Attended here with my 2 year old to have a quick coffee and baby-chino before daycare and work. My 2 year old waited patiently playing with the toys from the toy box, which is much appreciated Other people were repeatedly served before us and when...I complained that we had been waiting longer, the staff got annoyed at me. I told them to make the order takeaway - although take away coffee is very difficult to manage with a pram, but the attitude was so horrible I just chose to leave with my 2 year old screaming for his baby-chino. Horrible experience and unpleasant staff.More

We ordered burgers and the calamari as well as the some drinks for lunch. The food arrived in good time and the coffee was great. The burgers and calamari came with a very very generous serving of chips so you may not need one meal...per person.More

FIRSTLY IF YOU ARE NEW CUSTOMER OR THINKING TO TRY THIS CAFE DO NOT GO THERE AVOID IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.I wish google could allow customers to give 0 star then I could give 0 to this terribly managed cafe. It is our...second time that we had really bad experience with this cafe shop, first time we have ordered our lunch meals, took our seats and were waiting for our foods. Then locals came to shop they sat next to our table and order their meal so how we know they are local because they knew the waiters name and they spoke around 5 minutes. Around 20 mins later we saw that local couple received their meal before us and the lady on the other table had ordered the same meal as mine. We waited another 20 mins after that so total 40 mins still no food people who ordered after us they already started to eat their lunch then I called this Thai waiter and asked where is our meal then her response was shocking she said they forgot, I don't know if she think she is smart but clearly not because we knew it was lie as I mentioned before the lady on the next table ordered the same food as my one. Secondly It happened today I order my breakfast and the cashier told me you can sit on the far corner of the long table I said okay ordered my food I was heading there and I saw group of locals came after me I guess they were 4 people then another Thai waiter approached to me and said can you sit front of the window with long stall seats because of social distancing so here is the funny part I checked the whole shop everyone sitting next to each other the tables are even barely placed 1 m far from each other and on the waiting line actually nobody cares the distancing. So I said I will sit another empty table then she said she will give to local groups they may come. I Ordered my food first, paid it first and I came to shop first but It doesn't matter for them because all they want is money. So This shops food is really average, coffee is standard nothing special about it but the people who worked and managing the place are worst. Seriously this shop has zero Business ethics and driven buy amount of money not customer satisfaction. So If you are Thinking to visit this cafe Please read the review and get yourself ready for the worst experience you could ever have. I hope this helps to you all. RegardsMore

Wow, this place really has taken a nose dive since we ate here last, admittedly quite some time ago. Used to be a favourite of ours. Now, not so. Firstly whilst the wait staff are friendly enough, after we'd ordered our coffees they stood around...chatting to a couple of their friends who were leaving, rather than heading to the bar to make our coffee. I had to catch their eye to remind them. The coffee itself was made okish, but lacked flavour. And the "sourdough" toast just tasted like plain white toast, and was served with what tasted like marge rather than butter. When I went to the counter to pay, again the woman who had been behind counter earlier was busy chatting to a customer, so I had to get her attention. Whilst she did apologise profusely, didn't change the fact that they are just not on the ball. And $7.50 for a very average service of toast, marg and jam was pretty overpriced. Wouldn't return.More

On a lovely autumn day, we came here for a quick coffee. There was a coffee and carrot cake special for $7.50. The service was pleasant and concluded a most charming day.

After reading some of their previous reviews for. Other customers It appears there must have been some sort of change of management on how the facility operates. Some observations I was going to mention have already been addressed in previous comments, such as the walk...up to the counter to order and pay and the quality of the Schnitzel Sandwich both of which I wasn’t a huge. The chicken schnitzel was sadly over cooked and not moist as you would expect. I wasn’t offered an option of having the sourdough toasted or not. I know, my mistake but perhaps asking the Guest? Just a thought. I did enjoy the mayo mustard and fresh avocado. The other disappointing experience was the raspberry/ fruit soda. In fairness, the gentleman who took my order did say the drink wouldn’t look like the image. But he never said it would be missing most of its components, slice of orange, other berries etc. Again, I understand images and the real deal don’t always look the same as advertise... maybe reprint the menus so not to have images? Or don’t sell it at all. Again. Just a thought. It appears The Pig and Pastry was the place to be at a while ago. Shame I didn’t visit earlier. I hope my comments are received as a personal observation for a constructive approach and nothing more. Sadly I don’t see myself returning. BEST OF LUCK! Thanks for reading.More

This used to be a fabulous cafe for lunch - you were always guaranteed an excellent meal. My favourite chicken schnitzel was a very sad sight on my plate - over cooked and appeared to be fried in old used oil. Also, the new ‘order...& pay’ at the counter before you eat gives you a feeling of a hole in the wall experience rather than a sit down meal - you kind of get the feeling they do not trust their customers who are mostly regulars. What a pity as I don’t think I will be returning.More

Right on Petersham Park, sunny, nice service with good fare. Just need to get over the bland music selection that pumps like an 80s drag disco all day long. Unless you live for the top pop 1000, you'd find better audio ambiance elsewhere. Hey managers,...how bout a little jazz or slow-cooked soul, or even a quiet room so people can read and think for an hour?More

This had been recommended as a good spot for lunch while in Lewisham. It’s right opposite Petersham Park with no other shops nearby. We were lucky to get a table. The salads we had were fresh and flavoursome. Saw other meals which looked delicious and...sandwiches with lots of filling. Will return when next in the area as these little suburban cafes are great finds which only the locals tend to know about.More

Today’s chicken burgers had a perfect balance of spice, creaminess and textures. Also, the thrice cooked chips and slightly aniseed flavoured tomato sauce was awesome.
