pork sausage with pasta in a creamy sauce), which was also delicious. Portion sizes for New York were quite small and we shared a second main dish of Carbonara which was okay but no where near as good as the Casarecce dish. The cost was quite high at US$174 considering we had no dessert and only had a Diet Coke to drink. All in all though the food was very good hence my 4 out of 5 review rating.

My wife and I made last minute Broadway plans (Kimberly Akimbo) and were able to make a 6:00 dinner reservation on a Saturday night on relatively short notice. We were seated a little early in the main portion of the restaurant which is rustic brick and it is loud. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are on the high side for Italian but the wines by the glass selection is good with Sicilian and other unique choices. The menu is fairly varied. The linguine nere with clams in an artichoke sauce was phenomenal - black pasta perfectly a dente. The veal marsala was very good, as was the meatball appetizer. I might choose to sit in the atrium in the back next time, but I would definitely come back to try more of the menu on a pre theatre evening.

This is a very large and busy restaurant so it does not have a quiet atmosphere that encourages slow eating. Many people seem to come here for dinner prior to a show, so everyone seems in a hurry to get served, eat, and leave. If you like being in a restaurant that serves good food but at a fast pace, this is your place. The food was tasty, and the service was timely.

Sicily is a true Italian gem, offering an exceptional dining experience perfect for pre-theater meals or private events. The warm, inviting atmosphere and attentive, knowledgeable staff make you feel right at home. The menu showcases authentic Italian flavors, with standout dishes like the classic chicken parmigiana—crispy, tender, and perfectly sauced. The restaurant also boasts an incredible pastry chef, whose desserts are the perfect ending to any meal.
Whether you're enjoying a leisurely dinner before a show or hosting a private event, Sicily delivers on every level—delicious food, excellent service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine!

What a great dinner spot! Our server was attentive, food was delicious, and atmosphere was fantastic. We did have a bit of a delay between our starter and main courses, but everything came out hot and tasty. We made reservations a few weeks in advance, and every table appeared to be occupied or reserved when we arrived. We had the Ricotta to start with, and it was so smooth and a perfect starter to the evening. We split a bottle of red recommended by the server, and it paired nicely with our pasta dishes. We were stuffed and weren't able to fit in dessert, but the dishes served around us looked amazing (table side tiramisu), so hopefully next time we come we can try a few!

We thought the restaurant was really Italian but in reality both the waiters and the chef are not.
We tried panelle as an appetizer and I must say they were not edible. Tiny bits full of oil, nothing to do with real panelle.
Good baked pasta, the only thing that was saved in the evening.
Paccheri to the norm nothing like the original. Too much garlic inside and clearly precooked pasta.
From a restaurant that extols itself as Italian, you cannot accept a pre-cooked pasta.

Dinner before theater. (Restaurant is on "restaurant row" so ideally located for Broadway shows.) Just before arrival for our reservation, we realized our show started 1/2 hour earlier than we thought. The maître d' was excellent, seated us immediately and notified wait staff. They were great - advised which meals could be prepared in time and whisked us through our salads and pasta. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was like an Italian osteria - simple tables & chairs, checked tablecloths - very nice. We regretted not having time to enjoy a longer meal. We'll be back!
