Even if we weren't staying just up the road, we'd go out of our way to eat here. We usually go to the tavern; very cozy. My dessert was maple ice cream; one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted!

We love coming here whenever we're in Vermont. Reservations are highly encouraged. You have the option to eat in the inn (more formal) or the tavern (more casual). I would suggest the tavern.

We vacation in the Woodstock area quite often. The Tavern (I believe it is called Max’s Tavern) at the Barnard Inn is a wonderful find. A casual atmosphere paired with great service and fabulous food. I started with gravlox which was soooo good - smoked...More

Overpriced food was ok. Service was poor and food was not tasty and very expensive. Dessert was good. If they don't know you they can't be bothered
