We have rarely had a good food experience at the Blennerhassett, but because it is close to our home and we like the ambiance, so we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it was another fail for us. Service was a little slow, menu is limited, food is average quality at best. I had the ribeye, which was served plain over bland mashed potatoes. They charged us $85 market price for ribeye, which was fairly fatty and not very flavorful. My husbands pasta was a small portion and quite bland too. We were disappointed in the whole experience because we really want to like the food there because it’s so convenient but we don’t think we’ll be going back until they make some changes. We’ve spoken to others in the community who are having bad experiences also and I’m hoping they work on making some quality improvements soon. Until then, we will be dining elsewhere.

We had dinner here to participate in the downtown PKB restaurant week. I actually ordered one of the rest.wk. specials and my companion ordered from the regular menu. My soup was excellent but my pork steak was a little undercooked. The taste was probably ok for the amount it was cooked but if it was intentional it was not to my liking. The dessert I received with the special was some kind of cake and jam concoction that again not to my personal taste was was ok for something different to try. My companion ordered the shrimp bisque which she loved, the scallops which were amazingly good, and the creme brule which was beyond fine. They have a good selection of craft beers and an adequate wine list. We were slightly disappointed that Chef Yancy was not still acting as guest chef since it was still February and we thought he would still be there. I will know to specifically ask next time. And there will be a next time. Although this experience was not up to what I expected it to be it was still a nice evening overall.

Nothing could top the way we were treated from the moment we walked in the door. We didn’t know they had valet, but we were greeted by the nicest gentlemen who took my coat and brought coat check ticket to our table and brought our vehicle from the back parking lot to the front curb before we were leaving. He was perfect in every way. Our waiter was wonderful. The valet told our waiter we were going to a show at the Smoot Theatre and he made sure we had everything in plenty of time. Staying on top of all our needs. Since I didn’t drop off my coat off at the coat check, I wasn’t sure where it was, the host went and got my coat and helped me put it on. Nothing could beat the 5 star ambiance of the restaurant and service. The food on the other hand was far from 5 star. We had the New York strip with mashed potatoes and snow peas with side salad. Everything tasted fine not Wow or great, just fine, except the steak. It was very low star. My husband had the peppercorn and I had regular grilled. Both were grisly and the flavor not remarkable. We enjoy a medium cooked steak, it was a bit more towards med well. And thin like it came from Ponderosa. And $55. Darn dear choked on the bill for the food quality. Side salad not included with meal was $8. Since it was a dinner special we didn’t ask price beforehand, and honestly would not have thought twice about the price if the food was worth the inflated pricing. Food needs to match the ambiance and service of a 5 star establishment. It very sadly does not. I can’t go back because the service is wonderful. The overall package has to meet together. So, the food gets 2 stars, the service and setting get 5 stars.

I live within 10 minutes of the Blennerhassett and have been here many, many times. I must say, I think the original feel of the restaurant is back. I wasn't a big fan of Brunello's but with the new owners and guest chefs and easing of mask and distance restrictions, I think it's back to it's original loveliness. The staff has obviously been chosen for their desire to make their guests feel warmly welcomed and pampered. This month is featuring a very popular guest chef, and they have been very busy, but our waiter, Kyle, was outgoing, friendly, full of fun and so attentive without making us feel rushed or like we were taking up too much time at his table. Some people make me think of the line in the Disney movie "... we only live to serve" and Kyle was one of those people. It was so refreshing to see such hard working and devoted staff, obviously the new owners are determined to bring back the atmosphere of a first class restaurant. The Blennerhassett is a beautiful, elegant and historic hotel and restaurant in Parkersburg. It's not like any place else, especially around here. It's a very special place and a treasure for our community.

Service was very slow taking an hour to get the entrees and that was at 8:20 at night before we got seated. Eggplant was great but shrimp in pasta way too hard. It was a shame as we were looking forward to a nice dinner after such a long drive on the way back from vacation.

We stayed at the Blennerhassett hotel and while there one night we went to the Blennerhassett lounge for dinner. They had a happy hour starting at five and it came into the lounge which the decor was very masculine in taste. There are two parts of the lounge one where you could sit at a few low tables in leather bound chairs and the other side of the lounge it was a full bar with high top tables. We sat at the high top tables for dinner and ordered off the bar menu and there weren’t that many choices however we found something we liked and unfortunately the service was very slow and not attentive. The bar manager did come over and apologize for the slow service and the non-attentive service of which they served us our meal at the high top table but then forgot to give us silverware so we waited a while until we were able to eat. Overall it was a passible evening for dinner.

