Privileged to visit the great city of LaCrosse in 2021 again and looked forward to dining at the Water Front knowing that we would have excellent service and and a great evening. The folks at the Water Front are the absolute best and the service...was exemplary. While we enjoy the venue I was extremely disappointed in the amount of salt used in the preparation of the risotto and duck confit. I as well as as folks I know in France would weep upon the first taste. Very sorry but Water Front chef I have to say I was very disappointed covering up a nice duck confit with so much salt. Please step it up and aspire to where your repetition has been. That said we will return and give you another chanceMore

Fantastic dining experience for my daughters 40th birthday dinner. Great attention to detail and planning was paid to by their exceptional staff. Food and location was excellent & the private dining room was perfect for our group of 12!

This is a very nice white-tablecloth restaurant. Our server Kayla was one of the best servers we've ever had - absolutely charming. I had crab legs and my partner had the ribeye. Both entrees as well as the sides, soup, and salad were delicious. Pricier...so recommended for special occasion dining.More

Make a reservation, then go early to enjoy the bar. Great location and views on the river. Classic fine ding venue. The bar is beautiful, perfectly lit and everyone you encounter is helpful and friendly (cub scouts?). Super wine selection, interesting cocktails (I am still...trying to figure out if I like maple rosemary sour). Once you move to the dining room (or patio in better weather) it gets even better. Superb service, great food and a wonderful atmosphere. What else is there?More

The Waterfront Restaurant was top notch from the moment we stepped in the door until we walked out. The hostesses were friendly with a good sense of humor, we were seated at a table in the bar for a beverage before dinner. The decor is...beautiful, and very comforting. We were served by Cole, who was truly a delight. He was efficient, knowledgeable and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious. The flatbread was AMAZING and Cole warned us to keep control. It was extremely difficult, but we did and I asked to take the rest home. They even gave us a bit more! I ordered steak which was seasoned quite well, and delicious, though the mushrooms medley took the show. The Chef's fish feature was so well prepared and delicious. I held room for dessert, and enjoyed the key lime pie with pomegranate. Our wine was delicious, and presented by the manager, who was also very friendly. A top notch restaurant. The only downside was it was too cold to enjoy outdoor seating. Still, the view was captivating and was the final perfect touch.More

Visiting our daughter in La Crosse we hoped to take her out to a decent restaurant for some seafood. We found this place online and headed over since it was not too late and thought we would catch a quick table. 45 minutes later we...got a table in the bar. No worries as we weren’t dressed for a fine dining experience. Cocktails not too exciting but strong. Appetizers were fine but something I could make myself for friend’s night. Pasta was cooked properly. Shrimp not very large and really expensive. Fish not great so didn’t finish. We paid twice the money here than we did at another seafood restaurant and had less enjoyment. Beautiful place but I just didn’t “get it.”More

Disappointing Burger. Visited on a Thursday evening when there was a special on the Tavern Burger. I asked what the difference was between the menu burger and the special. I was told that the special was 2 oz smaller and a different type of meat....Also that they would not check the temp on it. Basically that it wold come out of the kitchen well done. I ordered the more expensive (by $8.00) waterfront burger. It was NOT worth it. My husband ordered the cheaper one. Frankly, other than a slightly smaller patty, they looked exactly the same. My burger also came out well done, even though I made a point of asking for medium rare. That was my main reason for upgrading. It was a disappointment. I would not do that again. The waiter apologized, and said he would do something for us to make it up to us. He did nothing. Would not make that mistake again.More

I would check with them. I know they are taking reservations and also to make sure they don't have any wedding bookings, etc.
