Visited the Picture House during a recent family break. Having arrived on Sunday evening and not pre-booked anywhere I thought the Wetherspoons would be a steady option. The best feature of the pub is the building itself - the old picture house converted but with...plenty of old features maintained - worth a visit in its own right. The meal was very typical of Wetherspoons - nothing spectacular but decent value. We sat at a table well segregated and ordered via the app. Whilst contact with staff was minimal they seemed pleasant when we did interact. The menu was slightly limited but there was still a fair amount of choice and we enjoyed our steaks, grills etc and the pint of Shipyard went down well.More

Unless you are actually looking for this pub/ restaurant it is easily missed at the bottom of town. We were glad that we did eventually find it as we were more than please with our fish meals and drink. The fish was one of the...bigger ones that we have had and we had only to wait a short while and a reasonably busy day. Unfortunately signage within the premises is lacking, could it be so not to have bilingual signs? The toilets were not easily found and surprisingly on route were the condiments with the coffee machine located elsewhere. Obviously the layout is partly dictated by the nature of the building with the clue in the name. Disappointed by the withdrawal of some Welsh Wetherspoon favourites but none the less would visit again when in the area.More

Great service, decent value food. Totally let down by its layout, though. Disability unfriendly access, compounded by having to search for condiments, the coffee machine, etc.. spread out all over the lower area. Those with mobility issues should probably avoid, but where else is there...in Colwyn Bay?More

Decided to pop in for lunch and ordered fish and chips. Service was okay but the food was disappointing. Not so much fish and chips but just batter and chips. I know it's just a cheap and cheerful place to eat but you still expect...an edible meal for £8.15. Don't know whether we were just unlucky or whether anyone else had the same thing happen. Has put us off returning.More

Although they where two staff down upfront, they delivered a fantastic service, yes it took longer because of a staff shortage, but to be fair they are worked very hard under immense pressure, from some very selfish ungrateful customers. I personally would want the wage...of the two people who phoned in sick, sadly Wetherspoons management run the pubs on a shoe string, and do not seem to appreciate their staff. Well done to the team at 11 am on Sunday the 23rd of August.More

Family breakfast, with lots of changes and extras. Not a problem for the wonderful team both front and back of house, thankyou Jenny and the open team, see you again soon.

Rainy Sunday lunchtime and most of Colwyn Bay seemed shut. The Picture House bucked the trend and was open. With Wetherspoons you know what you are getting; reliable unremarkable food and beer. But have to say that the interior sets this Wetherspoons apart - very...quirky conversion of an old cinema. Was a pleasant stop to get out of the rain and refuel.More

Called in over the weekend whilst we was visiting Colwyn Bay. It wasn't particularly busy and we found a table OK. Ordered food and drinks, drinks came quickly followed 10 minutes later by the food. Everything was spot on, no complaints at all. Staff were...very good. Would definitely call again when in Colwyn Bay.More

I have visited many many Wetherspoons and this was not in the bottom third, food as expected, friendly helpful staff, even had 5 check backs, very Covid aware, but all it needs is a spruce up.

Always use Wetherspoons at home or on a day out for food and drink. Sadly on Wednesday last week despite the fact that the limited menu included chips with most meals they had no vinegar at all. When we asked all staff seemed to know...there was currently none available and nobody seemed inclined to go out and buy any. Salad dressing was also not available unless used from a large bottle. Consequently our lovely meals were not really enjoyable. Why was it so difficult to sort this out? Lastly, we brought a lady in a wheelchair with us and although they had a perfectly adequate lift for access from outside it was then quite difficult to enter the pub as there is a table and two chairs immediately in front of the lift doors. This table also made it difficult to gain access to the disabled toilet. In general Wetherspooons usually do a great job but in this instance it was a disappointing experience despite the fact that the food and staff were fine.More

The best answer I can give, is to call them directly and ask what time they're open until. It's worth it to save time and money, also frustrations! From what I can see, via the main website,it looks to me like Boxing Day... More
