Fabulous service and classic TexMex cuisine! I was vacationing in Lost City, WV, with my family and wanted a family style meal to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Was able to get in touch with the owner, Eric Canton, through the restaurant’s web site. He was so courteous and organized a meal to remember! My family was spellbound by the meal. We ordered chicken and beef fajitas with all the usual fixings. Eric threw in a boatload of chips and salsa. We also ordered the nachos supreme which were a big hit. And I got extremely brave and ordered the hot wings — beware they’re not for the faint of heart. What a fantastic experience, food and exceptional service!! Got to find a reason to return.

Good authentic Mexican food, all the details were perfect from chips n salsa, rice and beans to entree. Good service. Driving there on the north/south highway we always pass two restaurants that are out of business near a highway overpass, one a chain restaurant, a Ponderosa steakhouse and the other a Mexican restaurant. El Rancho is still there slightly south of town and has had an almost full house every time we have been there. Not fancy at all, in fact, in need of a facelift but the food keeps us coming back and driving 45 minutes to get there.

Second time eating here, was just as good as the 1st time. First of all I LOVE that they have shredded beef and shredded pork options.. second of all, I LOVE that those two options aren't loaded with huge nasty chunks of fat.. we've been to many Mexican places, from here all the way to New Mexico, and this place was close to the top for yummiest. This time I had the grande carnitas burrito. The cook here understood the assignment of grande. But they should call it mucho grande. I've had some "grande" size tacos, burritos, etc before and this one here surpassed then all.. needless to say we'll hopefully be back before we have to leave the area..

Came here for dinner. Salsa was not flavorful and it tasted very tomatoey. Do not get the guacamole dip, all you can taste is onions. They do not have hot sauce here. They give you a sauce with a bunch of pepper flakes in it if you ask for spicy. We got the fajitas and it was so so. The enchiladas were actually pretty good, thank god. The margaritas tasted like cleaning fluid.

We were a large group and we were waited on by 2 servers. Both were friendly and it was quick. The food was good, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had several Margarita's and they were very good. Plenty of chips and salsa. Nice lunch specials. For a small town in West Virginia it was tasty and cost effective.

Good Mexican food. Excellent service. Don't let the exterior appearance fool you. After moving to West Virginia from the Southwest we have been looking for a decent Mexican restaurant. Have tried from Winchester, VA to Cumberland, MD with no success, in fact, have encountered just really bad food. El Rancho was recommended to us by a Moorefield resident. Absolutely delish. Husband had two fajita burritos, chicken and steak, respectively. I had chili rellenos. Perfect! Servings were large and quality excellent, highly recommend.

Moved here in August. Tried out this restaurant in November of 2019. Service was slow even though the place was nearly empty. Food was really not that good. Haven’t gone back since.

Salty, average Mexican, I guess for a small town it will do. Definitely not anything special. There is a Taco Bell down the road. Had California burrito, just passable.

My last visit here was not so good; however, this visit was a 5. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She kept our drinks full and checked often. The fried steak chimichanga was delicious. It was prepared as requested and delivered hot. I like that they use beef tips and not hamburger. We will definitely be back.

This was my first visit to this particular restaurant since it is Under New Management. It has very much improved drinks and food. The atmosphere is good and the service is great. If you want a good meal with friendsand a decent Margarita this is the place to go to.

This visit was the worst of all the times I have visited this establishment. The service was terrible and food mediocre. I believe they may be under new management. I ordered the T-bone steak-medium & shrimp. The steak was way over-cooked, paper thin and full of fat and so tough it was difficult to cut. The shrimp was good. The sweet tea was delicious. The waiter never came back after the food was delivered. I had to go get him so I could send the steak back & get more tea.

This is a very nice restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The menu selection is quite large, maybe too large. The enchiladas and fried chimichangas are delicious. I have eaten here several times, and definitely will again. The chips are warm and tasty. The only complaint is the salsa is watery and not too tasty.

Do not "Stray" away from this genuine Mexican restaurant located in Moorefield, W.V. This one actually has Latino employees cooking and serving. The food and service was great and the chips and salsa are free, unlike some other establishments in this town. If you want Mexican in Moorefield El Rancho is the place to GO!!
