Amazing food with a very easy and simple menu to understand, service was great and easily found a nice spot to sit while waiting for food. Which took at max 10 minutes to come out, very quick amazing food. Highly recommend.

Delicious food in a unique cafe in a lovely laneway. Service was excellent. But the food was incredible. We shared a mezze platter which was a taste sensation. Authentic Israeli and Middle Eastern flavours triggered precious memories of travels. We haven’t had food like this anywhere else in New Zealand. The portion size was perfect for two, leaving just enough space for the best chocolate cake I’ve had in years and a truly inspiring turmeric latte. Thoroughly recommended.

I've been coming to Cafe Jerusalem for lunch and dinner for ten years with families, friends and visitors. It is ALWAYS absolutely delicious. Materials are always fresh, the tastes are always consistent and services are, without exception, courteous but nevre overbearing. This is our favorite restaurant in the Far North. We love the authentic experience.

We enjoyed delicious food sharing 3 main course dishes among 4 of us. We had lamb chicken and falafels. These were accompanied by generous servings of rice 2 salads hummus yoghurt and pita bread. Everything was delicious....a very minor gripe the pita bread was a little tough. The service was pleasant and friendly Wine list small but adequate. We also had coffee and one friend said her long black was the best she had had for a long time! Highly recommend this place

Who wee more than happy to indulge in the chilli dishes, and having four of us share plates made it even more user-friendly than last time.
I think it was a tad more expensive than I remember, but the service was great, there was a favourite local wine, and the food fresh, tasty, promptly delivered and ample.
Yay! NZ needs more of these kind of ethnic non-Asian alternatives, and they're notoriously difficult to find with any authenticity.

We arrived just after 4pm and the kitchen had just closed. The team were happy to sell me a cold beer and we waited for them to have a short break.
After re-opening we ordered and enjoyed some wonderful tasty middle eastern food.
The food was fresh and inexpensive, and we would happily revisit if in Kerikeri again.
The vegetation soup comes highly recommended!

We all tried different meals, metuvlan chicken, Morav chicken livers and shawarma lamb. The meals come with a delicious hummus, salads and pita.
Well we were all making noises about how tasty the food was and we enjoyed every bite. We’ve been here twice now and it has been 100% beautiful with friendly service each time. Great job.

The service was great, meant to ask the waitress where she was from. Will do next time ... also a pleasant place to sit outside if a bit dark and shady. Wish my lunch choice had been so good. There was too much not very tasty salad stuff with six falafal balls (delicious), so I basically didn't eat much, took it away in a doggy box, and made a tasty soup out of it at home. I ate some of my wife's dip plate, but found the pita bread things with it a bit white – more wholemeal for health, please.

We ate in the courtyard on a warm summer evening and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The server was brisk and followed up on providing translation for the tasty Jerusalem Morav. The veggie plate was also tasty and filling. Combined with the entree of mixed dips there was no chance to consider dessert. But the wine list was surprisingly varied for a small cafe, including an Israeli cab sav. We were glad we went.

I stopped in for dinner on a cold stormy night while in town for business and am so glad I found this little spot. The restaurant is cozy, affordable and the staff were attentive but it was the food that made my night. The garlic pita comes with the best hummus I've ever had and the falafel main was delicious. I couldn't fault it and would be happy to recommend this place to others. I look forward to visiting again next time I'm in the area.

Love eating here, the food is so fresh, tasty with great serving staff who know their stuff. The coffee is great as is the home made Lemonade.
We ordered 2 x Shashuka and it did not disappoint (breakfast served all day). The eggs were perfect and the sauce with the fresh raw veges with creamy feta in olive oil, perfect. It also comes with fresh soft pita. We ate outside under the grapevines, which was very pleasant.

One word - delicious!
We had for entree (Burekas) and a Meeze Platter for our main (Kofta, Falafel, Schwarma & Shishlik), and for dessert the chocolate cake and baklava.
We were so full and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly. The service was quick. And the quality and flavour in the food was amazing. And great value for money. We will be back!

What a disappointment! Reheated filo pastry tastes like a wet serviette, the veggie fritters were mush and fried oily. A heavy hand with the chili meant nothing else could be tasted, the chicken was dry, the salad was dry - can't rely on yoghurt sauce to overcome poor cooking. We love Middle Eastern food & this missed completely. One star for being open on a Monday.

This was so much fun. Something about the shared nature of the meal—we ordered platters—combined with the novelty of the cuisine made this a real event. I’ve never had Israeli food before but this seemed to be outstanding. I think my favourite was the labaneh, which we ordered as a starter. Even my kids (9, 5) thought it was excellent.

My partner and I went for a sit down lunch on a Saturday. The place is small, rustic with a pleasant, relaxed ambiance. Service is friendly. The restaurant was busy, mostly with take outs. They serve Israeli - Mediterranean food. Not Kosher.
The food is simple, unpretentious, and really excellent. I had a lamb shawarma with salad served in a pita. Delicious fresh flavours, and the pita bread itself was fresh and tasty. My partner has a chicken liver and heart salad. The offals were cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. For dessert we had a baklava witch was nice but not quite at the same level as the mains. Not sure if done in-house. Coffee was strong and flavourful.
You order at the counter and the very friendly server brings the food to your table. Nobody followed up to see if "everything was ok" which I consider a bit of a miss. So because of this and the baklava I give a "4" rating and not a five. We would happily come back next time in Kerikeri.
