Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family ate here on a Saturday night. The hostess was kind and said there would be a few minute wait while they cleared the table. I ate the chicken pot pie, my husband steak and our son kid's chicken tenders. The food was delicious and the pot pie was the best I have ever eaten. It arrived rather quickly. We decided to get some shakes to go and the waiter recommended the Butterfinger Adult Shake, and all I can say is yum! The food and staff were wonderful. Thank you for an excellent night of fun food and drink.

This beautiful restaurant inside the Greenbrier resort does not disappoint. We visited the resort 5 times in the past year and chose Drapers for lunch every time. It’s so pretty and the food is always great ! On this visit we had one of their juicy gourmet burgers and fries which was cooked perfectly. Then we finished the meal with a couple homemade ice cream sundaes, mine was peach, and had huge chunks of peach throughout. Topped off with raspberry purée it was fabulous. We can’t wait to go back again!

We showed up without a res and they seated us within ten minutes. The space is clean and attractive, but not particularly upscale - comfortable. We ordered a club sandwich to split, plus sides of Mac n cheese and collards. All items were just excellent, with very generous portions … as good as I have had elsewhere. It took some time for our food to be prepared, but the service throughout was very attentive. Prices were fair for the quality of the experience … significantly less than other venues at the Greenbrier. Strong recommend.

My husband and I decided to try a more casual restaurant while at The Greenbrier. We were very disappointed. The service was not very good and the food took a long time to make it to our table. Once we received our food, it was not even something I could say was average. My husband had a burger and the bun was so hard he couldn’t eat it. I had a chicken salad sandwich and the bread was soaked in something greasy that the waitress assured me was not butter because I told her I could not have dairy. The chicken salad was bland and had no flavor. We expected more from a restaurant in The Greenbrier.

We ate here 3 times during our stay, and every sandwich and salad was great. The fried green tomato sandwich was my favorite, and the deviled eggs were also exceptional. Desserts, however, were disappointing. Three different servers were all terrific.

This place was terrible! The service was slow and incompetent and the food was awful. Once we were seated it took forever to get service and our waitress was unfriendly and inept. I ordered a Cobb Salad and most of the lettuce was brown on the edges. I’d have sent it back but the waitress never reappeared and we didn’t have all day. The bleu cheese salad dressing was runny and cheap. After waiting and waiting for the waitress to collect our bill we finally gave up and just left cash. Making things even more painful, a gratuity was already included. Perhaps that account for the very poor service. I don’t know what would account for spoiled and poorly prepared food. Lack of competition nearby? It was a truly bad experience. I occasionally use the Greenbrier facilities and from now on I’ll go offsite to dine. Regrettable and unacceptable.

We were excited for lunch at Draper but left underwhelmed. The restaurants is set in the middle of the casino- very noisy and not relaxing. The food was overcooked and the white wine was served warm. I expected much more from a restaurant located inside the Greenbrier. In addition, beware of the service charges added to the bill- a 20% charge plus a donation to the facility is automatically added.

We had lunch at Draper's while staying at the Greenbrier. They had available seating shortly after noon. The menu has a variety of salads, sandwiches, and entrees. The food was very good.....and there is the ice cream, which is the highlight. Service was a little slow and prices are a little high (expected at a resort).

I had the Cobb Salad and the portion was large and delicious. The service was excellent. Draper's in keeping with the great hospitality of The Greenbrier cannot be matched. Whether you are driving through White Sulphur, WV or having the good fortune of staying at The Greenbrier you must try Draper's for lunch.

Visiting the Greenbrier for the Bunker Tour Stopped into Drapers after the tour Hubby had the chicken pot pie. The crust was flaky, chicken tender and creamy. I had the fried green tomato sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. Hubby had Peach Tea. It came with simple syrup so you could adjust the sweetness level. Last we shared the Banana Split which was huge!

Stopped in for lunch. Wife tried the tuna melt, I wanted to try the more famous things from their menu, the fried green tomato sandwich and the peach soup. Wife said tuna melt was probably the best ever. Also enjoyed the cole slaw. I had the Caesar salad, which had pine nuts in it, a twist, as well as sprinkles of fried shaved Brussels sprouts (couldn't really taste these, so not that big a deal. The Fried Green tomato sandwich was basically a riff on a BLT. Spinach instead of lettuce, the tomatoes were fried instead of fresh etc. I would have put more bacon on it. Overall it was ok, glad I tried it, but no need to rush back to do it again. Peach soup was also good. Just sweet enough it could be dessert, but some order it as an appetizer, I'm told. Again, glad I tried it, it was good, but no need to do it again. Overall it's a nice hotel based diner type restaurant, but that sums it up too.

We enjoyed our lunch at Drapers. I think the fact it overlooks the casino its better suited for the lunch hour as opposed to dinner, when the casino is going. We received excellent service, and would expect as much with an automatic 20% gratuity. I understand such a policy for large tables at dinnertime, but don't agree with a couple for lunch. The star of our lunch were the appetizers. The variety and presentation of the deviled eggs were pretty amazing. The shrimp cocktail featured big meaty jumbo shrimp boiled and chilled to perfection. I do wish more horseradish was in the sauce. I enjoyed my salad and the salmon on top was perfectly seasoned and grilled. My wife had the Cobb, overall a winner but did have some brown in the iceberg lettuce. She said the peach tea is highly recommended. Not world class but very friendly service and left happy!

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The menu is varied enough for groups. The butternut squash soup was delicious but spicier than anticipated by the description. Fries were hot and salty, as they should be but usually aren't in most restaurants. The sandwiches were prepared as listed, the Croque Madame and the Hot Chicken were great. Salad was very fresh. Certainly worth a visit.

We are here twice during our stay. Both times Jake was our waiter and both times it was the absolute best service we have ever had. My hubby tried to talk Lester’s ear off (the manager) and he was so patient and kind. Incredible burgers, sides and peach iced tea at lunch time and dinner was even better. I had the salad with chicken and hubby had the fried chicken. Phenomenal. Finally, I had a peach sundae with peach purée and it was massive. And delicious. Hubby’s lemon chess pie had the best crust he has ever had. In short, go here. And make sure to ask for Jake. I sort of want to adopt him! Oh. I almost forgot. The hubs also had chili which was scrumptious.

No reservations, first come first serve. We didn’t have reservations anywhere so we decided to be there at 5 o’clock so we could get a table. Have a ice cream/gelato bar in front. Portions are big and a lot to choose from. Especially the sides, enough to share so you can taste more! Had the artichoke dip to start with and as you can see from my photo was plenty . Massive twice stuffed baked potato as one of the sides and the collard greens were actually very good . Staff was very friendly with excellent service.
