Don't let the name fool you. This is no ordinary bakery.
Servicing very well made Alpress Coffee with a wide range of pastries, baking, sandwiches etc. There is something for everyone here. Reasonable prices for great quality.
Freshest of Filled rolls, Eggs Ben, quality slices, you name it. The number of punters through, just when we were there was testimony.
Next time we're in Kerikeri, we will make a bee-line back here. Keep up the standards. They are top level

Travelling around NZ and this has by far been the best bakery feed we have had family of five we all got a different pie flavour and a sweet
Plus coffees and milk shakes.
So good the Smokey brisket and Mac and cheese pie was a hit with the kids.

Our tour group stopped here for about 25 minutes, and it was just enough time to grab a bite. there is a large selection of pies, pastries, sandwiches, etc. I got a curried fried wrap for about $3USD. The price was right, but after I got it, the grease just dripped off and a bit messy to eat. The service was quick.

I was having a snack and drink with the family.
After a while my attention was taken by the person next to me returning his drink as it was the wrong one.
I then watched the lady bring it to me with the same lid he drank from. She then became argumentative when challenged before asking if i would like a fresh one.
I pointed out i didn't want a second hand one in the first place.
I did however give a star for how apologetic her work mate was who processed the refund.

A steak and mushroom pie that had other, unidentified cubes of something that didn’t look good. A custard slice that was so artificially yuk it went in the bin after one bite. What’s happened to this place? It used to be so good.

First time visitors to this bakery, comes highly recommended and didn't disappoint.
Great pies, cakes (Jam donuts) and coffee.
Gets very busy so get in early to make sure you get your selection. Also do pre made rolls and sandwiches.

Another review of a Kerikeri landmark, albeit under yet another new management for a while.
Generally they have upped their game with the pies, a great range, great fillings aside from a pepper steak pie that was barely edible due to the extreme pepper content.
Recent brunch I ordered scrambled eggs on grain toast, plus bacon.
Sadly the bread looked like a pre sliced loaf, the ‘bacon’ was thinly sliced and fried ham……no, it’s not the same. As for the scrambled eggs…..not the worst I’ve had (a defunct cafe, akin to a chopped omelette complete with browned bits) but it was rather like small lumps of cooked egg, separated by oil….not the soft creamy cooked eggs nor the ‘swirl’ type presentation. Overall rather disappointing.
Please, don’t try and pass off sliced ham as bacon!

I live here in the Bay of Islands so this is not a one off visit.The food ,here, is always top quality and very generous with plenty choice
The pies are crammed full of content.In fact the pies of your dreams.
Good coffee and friendly efficient staff.
Don't miss this place.Its on the left travelling into town, easy parking too.

This place gets busy but the chef manages to get meals out fairly quickly, good selection of cabinet food and good home baked pies etc

Ordered a smoked fish pie, flavour was 10/10 unfortunately I picked out 9 scales and 1 small bone......sack the apprentice or teach him how to scale the fish
