The menu is full of very well prepared Italian plates for sharing. Dishes were a hit and served hot out of the kitchen - the polpette meatballs were savory and flavorful, and we loved the polenta, squash, clams, gnocchi, bucatini and balanzoni. Perhaps the rigatoni was the only unimpressive dish we would pass on next time. The tiramisu is decadent and enough to share across 4-6 people! Tart cherry sorbetto was a serious treat!! Our server was welcoming and attentive, very familiar with the menu and recommended an excellent wine. They do tack on 3% kitchen admin - not to say the kitchen was any less than superb, but we are beyond unusual circumstances of Covid. Consumers prefer simplicity and transparency and it would come off well to price the menu as you need to.

We were a party of 8 and did the special tasting menu for $65 pp. I don’t eat beef or duck so a few of the dishes were not for me but the group overall enjoyed most of the plates. Many items were off menu, but not all. We started with beet arancini (yum!), then a liver mousse ball, meatballs (the most traditional Italian of the dishes), followed by rainbow carrots over ricotta with sugared ginger, bacalao on toast, tuna crudo (our least favorite), clams with grilled bread, two pasta dishes and a panacotta, fig, peach tuile dessert! Yes, that’s more than 8 but we got an extra dish or two ! The service was very nice and the restaurant is great looking. Very special meal

Our first time and we could not have been more impressed. It began with our walk in the door and the kind way we were greeted and seated. We were blessed to be waited on by Ying who expertly introduced us to the menu, cocktails, and wines. We began with the scallops crudo which were fresh, creamy, and light at the same time with hints of olive oil, lemon, and white radish. We followed it with their smoked trout; two beautiful filets perfectly moist and lightly smoked then toasted on one side. And by the way, their bread, as a stand-alone, was delicious and perfect to get every drop of sauce. Our entrees, the pasta with homemade sausage and the pasta with shrimp were elegant and portioned perfectly. We enjoyed a phenomenal dessert of a simple, homemade, and remarkable chocolate biscotti with expresso cream, along with limoncellos, also homemade. Simply one of the best meals we have had in a long time, and it uniquely captured the very unique nature of Italian cuisine from Venice. We will visit every time we are in Boston.

The chef's selections were our choice and each tasted was an exciting experience. The pairing with wine also enhanced each course. By the time we had reached the main we were already quite satisfied but the indulgence was encouraged with the presentation and aroma. Finishing with a tasteful dessert also put this over the top.

This restaurant exceeded me expectations on a good Italian restaurant and the service flow, the food quality, and the ambience makes this a very good option for casual, elevated, or even romantic dining. The food was very much a justification of its mission to make authentic Venetian food in particular. The pricing is also really justified for what you get and the restaurant is much better than most of the fine dining establishments in the city.

We were a group of 5 for dinner. It was a Friday, early evening, busy but not at its peak. Very pleased with piatti appetisers and grani entrees. The CICCHETTI (like tapas) were creatively seasoned and prepared. I was really taken by the Pistachio Meringue, and enjoyed the Crab in Saor with artichoke, raisin, dill and the Baccala on dark bread. The monkfish was served in a bowl of bigoli pasta was very tasty and fresh. We also had a generous portion of mushroom risotto mixed with ricotta, swiss chard, and chive that was delicious but too heavy on the salt. Per favore, chef...less salt, meno sale! Can you believe I had room left for a Tiramisu dessert? Decadently delicious. Others had pineapple sorbet and lemon ice...limone! The service was excellent, servers attentive and friendly. We all enjoyed our meal and ambience at SRV. Looking forward to our next meal there. Based on this experience, I highly recommend.

We were looking for a top restaurant for the final night of our holiday and we found it at SPV. We received great service throughout (thanks , Sam) and the food was consistently excellent. We chose the sharing plates menu and the presentation was exactly right, with each plate arriving in good time, not to soon as to feel rushed, nor with any delay.

I was in Boston for a reunion and two of us had dinner at SRV last Saturday. What a wonderful meal! The ambience was lovely, the food was amazing and the service was, quite frankly, perfect. Our server, Nate, was thoughtful, knowledgeable and genuinely interested in the composition of our meal. When my friend couldn't decide on a wine, he brought her samples of three to try. Later in the meal, Nate brought us samples of a wine we'd discussed but not previously tried or ordered. What a joy it was to have him as our server and dine so well!

