Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been dining here for several years now... many, many dinners. Now that Bay Pointe has reopened we have enjoyed two wonderful outdoor lunches with breezes and water views.
The tables are spaced out with umbrellas overhead, and the serving staff is exceptionally pleasant and efficient. Our recent meals have been well prepared and nicely presented: crab cake appetizer, lobster roll, salmon, swordfish and baked stuffed seafood trio.
The lunches are very reasonably priced considering the amount of food provided (Be ready to take home the leftovers to enjoy again.) and the three-month closure because of the covid.

This restaurant has such delicious food ! We had to wait about 30 minute to be seated and outdoor seating was an 1.5 hour wait, all understood due to COVID circumstances. The crab dip was to die for and same as the Mac and cheese, Portions are VERY generous. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Quincy area looking for a restaurant with a nice quiet view as well. We will be back!

Very nice meal and a cosy oasis on a freezing cold night.
Enjoyed the lobster roll and the swordfish.
Complimentary bread to start.
Fries were a tad over-cooked (dark brown, rather than golden), but otherwise the meal was very good and reasonably-priced.

Incredibly poor management at this location. It’s very busy but no reservations are allowed. We went on a Sunday at 4 pm and were told there would be a 60-90 minute wait for a table for 2. We waited 70 min and finally got called only to find out that our table was inside not outside. Hostess said we would have to wait another 60 min for an outside table although several were empty. Side note - a party of 14 arrived while we were being seated and told there would be a two hour wait but they were seated next to us in 20 min.
We were seated indoors next to the busing station filled with rags and cleaning supplies at a table so wobbly my husband’s coffee spilled all over. Our meals can while the appetizer plates were still on the table. Still empty tables on the deck where we wanted to sit.
Food was very good but the management and interactions with the host made this very expensive dinner a big disappointment. We will definitely not return.

i want to start by saying that this restaurant has the nerve to ask for $5 extra per person - explanation by waitress: to make up for the 3 months they were closed and food loss as if they not already got compensated by government
my husband likes this place. I on the other hand not impressed. long waits food not consistent. always surprise with the bill because what we ordered when looking at menu did not come to that much. $ 5 per person and explanation did it for us both.

Location and view don't justify anything else - I do understand the current plandemic situation and I am all for supporting local small businesses. However, if I can guarantee you a reservation on a Tuesday evening with 10 guests I feel you should be able to guarantee a reservation and get of your high horse of not accepting reservations. First, it was confirmed even the day before I called I was told by Olivia yes it is confirmed. The party was celebrating a special;e event, as informed, and yet they had to wait for over 30 minutes to be seated. When I called the same evening, I was basically told I am lying because they do not guarantee reservations, and Olivia did not recall speaking to me ?! Bad business very very bad business. Lst but not least service missed serving two ordered dishes....thanks God the coast is long enough with many more fine dining restaurants....

Now that COVID restrictions are being lifted, restaurants are becoming more crowded and Mothers Day is no exception. We had a reservation for 6:00 pm but we’re not seated until 6:40! There were many very large parties that seemed to linger thus not allowing tables for smaller sized parties like ours. The hostess apologized for our wait and offered complementary cocktails which in my view was a very nice touch. Our server Melissa was friendly and very accommodating. The dinner service was prompt and delicious. Unfortunately, then ran out of some items on the limited Mother’s Day menu. We have been to this popular restaurant many times in the past and I’m certain things will improve as business gets back to normal. The challenge will be getting enough qualified help, a problem facing most restaurants.

On a day drive to Hull we stopped at Bay Pointe on our way home and at 3:30pm got a great table on the deck and lunch menu.
Beers to start (no drafts but bottles are ok).
Right to food, Judy and I shared the Lump Crab Cakes app and Seafood platter.
Crab cakes were the best we have had since eating in Maryland years ago.
Fried Seafood Platter had clam strips and clams with bellies, scallops, shrimp with pesky tail removed, haddock pieces, house cut french fries, coleslaw. The batter was so little and tasty that Judy described as tempora style. The best seafood we have had this year..
Place is super and our server Jenn H was always checking in with us.
FYI : They do not add a $5 per person fee to your bill due to the virous as reported by a previous customer!

