Very well kept Rudy's location (clean...actually immaculate). Had breakfast tacos and tea. Only thing I didn't like was bacon egg taco was made with bacon bits, not real bacon. Tea was sweet and service was good, no problems during this meal.

We got everything to go and our comments are based upon eating at home. The Moist brisket was flavorful and moist and still warm and was outstanding. The Baby Back Ribs were packed full of moist and very tasty pork...the best I've Had in a...long time. The coleslaw was nice and crisp. The beans needed a little more flavor, but I solved that by adding bbq sauce to the beans. Although we have 3 bbq places within 2-3 miles of our home, I'd prefer to drive to Frisco to get Rudy's!More

We went to the Rudy’s in Austin and loved it. Their baby back ribs were so tender the meat almost fell off the bone. Not at this Rudy’s. The ribs were tough and lacked flavor. They should have been cooked much longer. The pulled pork...sandwich was very good. Very flavorful and moist. The sauces are good, but even their Sissy Sauce has a kick to it. Potato salad and coke slaw are average, nothing special. FYI: If you’re traveling by plane and you have Rudy’s (or any other restaurants’) BBQ rub, TSA will check the bottle (whether its in your carry-on or checked in luggage). They won’t open the bottle, but will thoroughly inspect it.More

Rudy’s is just ok at the things it considers its core offerings - brisket and ribs. The brisket a bit tough and fatty, with not nearly enough flavor and the ribs are mediocre at best. They do, however, have very good breakfast tacos that come...in a lot of varieties. In addition, in the fall, their Green Chile Stew is exceptional - and exceptionally spicy. So, those two things pick my score up from a 2 to a 3. All in all, it’s subpar unless you’re going for those last two things. There are way too many other good BBQ places.More

Stopped in for call ahead takeout. Coleslaw tasted old like the refrigerator and beans were just a starchy, dry clump that looked like they had been sitting all day. Beef and turkey were dry and not fresh tasting. I know we are in trying times...but the quality cannot slip because of it. This was our first time to try this Rudy's but doubt we'll be back. The value is just not there. I'm being kind with the average rating.More

It is always an option for us to stop by Rudys when we are in the area of one, this one is in Waco. It has become more chain like over the years, but the food and service is good and consistent. We get a...selection of meats and always have some for later. The place is clean and we'll maintained, self service areas are clean and kept well stocked. The outside area is well kept and nice.More

We are visitors to the area from K.C and still trying to figure out Texas BBQ. We ordered 3/4# of moist brisket and thought it had a bit too much fat. But, maybe that is why it is considered moist versus their lean? The meat...was thick and tasty and we ordered potato salad and slaw both were good. With one beer the bill came to $22.49 with Tax. Not bad for a nice meal for two. Being only served on waxed paper and no plates was a bit crude. Eating with plastic knives and forks was a bit disappointing as well. However we are giving it a four for the food and not the rest. The picnic tables were hard for my wife and I to get in as we are seniors.More

I have eaten a lot of good BBQ. This is by far the best. We had the turkey, it was moist and tender, and FLAVORFUL, and the brisket- moist, it was delicious, juicy, and full of distinct flavor. The potato salad may beat my own...and the cream corn stands as a solid side dish of its own. The tea was great and the pickle bar was an added bonus. Their sauce was good without being overpowering but you add your own so that may be the way eat it. You buy your items a la carte and your meat by weight. They give you paper to use as plates and you bus your own tables. We just moved here and this will be our regular place. It was very busy but there was plenty of seating and the place was very clean. The staff was young but were working hard and friendly to each other. The only thing that was disappointing was the cobbler. There was little fruit and the cobbler must have been cooked in the smoker because it had a smoked flavor. The banana pudding, I am told did not disappoint and will be bought “one size up” next time.More
