Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a restaurant for people who enjoy good food and wine and who do not take life too seriously. It is not a place for people who are in a hurry and people without a sense of humour - probably not really ideal for children either. However if you have time and want a fabulous meal with a wonderful atmosphere and lovely wine, you have come to the right place. If you are fortunate enough to have a wine tasting with Tim Coney, you are in for an experience. You may have to wait in between wines while he gets caught talking to others but it is worth the wait. He is a very intelligent and entertaining person and the wines are good too. Do not forget to read all the tasting notes even if they are not wines you are interested in. Also check out the photos and captions opposite the toilets - a great read. What can we say about the food - just exquisite. Great friendly service and a lovely outdoor courtyard setting. We can't wait to return. Thanks for a wonderful experience

Just want to share what an amazing experience we had not to mention an exquisite dining experience We went to celebrate my birthday and I can honestly say the setting was stunning. Food cooked with love table service thoughtful and caring and a wine tasting with heart and knowledge . The food was varied and soulful and the wines nicely explained the reserve Pinot was like a hug in a glass. It was an intimate dining experience that I will never forget wholly recommend Definitely will be going again

Had a great experience at Coney Vineyards and Restaurant. Tim offers an amusing commentary during the wine tasting which makes for a relaxed, entertaining and enjoyable experience. Considering how busy the Restaurant was during Easter Sunday we didn't wait long for our wine tasting, the wines we ordered or our food. Great experience would definitely recommend and will return. Hosts were amazing friendly, informative and funny in a professional way.

New restaurant now called 3 Little Words. The menu is based on themed tasting platters to share. The land platter was delicious with a wide variety of dips, fried chicken, bread, beef carpaccio and the south platter had prawns, salmon and snapper ceviche. Each platter was approx $100 and served 2-3 people. Dessert was a cheese platter. Really tasty foods and great wines from coneys. Beautiful country setting a 10 min drive from the centre of Martinbough.

Arrived 1pm for lunch. Four of us. There were three tables with groups of 6-10pax each, maybe six tables with 2-4 people at the restaurant. We ordered and were told the kitchen was a bit backed up and it'd be a 20min wait. 1.5hrs later..... The restaurant serves platters only. At about the 1hr mark we enquired about the wait time, the winemaker was clear that the kitchen was separate from her point of view, and the kitchen staff were not sitting around. At payment time the winemaker happily charged the entire amount while telling us about how hard it is to run a kitchen when there's multiple groups at once. Surprisingly, throughout that lengthy wait, no attempt was made to alleviate growing discontent or rumbling tummies - a plate of bread perhaps... nor was the opportunity to sell another bottle of wine presented. Similarly after we'd finished, no option of desert, coffee etc presented. Have been to Coney's maybe six times over the past several years. Sincerely hope it improves from this new low. Won't be returning any time soon though. $260 for two platters and a bottle of wine.

We had lunch at 3 Little Words at Coney Wines for the first time in January. We normally go to other winery restaurants but thought we would try something new and were glad we did. The menu is a range of platters to share with the table. They were delicious and our kids loved trying all the different flavours. The restaurant looks good, and most of the seating is in an indoor / outdoor verandah. The day we went was unseasonably cold and we were a bit chilly but they had a heater. On a sunny day it would be very nice. The people running the restaurant were friendly and, even with the challenges of staffing, they provided good service. We will definitely be returning!

Had lunch today at Coney Wines and I have to say I think I've discovered my new fave ( sorry Poppies). I've been coming to Martinborough for years and have never been to Coney's before. A really pleasant environment, knowledgeable host providing a friendly introduction to their wine selection, great food - sharing plates and tasting wines is a great combo. I will definitely return. Definitely worth the 5 mins drive out

Went there with a birthday group for lunch and drinks. A very good menu and the food was top quality and reasonably priced. The service was exceptional and the estate has a treasure with Lee. The wine offered is of top quality and at an affordable price. The estate is set in a magical location and on a sunny day, what more could one ask for. We would strongly recommend a visit.

Had a wonderful experience at Coneys with family and friends. The food, the ambience, the experience was awesome and add to it wonderful staff and a down to earth owner who is passionate about the wines and explains it so well through the tasting experience at your table. Loved it and definitely recommend to visit.

Something special in Martinborough. Coney's offers a "board" with various high quality dishes to share. Large and generous. We ordered two and were struggling with 4 healthy eaters. Quality was excellent and the food creative. Certainly a treat.

A leisurely lunch - what entertainment. If you are doing a wine tasting while dining —- be prepared for a leisurely time - although once the food started arriving we ordered a glass to enjoy over food, then Tim came back to finish the tasting. HIs hosting and story telling was entertaining. The food was amazing, a real family affair with his wife head chef. We started with the flatbread, then shared a couple of dishes. The salmon was phenomenal. And the desserts WOW the bavarois. We loved the wine, the Rose was my favourite. A great day out

Beautiful service and attention to detail. Very personalized. The tasting followed us to the table and kept on while we had lunch. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The grounds were also cozy and tasteful. Overall a wonderful day in Martinborough.

Great service, we all enjoyed every platter, value for money and great atmosphere. Ideal for our small group. First year for us with new owners and we highly recommend it. Nice and relaxed and we will be back for our annual luncheon in December. Thank you.
