We have lived in Locust Grove for a year and only casually considered trying this restaurant. It sits in a small strip mall near a Food Lion.
We are now kicking ourselves for not going sooner! The
For our appetizer we shared the fried oysters, which were delicious. I got the hibachi filet minion and shrimp, and my wife got the hibachi salmon. Both came with a cup of soup, fried rice and hibachi vegetables.
My steak tips were cooked as ordered and were as tender as could be. The shrimp was also cooked perfectly. The salmon was moist and flavorful. Both portions were bigger than expected. We complimented the dinner with a nice dry saki.
They also have an expansive sushi menu, which I’ll be trying when we return in the near future!

Mom & Pop owned and run. Nothing fancy but the excellent food.
Fried oyster appetizer was fresh, plump and delicious. Not oily, perfect.
Hibachi scallops with vegetables and fried rice - excellent and not offered on menu. Scallops were part of various combination dishes. They were happy to accommodate me.
My wife ordered the Sushi Box and every item was fresh, and delicious.
Beer or wine? Wine $6.50 glass.
Highly recommend this restaurant in Locust Grove, VA

Tokyo Restaurant is a little hidden gem in Locust Grove, VA. The food is always fresh and well prepared and the owners are super appreciative of business and tell you so every time you visit! Best restaurant by far in Locust Grove!

Dry, tasteless chicken hibachi tasted like it was sitting from the lunch rush and reheated. Same with the shrimp. Tasteless fried rice filled more than half of the takeout container. A tiny bit of veggie. This place used to be pretty good. Not now. I guess when you do "takeout only" you don't worry about what the customer thinks after they leave your door.

Great value for lunch. Hibachi lunches include soup. Large portions.. great service. Family owned. Quick service. Can also get carryout. One of the best restaurants in Locust Grove

Came for my son's birthday. We had habbachi and sushi. The food is exceptionally good. The wait staff is VERY attentive and sweet. This really is a diamond in our community.

Came here solo to grab some sushi. Had a couple different rolls and both were very good. Side of fried rice was very good. Prices are very reasonable and this place seems to do great business.

When we moved to Locust Grove I was sad to leave my northern Virginia eateries. And I would surely miss sushi.
There was a little store front in our small strip mall...but sushi? Really? I've only had sushi, but the hibachi menu must be great because there are always huge take out orders and dine in groups getting it.
The server is as sweet as can be. And the sushi portions are good for the price.

As always the food at Tokyo restaurant is very good...the restaurant however is loud and not a great place to eat and talk. The eating area is small. Hope they can expand.

We had lunch on Friday. I started with a rainbow roll and had the Hibachi chicken and shrimp lunch special. The food was fresh and well prepared. Service prompt and courteous.

The food was good and they had some unique takes on everyday sushi. The portions were large and plentiful. However the waitress could use a lesson on smiling and friendliness.
