Unfortunately a very poor experience today. Understaffed and things we asked for (smoothies etc) not available. We ordered 1 coffee and some fries. Waited for 35 minutes for fries. order lost and quite average when arrived. Was better last time. Young guy trying hard but...expected better of the management setting them up to fail.More

Where to begin? We arrived at 11.30 to beat the lunch crowds. Despite this, we were confronted with a sign informing us that the kitchen was closed. I asked a member of staff how we could order and was told to take a menu. When...I pointed out that the kitchen appeared to be closed, he confirmed that this was the case as it was 'too busy', and that it would reopen in about 20 minutes. We were then left to sit a a table with the previous customers' dirty plates for 15 minutes - no one came to clear them away. After hearing the customers on one side of us send back food they hadn't ordered, and on the other side demand a refund, we decided to leave. At no point were we even approached by wait staff. Utter shambles.More

COVID guidelines not followed, people were on top of eachother and tables jammed together. I couldn’t even get to my seat because the neighbouring table was so close. Terrible service, food and drinks took 30 minutes, was sub par and I found a hair in...my food. Staff didn’t seem to have any confidence in what they were doing. Won’t be coming backMore

Lovely service, the kitchen was meant to be closed but they were nice enough to serve us lunch anyway :) Good value and big portions

After looking for restaurants for dinner that was suitable for families with kids we decided on the Village Cafe and Bar as not only do they have a kids menu but their menu for adults looked super yummy too! The food was absolutely delicious and...my husband thought his steak with a mushroom sauce was one of the best he’s ever had! For starters we shared the bruschetta, risotto balls and calamari which were super tasty and for the main I had the adults brioche macaroni which was delicious! My kids ordered the homemade popcorn chicken and had ice cream - everything was demolished! It was great that we could go somewhere with a casual atmosphere that both the kids and adults enjoyed and could have a glass of wine. We loved our meal soo much that we came back the following day for brunch. We were equally impressed by the food. My kids ordered the same popcorn chicken they had the day before because they enjoyed it that much and we had the chicken burgers which was recommended by our waitress and BOY it did not disappoint! Thanks Village Cafe & Bar for looking after us soo well - we will be back again soon!More

We were a group of three and sat outside on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We waited for at least 15 minutes before a waiter brought menus and said he would be back with water. Eventually we were able to catch the eye of another waiter...and the water arrived and then after finally ordering we waited almost an hour for the Croque Monsieur toasted sandwich. The other diners were as frustrated as us, going and finding their own water and some just got up and left. Waiters would not even look over at the diners as they did not want to catch their eye. The actual meal was nice but the service was the problem.More

Awesome friendly staff, great food, and more than acceptable coffee. Well worth meeting up with friends or bringing the family here.

I ordered an eggs benedict dish and it came out cold. I took it back and asked if I could have it warm. The waiter then brought the dish back to me and said eggs benedict is supposed to be cold and they couldn't give...me another dish as it would be exactly the same. The young man was rather arrogant and rude and didn't even offer an apology or a refund. Maybe he could take a course in customer service and interpersonal skills. It was the most disgusting service and meal I have ever had in my entire life.More

We pretty much stop here every time we are in Martinborough. Always a fantastic selection of food on the menu. Even in busy times you stand a good chance of finding a place to sit with the outdoor areas. The n this visit we had...a yummy full breakfast, croquet monsieur and a veggie breakfast. Wry nice indeed.More

Had lunch there and had the croque monsieur which was excellent. It was tasty and served piping hot. Lovely chips and homemade tomato sauce. The coffees were also served really hot and very enjoyable. Couldn't fault the service. Look forward to eating there again.
