So much promise, but Russo's just falls short. Pros: - Nice atmosphere. - Choice of booth, table, high-top, or outside. - Fresh ingredients. Salads consistently fresh, pizza add-ons fresh. - Thin, New York-style pizza. - Friendly people (but read on). Cons: - Pizza tends to...be greasy. (Whaddaboudit?!? Dat's New Yourk!) - Hit and miss on how the pizza slice is warmed/cooked. Usually slightly underdone for my taste. Once burnt so the dominant taste was charcoal. Once asked for it "well done" and got the tip burnt but the crust edge side underdone. - Consistently mediocre service. You order at the counter, sit, and are served. Timing is fine, but you never know if you will be revisited to refill drinks, take dirty plates, etc. Last visit, the waitress walked by three times and never refilled the tea (and ignored other diners' empty drinks), and never took dirty plates. Tried to get her attention, but gave up. - They have a patio, but they didn't want me to sit out there. "We want to give you good service. We might get a phone call and can't come out." Seriously? Just adapt (preferred) or tell me you are understaffed and can only serve internal. - Despite the nice atmosphere, one corner of the restaurant is used as a storage area, and not in a "how quaint - racks of canned tomato paste" sort of way. Always cluttered with boxes like they just got a delivery but hadn't put them up. - Pricey. Russo's hasn't met the food quality or service to merit the price point. I'll be dining elsewhere, and sure not trying them for dinner. This review is for several lunch visits, all ordering the slice + salad + drink.More

W O W!!!! Talk about dangerously good food!!! Hands down our family’s new favorite and so worth the drive no matter where you are. If you haven’t been to Russo’s you’re missing out. Finally we have a place that reminds me of the food from...our visit to Italy. Their mushroom and truffle oil pizza is phenomenal.. no, it’s PHENOMENAL! My husband tired the sausage & pepperoni pizza too and was on cloud 9! I love chicken piccata and this may be the best one I’ve ever had - tangy, salty and fresh! Meatballs were soft, flavorful and airy. Ok but really guys, at this point I had almost no room for dessert.. and then enters this perfect ending to all meals - TIRAMISU. Oh, I made room for dessert! It is creamy, light, and the flavors of mascarpone, rum, and coffee all hit your palate at the same time. Cannot wait to eat from Russo’s again!! In one word - BELLISSIMO.More

Was staying across street at Hyatt Regency and walked over for a slice and a beer. Nice place. Pizza is NY style so thin, but large. One slice was enough for me

It was Valentine's Day evening and we had reservations. Our friend arrived before us and got a table. We arrived and sat there for a good 10 minutes before a server came over, and that was only after I went up to the cash register...and requested someone. In their defense, it was busy and the sous chef actually was our waiter. They appeared either short handed and/or disorganized. We ordered our food and while we were waiting asked (I guess the manager or owner) if we could move to one of the 4 empty booths since every time the door opened, we were blasted with cold air. He said no, they were reserved for the regulars! I told we had reservations and had waited for a long time for any service so he grudgingly let us move. The calamari arrived and was over cooked. The pizza was tasty enough.More

So I’m originally a New Yorker. I’m a bit of a pizza critic and I don’t eat it often because not all pizza is the same! However, I had Russo delivery recently and I was in awe. The pizza and mozzarella was so flavorful and...fresh! Truly made my day and I will be ordering again soon. ❤️❤️❤️❤️More

Nice quiet place in Richardson. Good lunch specials with big enough portions to take home for dinner. The wood fired pizzas are ok, just not my favorite. The pasta's are delicious and so is the Greek salad.

So we’re were in Richardson buying a truck at North Central Ford. Naturally when we got done we were hungry and started to look around for a place to eat. We saw the live fire flames across Campbell road and just decided to give it...a shot. What a great local Italian cafe. The pizza was great. The service was better. They have an extensive wine and drink menu. We sat near the end of the bar next to the pizza oven to pick up some extra warmth. Lots of garlic involved. Started with the garlic knots then the waitress brought us an olive oil garlic dipping sauce followed by pizza. The prices are average as compared to like restaurants. I would recommend and we will be back.More