Our dinner at SRV was a mixed bag. Our server was relentless, checking with us every few minutes and insisting we get our order in - which was odd considering we had an 8:00 reservation so they weren't trying to flip out table. We ordered our appetizers, which arrived within a few minutes, and then we were pushed into ordering the next two courses without delay. We had tell her NOT to fire our entrees because we wanted to order wine to have with our main course. I have honestly never experience anything like it. In regard to the menu, everything was delicious, other than the clam pasta which we sent back. We love seafood, but this particular dish is made with a crustacean butter that to all three of us at the table tasted "off". And yes, we all tasted it trying to determine if it really was off or if it actually was intended to taste like that!

This has been our favorite restaurant in Boston for the last 6 years. We chose it for our 20th marriage anniversary this year. We ate from the Chef's menu. It was the best choice as expected. SRV bar is our place, it is our Thursday night place. We love the creativity of the cocktails, you simply ask for your favorite liquor and they create something to perfection. The seasonal menu changes too make everything fresh and exciting. There have many wonderful people over the years. Kristen, Marsha, Tiago, Hazel, Alex, , Daniel. Ryan(RIP), et al- thank you for always taking good care of us.

While the taste of some of the food was excellent, there are dishes with very specific and somewhat odd flavorings, so some of us clearly disliked some of the dishes. Overall would say the food was very good, but not outstanding or out of this world. And for the prices, it should have been the latter, IMO. A few issues: when we made reservation we noted we needed to be done by a certain time. They said 2 hrs would be adequate. We actually got there early, so had 2 1/4 hrs. But it was rushed at the end as we needed the bill and were not done with dessert. So left there with dessert half eaten. (the waiter was aware of our timing when we arrived). Prices seem excessive, and I don't think I am out of touch with pricing in Boston. The meal with tax and tip and a glass of wine each came to 75/person. Cappuccino price was 3.50 which is reasonable, but the size of the drink was about 2 oz. total, and I estimate 1 oz coffee and 1 oz foam. Possibly it was 3 oz. When I make a cappuccino, it is at least 6 oz. Most of the dishes are "small plates" or medium. The "small" should really be called tiny or petite. So, for $6 there were 3 meatballs. But each one was the size of a cherry tomato. For the Mozz. Carrozzi we wanted 4 and not 3, and waiter said no problem, but were charged $6 for the 3 and $4 for the single 4th one (each one was the size of a cherry tomato). Waiter was very personable, but messed up a few things we ordered. We were brought 3 glasses of wine, and not the 4th. He never requested it. So, until we could get his attention, it had been a while. He didn't put in our order for one of our main dishes, so we never got it. And we just shared the ones we received between all of us. We asked for milk with the teas we ordered. It never came. So had to find someone to get us some, which took a while also. Some of the food was wonderful, and some not so much.

We stopped In for dinner without a reservation and the staff made room for us at the bar. We shared the gnocchi and another pasta dish, plus gelato with honey for dessert, and everything was completely satisfactory. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the evening was the highlight of our trip.

Had a private party for a Sunday brunch and the staff could not have been more pleasant and professional. Every one of the servers went out of their way to ensure that every detail was perfect. The food and drinks were fantastic, especially the tiramisu, fruit and waffles and eggs Benedict. A great experience for the first time trying SRV, but we will absolutely be back.

Went here on recommendation but was underwhelming. Average tasting food and table not ready on time. Waited 15 mins beyond booked time but not offered anything complimentary. We were one of at least 5 parties that were made to stand and wait. The lamb gnocchi was very good however but the conchigle was quite odd tasting. Would not go back I’m afraid.

SRV has always been good, but with tonight’s dinner we think they have moved to the top tier of innovative and satisfying restaurants. And they are affordable. Our table ordered their Arsenale tasting menu. $48 pp, (not $75 or $110). Some of the dishes were on main menu, others just for the tasting menu (and it changes regularly). All were absolutely delicious. The best meal we have had in several years. Multiple small plate appetizers, an extraordinary salad, more substantive fish and chicken small plates, two extraordinary pastas, and small dessert. Ten or 11 in all. Enough portion size that you could taste a bit more if you really loved it. Since we really loved essentially every dish, we were running out of room by the second pasta course, but we can live with this problem. The common denominator was complexity of flavors and accompaniments that enhanced the main ingredient to really satisfying effect. Not precious at all. Unusual ingredients (such as spicy beet stuffing for pasta triangles) were successful eye-openers. Go there. Order the Arsenale. Allow 2 hours to eat graciously. It’s totally worth it. You’ll go again.
