Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located on Hwy 21 near Necedah, WI. A Tiny, plain looking building on the outside, but what a surprise! First visit and did not know what to expect. A little dark- first impression, but friendly welcome. Lots of people at the bar enjoying themselves with a cold drink and lunch. Group in dining area placing their orders. We sat down, short wait, gave waiter our order and enjoyed a beer while we were waiting. Food was worth waiting for! Hubby ordered Broasted Chicken and I the Perch Fish Fry. We shared half of each other's platter so we could both taste the Chicken and Fish. 4 piece crispy Chicken, Broasted potatoes, creamy cole slaw and fresh roll. 2 xtra large pieces of crispy brown perch with abundant bowl of fries and slaw and dinner roll. Homemade tarter sauce was excellent. Lots of good hot food! WE WILL CERTAINLY BE BACK SOON! They have a mixed menu of soup, sandwiches and burgers, steaks, fish, chicken ,chops and even Liver and onions. Fits all tastes. Reasonable prices. So glad we found them.

small bar/restaurant we had the broasted chicken and shrimp, the shrimp was very meaty and the broasted chicken had great flavor and juicy coleslaw was very good and even the French fries hit the spot... large portions you won't go hungry. service was ok since it was the cook who took our order... we also tried their Friday night fish fry and that also was very good

Great food. Try the broasted chicken made to order. Have a cold bear while you wait the 20 or so minutes and hang out with the local crew, because the place is always busy. Be prepared to run into a few bikers, a couple of locals using some colorful language, and some of the best cole slaw you have ever eaten. You are a few miles east of the Necedah Wildlife Refuge where you can spot Whooping Cranes during the spring and summer breeding season. A few miles to the west is a turn out to the damn on the Wisconsin River which is loaded with Bald Eagles during the winter. Its worth the trip.

Seems to be a popular stop with locals for food. Lots of food being served and looked really good. Beer was cold. Place is not a super club, but good service and nice friendly folks.

Forget the tortillas, folks, and have a taco made right on Taco Tuesdays at Roadhouse. Emmy's fry bread tacos make you wish there was more than one Tuesday in a week. Light, crisp, with a slight chewiness, and not greasy whatsoever. The meat and fresh toppings marry it all together insuring that you'll be a member of the clean plate club! One will fill you right up without without the need for any sides.
The broasted chicken is the best to be found.
Ribs are a rarity on the menu, but when they are ... oh, man!!!
Locals and visitors of all ages and backgrounds routinely stop in for some of the best food around.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the hotel we stayed at while visiting Necedah. We were pleasantly surprised by the good quality of their burgers and the very low prices given the good food. There is also a bar that is part of the restaurant and it appeared to be popular on a Friday night. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, a local restaurant, rather than a nationwide chain.
I had the burger with sauteed mushrooms with side order of coleslaw and fries and everything was pretty good. The menu inlcudes a variety of appetizers, steaks, chiccken and fried fish.
My only complaint is that they did not have any desserts. I would return to this restaurant if visiting Necedah again.

We did not actually eat here. Several local people we talked to told us to avoid this place. It is a rough crowd, not for vacationers.

Good place.for a burger. We stopped at lunch. All 3 of us had a burger. The waitress was very nice and helpful. A lot of things to occupy your time too. A couple of horseshoe pits and some tables to sit outside in the warmer weather.

Love the food at this small town bar/restaurant. Fork-tender baby back ribs were a rare treat today as they're rarely on the menu. Yummy cowboy beans, tender cornbread, and tasty homemade coleslaw rounded out the meal. The food at Roadhouse never disappoints. Weekly special, broasted chicken, on Sunday's (but also served any day) is my 2nd all time favorite at this funky friendly place. Even though it constitutes a 30 minute ride, we've become weekly familiar faces to the owners, Emmy & Dave, and the bartenders. Best cookin around these here parts. 😋

We spent a few night in Necedah so we decided to have dinner here. The place was not bad and the food was excellent. The only problem it seems that they cater more to the local people who come in. Which is sad, because word of mouth from travelors could bring in more business.

Very friendly place. We decided on a whim to eat there & it was a good decision. Fairly large menu with good variety. Something for everyone. The day we were there they had broasted chicken as their special which was really, really good.
Our meal for the 2 of us (with cole slaw) was under $13!
