We were recommended this restaurant by a guy in the wine store a few doors up the street. We were not disappointed. Food and service were both excellent. Our waiter told us we did not need to order more rice as he thought we would have enough with the 2 entrees we had ordered and he was correct, we had plenty. The food was excellent and very flavoursome and the waiter (Johnny) was very chatty and helpful. It was a very pleasant experience all round and if we are back in Boston we will be making a return visit. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was my first time trying hot pot and it was such a great and unique experience. I attended this restaurant for a business dinner and we were a party of 8. Our waiter was so patient with us. He answered all of our questions and took his time walking us through the menu and explaining the different options on the menu. The food was great and tasty and the drinks were awesome!

We were sat at the bar as it was a busy Friday evening and we had no reservation. It was still perfect for 2 people. Host sat us straight away, bar staff were super efficient and friendly despite how busy they were. I had the tofu curry a bit pricey for $18 with no rice but worth it for the flavours. Also had leftovers to bring home. Great experience overall.

Went because of TA high ratings 15th of 15K restaurants in Boston. Can not be wrong... We had 4 made to order meals off menu. Each one of the meals we ordered was something wrong when delivered to table. We told server before ordered we asked not to include ingredients because of not liking or allergies. Also, One was missing vegetables as cleraly stated on menu Male server simply was shady character that was waiting 5-6 tables walked and talked to us quickly with confidence of a "I know everything " and this job is beneath me. Obviously been serving at Q for years. Server simply asked "what do you want" like we were on time schedule to turn the table. We order 3 orders spring rolls for appetizers also gave him our dinner orders 1) asked for No onions , 2) asked to be sure there were no eggs, 3) asked for no mushrooms( as stated on menu). As for mine my order " Beef with Black Peppers" stated on menu that had green peppers and onions and only came with onions (I even question if I received the correct meal) See pictures! When food came out, we called him over told him the mistakes that were made. With chip on shoulder server literally stood there and argued with us that there was none of those things in our meals even though we picked them out and showed him the actual egg, onions , mushrooms in each dish and mine that said had green peppers and did not. Arrogantly, server would not take responsibility for his mistakes. Without causing a fuss we just took the food "to go” not to cause a stink and get everyone upset. We gave food to one person. I thought we were past the Bad restaurant service part of the pandemic. I guess restaurant attitudes changed for good and just lucky to get a seat and food served you, forget if you will like it or it will make you sick or not. Simply a waste of $200. The service was poor and ruined the meal for all of us. All I can say is the overpriced frozen spring rolls were OK but nothing special, you can get in Walmart freezer section. Simply would not return because of non caring service.

Honestly don’t know where to start. Restaurant got good reviews and we were eager to get a table. We were sat at our table ordered drinks and Food - 1 bottle of beer and a glass of Coke. Beer arrived with one portion of rice which sat for at least 15 minutes before someone told us this was a mistake and took it away. Next came “the starter” wonton soup, which consisted of 2 basins of tasty broth and soggy dumplings with a disgusting sausage roll centre. Also at this time our prawn and cashew nuts came which was cold and had to ask to be reheated. We had also ordered a beef dish which never arrived and had to put out an apb for the coke all while watching the sever fill the glasses with water several times at the table next to us. When asking for the coke for the fourth time also the beef dish, server said we had no recollection of us ordering it. Asked for the bill and the coke miraculously turned up. You too can have this experience for $80.

This is my favorite restaurant in Boston, first among much great food. The drinks are simply outstanding, especially the Mai-Tai and the Lychee Martini. They have a great collection of Japanese whiskies as well. The hot pot, which seems to be their most popular dish, is backed by some of the best broths in the city. Quality of meat and vegetables is always first rate, as is the sushi. The noodle dishes are fantastic, all having a wok seared flavor. The servers, bartenders are fantastic; there is always a manager/owner on site. All make you feel special. You simply cannot go wrong with Q, and the prices, given the quality, are most reasonable for Downtown Boston.

The Q is a restaurant we try to frequent when in the mood for sushi or hotpot. Their menu has a wide variety of asian appetizers as well as sushi entrees and an entire hot pot menu. We enjoy the variety as well as the quality knowing you will pay Boston prices of course. We have been here before and will certainly return with regularly good servers and bartenders it’s a reliable restaurant with delicious food.

The Q is highly recommended - good quality at acceptable prices. In particular, the HotPot (the guest prepares his own food at the table) is - rightly - very popular here. The quite large restaurant is - where else - in Chinatown and stands out from the other restaurants. Good service.

A nicer and more upscale $$ restaurant in Chinatown Boston. They specialize in Mongolian hot pots at your table but their menu is very extensive. We had spicy chx w bell peppers and onions along w pork pot stickers. All very delicious and well-done. I was put off by having to pay extra for rice with the meal…also the waitress was a bit curt and website won’t accommodate reservations (call). Would be a 5 otherwise.

We had a chance to have dinner at Q Restaurant during our recent visit to Boston. What a fun experience! The restaurant offers a variety of Asian food, including Chinese dishes and sushi. But the real star of the restaurant are the large number of hot pot options available tableside. You pick broth, veg, and proteins. We had the Mongolian Cumin Beef and the steak/lamb hotpot. The Mongolian beef was fantastic - the hot pot was tasty and challenging. The staff was very helpful in placing the order and showing cooking techniques. Located on Washington St near the edge of China Town. Well worth the trip. Not sure it's the best place to bring the kids.

During the pandemic a lot of restaurants disappoint ….. waitstaff is often unmotivated, places are understaffed and the food choices underwhelm. Not so at The Q. Wait staff is very attentive and helpful, hot pots are excellent and offer great choices for vegans, pescatarians and meat eaters. Loved eating here and hope to return!

We haven’t eaten a Mongolian hot pot for many years. In all that time we forgot that we don’t like them. Our experience tonight reinforces our dislike for hot pots. The restaurant itself was fine. Service was very good, the staff were friendly, and the setting is quite good. We don’t know if our food was superior or inferior as hot pots go.

Nothing exceptional. Edamame was barely warm and under salted. The shrimp with fresh mango was lukewarm and covered with a sickly sweet bland sauce. The sushi rolls (we ordered 4 different ones) were fine, just nothing with a wow factor. The service was very poor. Had to beg to get water refilled, entrees came out before appetizers, waiter spent a great deal of time flirting with a table of twenty-somethings and ignored the rest of his section. We won’t return

My husband and I went on a short trip to Boston and decided to eat out at this restaurant due to the variety of dishes offered on the menu. We ended up ordering hotpot and the staff was very helpful and polite as we decided on what to order and even gave us a short tutorial on how to do hotpot (which was very helpful since it had been a while since our last hotpot experience!). The atmosphere was lively and cheery, yet personal as well. We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant and definitely hope to come back!

My favorite Hot Pot experience! Everything was wonderful, the food, the setting, the servers. The staff was funny and friendly and happily answered all of our silly questions. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. We had a spicy broth and a mild broth, both were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed boneless short rib, tendon, noodles, vegetables and the ball platter. We hadn’t been to Boston for Hot Pot for a few years, but we won’t let that happen again. I can’t wait to go back!
