We went to this Indian restaurant again with my wife's family. The food was, as always, a feast for the palate. The sauces were delicious, the meat was soft as butter, the bread was fresh from the tandoori. Superb! Big compliments!! It was also really quick, which is rare. The service was very nice. All in all, a very nice evening with great food!

We were back in GĂĽnzburg after more than two years and had to visit the saffron again because it was so extremely good last time! We were not disappointed again! The food was excellent, well cooked and really nicely arranged, the hosts were friendly and accommodating as last time and the evening was a very successful one!

Probably the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. The place smells great and is nicely decorated, the menu sounds amazing. But 3/3 of us struggled to finish our meals that bore no resemblance to the description. My boyfriends mixed grill include what was obviously cheap frozen vegetables and my mutton was pale and flavourless. I had the feeling it was just dropped into the sauce which tasted of nothing. I’m top of this, the service was non-existent. All that for 75€? No thanks.

After a nine month break because of the pandemic we looked forward to eating out once again and chose an Indian restaurant for our first meal. What a disappointment. No smile or greeting from our waiter and we had a long wait for the order to be taken then a 45 minute wait for the meal to be served. OH and I are big fans of Indian food having eaten it in restaurants all over the world including India so we do have an idea of how it should be presented and taste. The rice was dry and barely warm and tasted stale, tasting as though it had been cooked hours earlier and my meal though quite tasty was also cold. OH's meal had very little flavour and both meals lacked any piquancy. OH did enjoy his mango lassi though.

Visited on a trip through Gunzburg. The aroma emanating across the street meant we had to sit down. Incredible food, fabulous selection and lovely service. If you get the opportunity you must visit.

The food at this restaurant is relatively good value and is different from what you would be served in the Legoland restaurants. However the menu does not reflect what was presented. I’m of South Asian origin and live in London where there are an enormous number of Indian Sub-Continent restaurants serving fantastic food. I’ve eaten “Indian” food all over the world and a lot of the restaurants have been really good. However this is possibly the worst I’ve tasted. You could eat it but it is as though the chef just invented the names to the dishes. Chicken Jalfrezi is a hot, piquant dish where the chillies and spiciness are the hallmark characteristics. What we got was a “red” curry (because it was very red) which was extremely creamy and no hint of heat other than temperature. It was so bland that my young daughter who doesn’t like spicy food could eat it. The Rogan Josh and Chicken Korma also were dishes with lamb and chicken but lacking in flavour. The poppadoms, on the other hand, were studded fully of cumin seeds making them bitter. The sauces that they were served with were quite sour rather than sweet or spicy. I had never had a passion fruit (maracuja) lassi before and was eager to try one. Unfortunately all I got was a yoghurt drink without any fruit flavour. Why advertise things that you cannot deliver? It annoys me that ethnic restaurants in regional towns serve up any old food and try to fob off the locals that this is authentic cuisine. This stuff ought not to be difficult to make for properly trained chefs. They cannot give the excuse of tempering down the heat for the local population because good chefs and restaurants don’t do that. If it’s hot then warn the customer on the menu and offer them some yoghurt if necessary. Such places should not be lazy in their cooking and menu creation. Heaven knows why this place has such a high rating on this site. Such an establishment would not survive in a bigger town/city where there would competition and ethnic palates that would vote with their mouths and their feet. Unless you’re bored of the local food I would not recommend this place.

For those seeking good food after a visit to Legoland, this should be one of the places to consider, definitely. Located in a small town just a few minutes away from the Park, it's worth driving to enjoy the nice Indian cuisine, which is cooked brilliantly and served well. The main restaurant is indoors and is decorated beautifully in a typical posh Indian manner. However, during the summer period it's worth sacrificing the authentic atmosphere by sitting in the outside terrace overlooking the city's main square. The selection of means and especially drinks in very broad, and we've enjoyed our lunch here a lot.

Very happy to see an Indian restaurant in the heart of this town, as it gave a interesting alternative to local cuisine. The place was very busy when I visited on a Tuesday evening, but to be fair the service was fairly prompt. Staff were pretty friendly and you could see they work hard. However the food was in my opinion not great. This may have been due to adaptation to local tastes. The vegetable samosas had a thick crust and were nearly 100% potato, lacking much flavour. The lamb sag alloo seemed to be very similar to Austrian creamed Spinich with a few bits of meat in it. I like creamed Spinich fine but it did not feel very South Asian! The local beer was good.

When you arrive late in Günzburg there are not many choices of restaurants open till 23 o’clock but at least there are two Indian ones willing to work more than German locals to earn their money and at least I can recommend warmly Safran as a friendly place with great food and excellent service (one waiter even had a Romanian wife, good choice), while they did not have my choice of wine in the menu, the house Riesling was really perfect with the mango taste in some dishes; go there, be happy, let your kids run and play in a cozy environment:)

We ordered butter chicken and something vegetables with mango, but the taste was average. For the price we definitely expected something better. In Munich there are a lot more options, some with even cheaper price, and we feel the taste is more authentic. But what was completely outrageous is the waiting time. We understood that it was dinner time and the restaurant was full. But 45 minutes for 2 dishes? Really? On a more positive note the staff was friendly enough and their rice was actually really good. But I don't think I will come back.

I've been disappointed by many Indian restaurants since I moved to Germany, but this is one of two places that have wow'd me with how flavorful the meals are. And their Mango Lassis are what I'm always craving for. The mixed grill plate was fantastic, but even the simpler offerings like the butter mango chicken are top notch....wonderful mix of flavors that didn't overpower one another. Perfect for my tastes. And my wife loved the house-made mango liqueur, that she bought a bottle of it to take home with us from our Legoland trip...since I just had to stop in for lunch before the drive home so I could fill up on more Lassi! :)