I arranged to have our hiking group eat lunch here on a Saturday. Called in advance and the events manager was very nice and helpful and set it up. When we arrived we were all seated promptly in a beautiful semi private room. Our two servers introduced themselves and took our orders right away. The problem was with the time lag between our orders going in and the food coming out. We waited for a good 45 minutes to an hour and the plates were brought out one at a time so that we had several people at a table eating their lunch while others had to wait another 10 or 15 minutes to get their food. The quality of the food was sub par. A couple of people in our group complained their meal was served cold. The servers did their best and we do not want to convey that we had problems with the wait staff - it seemed to be a problem in the kitchen and timing the food to come out at once. Granted a group of 30 is a lot of people but an established historic hotel like the Blennerhassett should be able to handle it better than what we experienced.

My husband’s $55 New York strip was wonderful. My spaghetti carbonara had plenty of pork bits, but the coating of egg wash was not very tasty. I couldn’t see any grated romano that it was supposed to be finished off with. I’ve had- and made- far and away better than that. The biggest disappointment was the creamed jalapeño spinach, on the menu as a vegetable accompaniment. It was actually a boat of real liquidy cream with little flakes of spinach in it. tasted like a very diluted Alfredo. I called the server’s attention to it, stirred it to show her and said “I wanted a vegetable dish” but she didn’t answer, just shrugged. She was a very good server other than that. Attached is the photo of the said boat of milk that I paid 8 dollars for. and couldn’t eat.

The last time we were here, the brunch was tremendous. Loads of offerings and all good. This time, we had a disappointment. The assortment of foods was limited. What was there was okay, but that's as far as it went. While a small notice informed that eggs and omelets could be made to order, no one was there to make them. The service was provided by a pleasant-enough person, but it was the server's first day ("I'm new.") on the job, so service was subpar. The venue itself is handsome; no doubt about it. But you can't eat venue. For $30/person, not including libations, we didn't get much good.

My wife & I stayed at the Blennerhassett Hotel in November 2020, and enjoyed a delicious dinner at their restaurant. I had the 16 oz. bone-in ribeye, with mashed potatoes and a wedge salad. My wife had crabcakes with grilled green beans, and a wedge salad. The food and service was exemplary!

Went for birthday dinner! We can't say enough great things about the Blennerhassett Restaurant. From hostess Ella to our server Andy, the service exceeded our expectations. We started with cocktails and a salad (Wilted Spinach Salad With Hot Bacon Dressing), then main course and dessert. Would highly recommend the Pan-Seared Sea Bass which was crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside. Delish with the olive tapenade. The porterhouse special was cooked to perfection. Splurged with dessert (Pecan Praline Tulip) and it was worth it. Would highly recommend for any special occasion.

Stopped for lunch here during a motorcycle trip. The food was well presented, delicious and the outdoor courtyard a masterpiece, with options for sun or shade. Inside, the grandeur is striking- historical photographs and paraphernalia line the walls. A tour of the history happens every afternoon, but we were too early to stay for it. This would be my top ranked place for lunch in Parkersburg, hands down.

Enjoyed a lunch with my mother. She ordered a vegetable wrap with a side of broccolini. I ordered a chicken capese sandwich with a side of quinoa salad. All were delicious. The coffee was good and we had a carafe provided so that we could refill as needed. Our server Holly was both professional and gracious. And we loved the historic setting.

Don’t go for the buffet! We had the Sunday brunch buffet. My only positives: hotel is beautiful and the cheesy potatoes were good. However… Hostess ignored us while waiting to be seated. Waiter was mostly absent. Buffet hot food was empty the first trip. Hunted down plates ourselves and went up for a 2nd try. Most things were still empty. Waiter still mostly absent. No syrup for your waffle, no salt or pepper, frozen store bought desserts. Bill was $133 for 4 people. Robbery. Do not waste your time or money.

We did not have any food at the lounge, however we did have drinks. Our drinks on Friday night was excellent. We had a bartender on Friday and she was awesome. She made great drinks and was very nice. On our second night of our stay our drinks where disappointing due to not being made correctly. We did not have the same bartender it was a newer girl and the drinks where made incorrectly. The trainer told her how to make it without the ingredients that where listed.
