This is an open airy restaurant on the lobby level of the hotel. The service and food, though not gourmet standard, is good. The service excellent. If you are overnighting at the ParkRoyal Hotel, there is no need to go any further to find good...food at a reasonable price. They also have a nice bar with friendly service.More

Dined in-house during an over night stay. Very disappointing food was mediocre at best and the service was appalling it was very apparent that they did not have enough staff on duty. Left very disappointed and will not be back

Our fight was cancelled and rather than face the stress of going back home to get up the next morning at 4:00am we decided to waste nearly $500 at the Park Royal Melbourne Airport just because we can. Totally worth it. The Park Royal was...very relaxed with efficient service and after a good stress breaking workout in the small but quite good gym, we headed off to the Airo for dinner. It looks like a bistro at a decent club and there are two components to the Airo. One is the Cafe Airo which serves cafe style food while you booze up and the other is a fine dining restaurant in the same area. There is no distinction in place only in menu. Well, I had the 24 hour slow cooked beef cheeks which, to my astonishment, were outstanding and my wife had a risotto which was good too. The wine list is sound without being ridiculously over priced or elitist, the service is respectable and we had a rather enjoyable dining experience. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and the good old Park Royal delivered a pretty classy dining affair. I have a few tips that might help, though. Primarily, the food is excellent, so keep it up. What is missing is the atmosphere. Whilst the service is attentive and competent, it doesn't turn a dinner into an event to remember. The food is good enough for it to be accompanied by some flair. In Paris we ate at a 2-hatted restaurant and it was one of our great culinary experiences, the Park Royal delivered food almost as good but was delivered like we were in a pub. Please take this as constructive criticism because those beef cheeks were sensational.More

We decided to eat in the care Airo for dinner instead of the restaurant. It’s located in front of the restaurant in the hotel foyer. Loved the meals, atmosphere was great, very relaxed and quiet which was nice for a Saturday night. They had run...out of cider at the bar which was disappointing, but not a big deal. We had other drinks. Food was reasonable priced for where it was as well. We’ve eaten here before and will more than likely return whenever we stay at the ParkRoyal.More

We were staying at the hotel overnight and had already enjoyed complimentary drinks at the bar earlier in the day whilst waiting for one of our rooms to be ready. Dely from reception had also booked us into the restaurant for dinner and we had...a great table on the window overlooking the busy traffic at the airport. We started with sparkling water for her and a Long Island iced tea for me (possibly the weakest version I've ever had - long on Coke but short on the spirits). For entrees, she had the calamari which, apparently, was very good. I had the lamb cutlets and they were also great. An odd entree but it worked very well. She enjoyed her main special which was Korean beef ribs with risotto. An odd pairing but, again, it worked. My beef cheek was dry and stringy - disappointing, considering how well everything else had gone. Our bottle of Saint Hallett Blackwell shiraz (an old favourite) was a good pairing with the meal. The servings were large so we went for a couple of espresso martinis instead of dessert. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, particularly from Helen who looked after us with good humour. We'll eat there again next time we stay at the airport.More

Stayed at the Parkroyal preceding a holiday and dined at AIRO. Great selection of food, very reasonable pricing and brilliant service. Staff are super-efficient and the food was top class. Very reasonable selection of meal packages etc. also.

Staying at the Park Royal and their restaurant is the Airo. Good service and good food. A bit pricey but we are at the airport. We had a starter salad and then we both had the sous vide lamb shoulder - very good and a...great bottle of Shiraz paired well with the meal.More

Although a shade pricey the quality and convenience make up for it. We enjoyed a light dinner of calamari and king prawns with crunchy chips and aioli which arrived promptly and was piping hot. The ambience was quiet and relaxed, tables well spaced and the...service was most satisfactory. Breakfast was excellent with a delicious range of choices.More
