The Inn recently changed ownership and the new owners have made it so inviting. We were in the area for a memorial service, so it was very comforting to spend our one night there at the end of the day. Breakfast was amazing and we appreciated the lovely touches, such as fresh flowers on each table and locally sourced ingredients. The grounds are also beautiful. We would love to return when the country store is up and running, as well.

We returned to this inn the night before Thanksgiving and the proprietors—Michael and Patrick—made us feel welcomed and pampered! The historic building and rural setting, replete with a functioning general store and eatery just yards away—was straight out of a holiday card. Our room (the former front parlor) was warm and cozy and well appointed with locally made soaps and creams. Breakfast on the enclosed porch was a real treat: spinach frittata, fresh fruit salad, fluffy homemade biscuit with almond butter, and first-rate coffee in giant silver urns. And charming and attentive (but not fawning) hosts. What a find in Lost River! Many thanks, Sandy and Bob

The proprietors of this great place Toni & Ted should be instructors for how to run a customer service business. The Inn was immaculate and homey is all the best ways. Food and overall care for the guest was the very best. While the inn and store are old they are in wonderful condition.

We were the last guests at the Inn in November 2021 before they closed for the winter, so we had the place to ourselves. Patrick is a superb host, although he said he and his partner had only been running the Inn for a few months. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. Patrick provided wine, cheese, and great conversation before we went out for dinner in nearby Moorefield. Best of all was the gourmet breakfast, among the best we've had.

This place is fabulous. The setting is gorgeous, the inn charming, the food delicious, and all smiles on the service. There is plenty do around the Inn, but it is so nice it is a destination all its own.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary, and we loved it! The breakfast was delicious! The property was beautiful! We enjoyed drinking wine and eating our cheese platter on the deck. Plus, the mattress and bedding was very comfortable. We slept well with the sounds of the country. We enjoyed hiking at Lost River State Park and buying gifts at the General Store as well as at the local artist cooperative. Ted and Toni were excellent hosts. We highly recommend this B&B!

I often stop here when in the Lost River area. The food is above average for country diners, their pies and other desserts are especially good, the service is good, and the staff is friendly. I consider it the best place in the Lost River area, well worth a stop.

My husband and I stopped in to look around and decided to stay for lunch. So glad we did! The place is warm and cozy and the staff were so friendly. We split an egg salad sandwich and a cup of tomato basil soup. Both were delicious. We were only sorry they weren’t open for dinner later that evening. They are only open from 10am to 5pm on the weekends. Can’t wait to go back!

We thank you for your gracious comments. The Tomato Basil Soup is made from our garden tomatoes and basil when in season in the kitchen at The Inn at Lost River as is the egg salad. We thoroughly enjoy learning our guests stories and look forward to your return. Cheers!

My daughter and I visited this lovely cafe & general store while staying at Lost River State Park. The first day we ordered a strawberry smoothie and an iced coffee. Both were made from scratch with fresh ingredients. We were able to use Wi-Fi which was a plus in this area, which often has very little connectivity. The second day we ordered a three cheese Panini and an albacore tuna sandwich. Both were delicious! The staff was friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend it to anyone traveling through. The shop itself offers a variety of wines and regional fare. There's plenty of seating in three separate rooms. Be sure to check the upstairs loft for a variety of country-related merchandise.

The ladies at the General store were the best, the food was amazing and the customer service was top notch. The ladies were so sweet, and really helpful. And even let us sample the soups of the day, and the mustard, which in turn led to me purchasing some :). I cant wait to return, if you are in the area, especially if you are staying at the Guest house lost rivers, please make it a point to stop in and visit. You will not be disappointed.

The general store has a little bit of everything. But the main purpose for our visits is the ice cream. Perfect variety of flavors and so yummy. They also offer coffee and sandwiches. The paninis are world class. Skip the craft beer selection as it is way too expensive...

Yes, all of the little trinkets and accessories are neat (i felt like if we had a bigger car my wife would have bought everything), but the food is DELICIOUS!!! The bbq sauce they use on the freshly pulled pork is definitely something delicious. All of the paninis were delicious, and well of course you can't go wrong with the ice cream!