I’ve eaten here many times before. But during this time when outdoor dining is becoming the norm, this is the place to go. They have a spacious two tier deck. The prices are reasonable, waitstaff friendly, plenty of parking. But one caution: Don’t let then seat you near the bins where they put the used dishes. Put is a rather mild word. It’s as if they heave the dishes into the bins. About every 5 minutes it seems as if someone has taken a tray of dishes and thrown them on the floor. They crash and each time I jumped. The only other thing is that they don’t take reservations. We went early but as we were leaving I heard them saying the average wait was about 40 minutes...this was mid afternoon.

Good food and outdoor ambiance in the past but they now fall short on COVID issues. I've eaten at this great restaurant at least a few times over the past couple of years but am really disappointed in their lack of COVID precautions. I called tonight to make reservations and was told they don't take them "BECAUSE of Covid." I really wanted to eat here (and have no backup restaurant) and asked what happens since they don't take any reservations. The lady who answered the phone told me I can "just wait outside like everyone else does". I told her that's exactly what I want to avoid, hanging out with other people who don't have reservations, and she said "well most people just want to enjoy the weather but you can wait in your car if you want". No thanks. We won't be eating here. Really disappointed in their thinking that no reservations is a good idea.

I never knew this place existed. Glad I tried it. I put my name to be seated. I was told 90min wait. I got called in 30 minutes. Nice outdoor seating. The service was great. The food was yummy. My Vojito was tasty. The only bad thing was I ordered an appetizer to go and I think they forgot it took longer than was told.

After nearly 20 years of enjoying reasonably priced, generous portions of clams, oysters, scallops, schrod and seafood paella while overlooking the marina at Bay Pointe, my partner and I have decided, after three less than satisfying visits, we won't be going back, much less asking family and friends to join us.
Earlier this month we decided to enjoy a beautiful summer's day at our once favorite nearby waterfront restaurant. Sadly, lunch there was a big disappointment as had been the dinners during our previous two visits. This visit, a friend and I both ordered the New England Fried Platter, made to order with clams and schrod. My partner chose the Hot Prime Rib Sandwich. We all were far less than pleased with our selections. The fried platters each contained just four fried clams in a tasteless batter and the pieces of schrod were no better than what one might expect from a grocery store frozen food item. The hot prime rib sandwich consisted of shaved pieces of unappetizing gray meat, not even luke warm. Only the french fries were up to par.
When the waitress came to clear away our less than half-eaten plates, she didn't even bother to ask if we wanted to take anything home or inquire if we had any problem with our meals. Perhaps she had become accustomed to so much food going back to the kitchen.
To be honest, when we arrived the dining room was filled near to capacity with animated patrons. Perhaps the restaurant's lovely location is the real draw or, like us, regulars kept going back with the hope that the restaurant would return to its old standard of delivering generous portions of fresh, perfectly seasoned, flawlessly cooked, seafood, beef and sides. We just won't be among them anymore.

We are long time fans of Bay Pointe + all restaurants within the Hynes Restaurant Group but want to give another shout out to Bay Pointe for their outstanding catering! We usually dine in with the restaurants so this was our first time ordering catering and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Food tasted so good (as always), portions were bigger than expected, everything was correct and ready on-time, super accommodating and generous. Will be using them again for catering and highly recommend !!

On our recent trip to Boston, my wife, two of her brothers and I dined at Bay Pointe in Quincy, Ma.
For appetizers we had a couple of clam chowders, which were good. My brother in law ordered the mussels. He enjoyed them.
My wife had the beef tips, which was sirloin tips in a marinade. She thought it was very good.
At my brother in law's suggestion, three of us had the Valencian seafood paella, which consisted of mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, chorizo, peppers, peas, onions, squash and over spiced rice. The chorizo and the spices gave the dish just enough heat. The portion was huge, so we had leftovers. My only complaint was that the mussels were a bit chewy for my taste. Otherwise, it was excellent.
Nice atmosphere. I Recommend it.

The positive points go for the venue of the restaurant with its good views. Also, our server Angel was a very considerate and warm person who tried his best to help us with our dietary issues. However, the food is really not what I looked forward to. The steak was literally burnt and I am surprised how they even thought of serving it to us in that way. Worse still was the paella which was a mashed-up paste. The saving grace was the peanut butter ice cream.
