Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My first and last time to dine here. I will never go back. The service is horrendous! Never had such bad service. The old lady who waited on us was so rude, like we were bothering her by dining there. Our food took forever. It...was ok, but nothing to brag about. We ordered dessert and had to ask twice about it, because it also took a long time. They weren’t even busy. When we tried to ask about the dessert the first time, they ignored us when we went up to the bar. The waitress wouldn’t split up our check either. They made us all pay together. And, they charge a 20% gratuity automatically, so they still get tips to be rude to customers. DO NOT GO HERE!More

We have been traveling thru Memphis for several years and have stopped at Dyer's on those trips just to get their burgers and malts which are the best. Have never been disappointed all those years. Recommend eating there.

We discovered this place on a TV show, so decided to check it out for lunch. We were particularly intrigued due to the claim that they use oil that is 120 years old, at first this sounds incredibly weird, but it is the same concept...as a Sourdough starter or yeast starter, maybe? The restaurant was fairly quiet, and we were surprised to see that the 120-year-old fat wasn’t mentioned much inside the restaurant or on the outside, this could be a real marketing opportunity. We ordered the standard burger each and fries and was served promptly. The burger was indeed tasty and juicy – could we tell the oil was 120 years old? No….it just tasted like a really good burger, although maybe a bit more juicy/oily. The fries were incredible! Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend.More

No more - had bill...with service charge added - made a remark about the mouse and was told not to worry as lots on Beale street!! Never ate nowhere else on thereMore

Spur of the moment stop while on Beale St. Burgers and fries were very good. Super friendly staff, not fancy, but would go back again just because the staff was great.

A typical American restaurant. Nice vibe. The burgers were tasty, but not the best. They were very greasy. The service was very smooth. Beer prices were reasonable. Pay attention to your bill: the tip is already included in the price.

Actually really tasty food in here cooked fresh to order and a good price too. I had 4 chicken tenders which was more than double what I could eat along with onion rings. Hubby had a burger he said was delicious and some of my...chicken tenders. Washed down with soda. Toilets need attention however as they looked like hadn’t seen a mop all year and looked a bit grim.More

Perhaps our only near swing and a miss during our Memphis trip. I LOVE a good greasy burger but this one was only ok as were the fries. Service was fine but indifferent.

Burger was very good! My guy said it was the best burger he’s ever had 😂 I think he was exaggerating a bit because he’s a little tipsy but it was very good. Now the fries were the best I’ve ever had! Tasted like some...home cut fries. Would definitely come back againMore

After reading the up-and-down reviews I was a little skeptical. Plus the concept overall just seems a little strange. We sat at the counter and the workers were very pleasant. Maybe a little slow with follow-up but not enough to get upset over. So I...got the double-double burger, two patties and two pieces of cheese was nothing short of amazing. I fries were hot and very tasty. I recommend and will return on the next trip to Memphis.More

Interesting kitschy 1950s vibe diner. The burgers were great. Not too greasy served with mustard, onions and pickles. Not a fancy joint or fancy food. I would go back there again.

This was our first stop in Memphis for food. I’d seen Dyers on multiple tv shows about their famous grease and deep frying to finish the burgers. Expectations were sky high and the finished product was good, not great. My kids thought it tasted like...McDonalds. We also had chili that was pretty good with a bit of spice. Despite a number of reviews to the contrary service was excellent and friendly.More

Burgers and fries. It's been a while since we were there. I don't remember what else we might have tried but the burgers are simply the best.
