Hard to get to, hard to park and Mike's Pastries are bigger and beter! No place to sit and enjoy your treat and when we got back to our hotel to eat it, I wasn't impressed.

Tried my first arancini today at Bovas. It was a pepperoni and cheese filled ball of scrumptiousness. The rice was perfectly cooked and and then deep fried to perfection. Needing a dessert to follow this I opted for a chocolate dipped cannoli. Another great choice....More

A recent trip to Boston allowed me to visit Bova's for the first time in a couple of years. Just as I remembered, the 24-hour schedule and nearly endless selection make up the perfect combination for this North-end destination. The bakery items are always fresh,...More

Stayed in a condo right up the street from Bova. This place is open around the clock, and always bustling! Visited a couple of times. Had a sandwich one evening, pasta another, and pastries on both occasions. The family working there is so incredibly friendly...More

Can i just say open 24 hours!!! This is by far the best bakery in town! The lobster roll was very cute and very good. Also had the cannoli, and it was wonderful. You will NOT be disappointed!!

Stopped in for a ricotta pie and left with a box of cannoli this is a favorite of mine cause I can get what I need 24/7. No hesitations recommending this shop. The only issue is parking but for me it’s a stones throw walk...More

Go to place for all of my childhood and adulthood for pastries in North End. Forget the tourist trap of Mikes Pastries. This is where you want to go.

A friend of mine (who spent awhile living in Italy) had recommended some places on the north end and this was one of them. The pastries were delicious! I LOVED the cannoli!

Great selection to choose from. Looks all very fresh. Got the creme brûlée cannoli...it was amazing, exceeded expectations! The workers didn’t look exactly thrilled to be working, I can imagine there job is tough dealing with tourists.

Hidden gem since most tourists go to Hanover. This place is fabulous one of the best napoleons available and the cannolis are super crispy and fresh.

North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like
being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and
Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants,
bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part
in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or
Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma
sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s
home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church

Bova's is an institution and open 24/7. You will need to take your goodies elsewhere to eat. Try the Greenway when the weather is warmer.
