Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This place felt very run down and dirty. The musicians smoking on stage made the environment less desirable as well. The music was mediocre and too loud for the venue and the food/drinks were too limited and weak (drinks). We only stayed for 15-20 minutes before looking for a better experience!

Strolling down Beale Street, we got to the corner of Rufus Thomas Boulevard and there building on that street corner house the Jerry Lee Lewis Bar & Honky Tonk. It was mid afternoon so we decided to take advantage of the bar and so we went in to check it out. Food, drinks and music were all on offer and so we stayed a while and had a couple of drinks while we enjoyed listening to the band and soaking in the atmosphere of the quite generous size bar where the walls were covered with pictures, posters and memorabilia of that great rock & roll and country star whose name graces the place.

Visited here in August 2017, we stayed for a few hours to watch the show, a tribute band were on and on their break they all came to speak to us as they knew my dad, was a great experience in here as the atmosphere was booming! We ordered desserts as well, I had the chocolate brownie which was divine!! I would recommend this bar to anyone that’s visiting Beale Street!

Stopped in here on a Thursday night. Very light crowd. Band was 3 guys who were awesome and best of all an Elvis tribute artist walked in and did lots of songs with the band. We ordered 'drunkken chicken nachos' Soggy and not the best. Hamburger was below average. Will not go again for the food but will for the band

Food was pretty good, bar tender was really great (I believe his name was Blake) the waitress suggested we get a drink called blue balls. It was fantastic. Got 3. Band was pretty good, small crowd so it was a very personal live show. This was nice. They only had hush puppies as a side with one of the entrees but not as a stand alone side, but Blake made it happen. There was no cover fee when we went. It was a Wednesday night so the entire street was pretty dead. But we enjoyed this.

The house band featured a young piano player who was awesome. They took requests from the audience which made for a fun evening.

This Place has definitely seen better days and could use some TLC, but... The food was good! Waitress Taylor had a great personality and we had what we wanted good food in a place of interest with a friendly and attentive server. We dined late afternoon to avoid any rush and enjoy a quiet meal rather than experience the live music staring a little later.

Jerry Lee Lewis restaurant in Memphis Tennessee is a fun place to dine, but the food selection is not one of my favorites. There is a large variety of pork that is prevalent in this great city. Jerry's music and other souvenirs are on display that is very interesting.

Stopped off to pay homage to the King at Graceland, then thought we should have a look around Memphis. Being of a certain age I talked my two grown up kids into having a beer at Jerry Lees. (who they had never heard of) That was it, had the best time, music was fantastic (It was as if Jerry was there himself) and the whole place was rocking. Enjoy 🍻

We came in on a Friday night to hear some live music, grab a bite to eat and get out of the rain. There was no cover charge. I ordered hot wings and a cup of Drunken chicken soup -Delish! Wings were flash-fried and not breaded -just like hot wings should be cooked! The soup was also very good -waitress warned us it was spicy-she was right... around my eyes started to sweat but very good soup. The band was great and played a lot of oldies. Everyone danced the evening away. I’m sure we’ll go back in during our visit to Memphis.

The music was good and lively. We didnt eat but the drinks and service were good but the place gets hot as there is no air flow, so we left after one set.

I liked it in the JLL Bar. Early evening there was very few in there. The excellent barmaid Bekka introduced me to Jerrys son, & we had a good chat. Would definitely return.

The killer should be ashamed. Probably the worst bar in Tennessee, not just Memphis. I was charged $5 apiece cover. There was no band, we paid to watch karaoke. No one should ever visit this smelly, filthy dump.

Every year for the past 21 years I've made a pilgrimage to Memphis for good food and great music. My final stop down Beale Street each year has traditionally been Jerry Lee Lewis. Tonight, that tradition ends. Stepped up to the door at 10:45 PM thinking there should be at least an hour worth of music left. Was charged a $10 entry fee. Paid $7 for a beer and grabbed a seat. Now granted the crowd was a little light for the first song they played, some Elvis tune i had never heard, but the second he started playing Jerry Lee a crowd rushed in. I'm thinking to myself alright this is going to be a good night and then it happened. The manager told the band that was it, they were done for the night. I was floored, as was most everybody there. Still shocked I tried to speak to guys at the door to request my money back to which I was met with a very threatening tone claiming no refunds. Enjoy that $10 guys because nonsense like this is going to close your doors in a hurry.
