Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

OMG flavorful and yummy. The restaurant was full and there was a line to get your order in, but after receiving the food you can see why. So amazing and good. You can tell they are short staffed however all the staff we encountered were very friendly.

We had read online that the daily special on Wednesday was fry bread Navajo tacos, so we planned a visit to Los Alamos just to enjoy this dish. Sadly, when we arrived, we discovered they have been moved to Tuesdays and are not part of the regular menu. My wife had a hamburger with guacamole and I had a fried chicken sandwich. Both came with fries. The food was good, but we sure wished we could have tasted those Navajo tacos.

We were looking for the perfect New Mexican diner and this was it! You order as you walk in and then take a seat for a short wait for your food. And what great food it is! Mrs. M had the blue corn enchiladas and I had to the combo plate. Both had very generous portions of food; both had plenty of green chilis and both were delicious! Great food. Fun atmosphere and great service. We'll be back!

Viola's had a good rating so we decided to give it a try. The ordering procedure was unclear at first due to Covid restrictions, but we figured it out. Our cashier was friendly but the restaurant policy stated that if you wanted water to drink, you had to pay $2 for it even though it was tap water. I had my Yeti water bottle with me so did not order it, but my husband did. We don't drink sodas so we didn't feel like we had much choice. When our food was brought out I was told that they don't allow outside drinks so I had to put my Yeti in my backpack and not use it. Wait, WHAT? She claimed that it was law, not restaurant policy, but literally every other place we've been hasn't had a problem with it. Anyway, the food was typical, but not outstanding. Not bad either, just run of the mill. I did love the posole, which is a nice change up from the rice that Colorado restaurants serve. The meals come with a sopapilla but it arrives with your meal so it is cold by the time you are ready for it.

Wanted something quick and easy, so stopped in here for breakfast. We just left the Farmers Market, where let me tell you, if you enjoy fresh vegetables, this is the place to stop by on Thursdays! Breakfast menu was simple and affordable. Kind of an old school feel.

Had to wear a mask to get in the front door. You order at the counter before being seated. After that, everything is great. This is a family run restaurant. Viola has passed but her granddaughter waited on us and was a Blessing. There wear 8 of us and she was very sweet to our 4 grandchildren.

Went to eat breakfast when they opened up and the staff was rude and the food was cold. Wife’s order was wrong. My scrambled eggs were so grease I couldn’t eat them.

I went to Viola's for lunch today, and had a really hard decision to make, as I love their burrito as well as their stuffed sopapilla, but they had their special today of Navajo Taco. I chose the Navajo Taco and was not disappointed. It was very good. Looks like I will have to go back Thursday when their special is the burrito. This is the place that the locals go. It is a good clean restaurant, but nothing fancy, just the way I like it.

This is the best food we've found in Los Alamos & it's reasonably priced. The location is on Trinity Drive (a block over from the main drag)...if you're visiting Fuller Lodge, walk across the park that's across the street on the main drag (Central Ave, I think), then turn L & walk maybe a block to Viola's. Lots of locals eating here, which is usually a good indication of quality & value. Service was fast.
