Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very friendly service with a great explanation of all the different coffeas, nice selection of sweets and not expensive. Had haleys comet coffea with caramel, good combination a bit on the sweet side. Free wifi is a good add on and nice space to take a rest. Good restroom

Unexpected find! Looking for a cool neighborhood place to grab breakfast... look no further. I wandered in and the staff is so friendly. The food is made fresh. Great place for a pastry or a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee

Beautiful little spot for a quick bite or a coffee. Both food and coffee were outstanding and there were also baked goods that looked incredible! Located very close to the National Civil Rights Museum. Would definitely recommend here to anyone that appreciates good coffee.

Don't go this place!!! The owner is rude rude and unwilling to serve. He has hearing problems and didn't understand what we ordered and cancelled our order . Refused to serve. Place is dirty. Not a coffee shop. Tables are not clean. That girl tries to do everything at once and wasn't enough. Never ever again

This place is 2 mins from ARRIVE hotel so ideal for a breakfast. We had fruit smoothies and breakfast sandwich each, the one with sausage tastier than just egg and cheese but cheese bagel soft & a good choice.

I really don’t know how people rated this place. It is just a dirty coffee place which you can find mostly in undesirable neighborhoods. The tables were dirty when we arrived. There were people waiting. We took our time to choose items we want to order. The girl was trying to help but she couldn’t make coffee and sandwiches all at once. We realized there was an old man in the kitchen . He came to take our orders. He had problems with his hearing I guess. But he made sure that we were the guilty ones. Rude man. Refused to understand what we said . When we asked what he got as an order , he refused to check what they were. We gave up. Actually I really didn’t want to drink or eat what that man prepares. We ended up at Panera Bread and very happy with our decision. Problem was, Memphis itself is a ghost city. You can’t find a good coffee or bakery shop other than Panera Bread and Starbucks. This coffee shop is taking advantage of it and never appreciate the business you give them. Go to Starbucks for your morning coffee.

There weren't many choices for breakfast that were savory. I had a hot chocolate, but it was extremely sweet.

We originally planned to grab breakfast at a restaurant nearby. Their wait time was over an hour for two people. So, we decided to try Bluff City instead. It's a small coffee shop, so their line to order was up to the door. However, it moved very quickly. They have a HUGE menu with breakfast and lunch options including home made Pop tarts, bagels, biscuits, and a lot more. You can customize any option by changing the bread and cheese type and you can add meat to the biscuits. Also, they have plenty of options for milk type on your coffee. I had a golden Kelly (delicious!) and a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit (delicious!). All of the staff were very friendly and patient with any questions. The only bad thing was, the guy cooking in the back seemed very overwhelmed and frustrated. He would finish an order, (literally) throw it on the counter, yell out the name, and go rushing back into the back. So, it was hard to hear when our order was called. Other than that, we'd definitely come back!

Where do I even begin? This place is out of this world! The plain bagel will ruin bagels for you forever but it’s so worth it. It’s herbed with a focaccia dough, AMAZING. I am a bagel lover and these are the be all end all. Now for the pop tarts, soooooooo good. The Nutella is okay but the raspberry, oh the raspberry. It’s incredible, flaky crust, slightly tart filling with a sweet sprinkled frosting. We loved it so much before we left we stopped to bring some goodies home, and I’m so excited to eat them again.

The pastries here all seemed to be home made and they fresh made the breakfast sandwich in just a few minutes. The staff was very helpful and the coffee was delicious. The home made "pop tarts" and coffee cake which were both phenomenal along with the fresh made sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a biscut.

We luckily stumbled across this place after visiting the Civil Right Museum. The coffee is great. And the gooey cookies are phenomenal. This place is so good we went back the next day!! Second round we got out drinks iced and enjoyed them just as much! Cheese danish, gooey cookies and brownies are all worth the money!!

We had an everything bagel, Nutella poptart, and sun-dried tomato & feta croissant— all homemade and all delicious! Also yummy espresso drinks. I had a dirty chai, which wasn’t too sweet and had a good spiciness. We stopped by again on our way out of town and got another everything bagel and a cookie. Staff was also very helpful and pleasant both visits!

If you want to eat the best bagels ever, you must eat at Bluff City Bagels across from the Civil Rights Museum. We had never experienced bagels so soft and delicious in our lives. We will definitely revisit this coffee shop, if nothing more for the bagels. But everything there was delicious.

Really nice little place, near the Civil rights Museum - very laid back and friendly. Tuna sandwich was superb - made a nice change from the usual sandwich fare on offer.
