Where good food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere create moments to remember...together. Behind the Door …you’ll find a fellowship of sportsmanship in a place where matches aren’t watched, they’re experienced. Behind the Door you’ll find…the best pint of Guinness in Memphis pulled by the best bar staff in Memphis. Period. Come see what’s behind the door….The Brass Door.

Stopped off for lunch here last week whilst on a short trip to Memphis. Beautiful old building, lovely warm chatty staff, nice ambience but typical pub grub food that was just so-so. Nothing to write home about, nothing to give out about and nothing to get excited about. Fish and chips with tartare sauce served in a plastic container. Next please.

We came across the brass door on our wanders around Memphis on 26 Sept. We were staying locally and looking for places to eat. Although the bar wasn’t open, Lesley welcomed us in and offered us water. She explained that it would reopen with a new chef on 28 sept. We duly turned up on 28 sept. Although the sausage rolls were finished they made more and the beer cheese dip sauce was delish, we even got a pretzel to dip in it. My chicken club was also great. The Memphis made fries chips were the best we have had. Our server was Vincenzo or Vinnie who was great, really chatty. On leaving we were told by the barman ( sorry didn’t catch his name) who is Irish that the Guinness was good something that’s doesn’t normally travel well. If you are in Memphis give it a try. Real good atmosphere and as close to an Irish bar we have visited in the states.

Had a great meal here last week. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the online menu featured steak and chips, which I was looking forward to, but when I got there they didn't have any. I ordered the shepherd's pie which was very tasty. My mom had fish and chips, she enjoyed them

So this is a fine Irish joint, but the surprise is the food. So good. The fried goat cheese appetizer was something I’ve never tried and it was amazing. The fish n chips as well. Staff friendly and accommodating. I would come back here.

What a gem! This is the most Irish pub you'll find in the states. Wide assortment of quality stouts and ales. Limited mixed drinks. Predominately shots and simple mixes. Food is terrifically underrated, they don't have a kitchen cook, he's a chef! Bangers and bean breakfast available all day. Goat cheese appetizer is top shelf. Salads fresh and well prepped. Salmon dish was superb! Sheppard's pie worth the trip alone. Irish stew? Best ever! Only disappointment was we had to leave town before sampling everything. You may go to Memphis for blues and ribs but you'll cheat yourself if you don't experience the Irish delights. A must visit in Memphis! Conveniently located a couple blocks off Beale street, an easy stroll.

This is the very best bar in Memphis for viewing all UK/Irish sports matches with the warmest of Irish welcomes. The owner, Seamus Loftus, and his excellent bar staff including Katrina could not have been more welcoming. He very kindly opened at 9am on a Saturday so we could watch an English 3pm Premier League match. He also taught me how to pour a pint of Guinness! The Brass Door is on Madison Avenue a very short walk from Beale St if you're staying anywhere central. Seamus is from Mayo, and his pub has an excellent range of GAA and British sports shirts on the wall. The best bar in town if you're feeling far from home!

As one of 2 Irish restaurant/pubs in Memphis, this is a welcome addition. We ate lunch, had a pint, listened to Irish music, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our son loved the full Irish Breakfast. My wife had the fish and chips. The fish could be a bit more crisp, but the chips were quite good. I had the soup of the day and it was quite good. And, when I got home, I realized I had left my credit card. They held it at the bar and stayed there until I could drive down and pick it up. Wonderful folks!

We were making our way back from Beale Street when we discovered this bar which is located on Memphis Maddison Avenue just off 2nd street. We really fancied the Irish Stew but had just missed out because it had all gone. So we just settled for drinks. There was football on the TV so i mentioned that my team were playing and a member of staff kindly put the game on TV for me. There is a really good atmosphere in here and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

What an amazing place! From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the most fab team who made us feel so welcome and we’re so unbelievably friendly and personable! We’re Irish and the moment Seamus the bar owner heard we were in he made such a fuss and we honestly felt like we were at home! When we told him we were over for Elvis week he even went as far as to make copies of a rare picture he had possession of for us! An amazing bar with amazing staff - honestly one of the things we’ll miss most about Memphis! Defiantly add it to your journey ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Whilst visiting midweek we found Beale St to be very quiet so decided to visit this Irish Bar as you should always expect a warm welcome in one, wherever you are in the world. We weren't disappointed as we sat at the bar and chatted to the staff and other guests before joining in with the weekly quiz. It was a little quiet but the atmosphere of the small crowd present and craic we had during the quiz made for a great evening. The next evening we popped in again for a few good pints of Guinness to be met with more warm hospitality, a busier crowd, and had a great chat with the owner - despite him being an Arsenal fan. I'll forgive that as the sausage rolls were pretty good and we look forward to one day visiting again.

Seamus and shawna lead by example. Classy decor (not typical heme pub Irish bar), Excellent Guiness and food. But here's the thing.......I emailed the Brass Door to see if they were playing my team's FA Cup game on St Patrick's Day (which I appreciate is gonna be a helluva day as it is). Seamus the governor e-mailed me straight back to say he'd double check as it was after all a 07:30am kick off. Long story short, he rang me personally from Memphis to the UK to explain that they would open up for me to be able to watch the game! That knocked me out, how incredible is that? My local boozer wouldn't even take the trouble to call me round the corner if I'd asked the same thing. That is Rolls Royce service and attention to detail. Top marks Seamus and Shawna. Great atmosphere on Friday when I popped in to say thanks. Game on Sunday

This is far from Irish hospitality. Rushed to make order as kitchen wanted to close early. We ordered chowder with soda bread, toast came instead. The Irish breakfast appeared deep fried to death. Bake beans were dried out. I complained to 1 of the 6 staff. He was rude & lacked knowledge of hospitality. He thought all Irish breakfast should be deep fried. No it’s grilled or fried where I come from in lreland. We deep fry chips

Casual pub with good food. The music was at the right level, loud enough to hear, but not so loud that conversation was strained. The wait staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. We lingered for quite a while over dinner, with no hint of being rushed. We had Fish 'N Chips and a Classic burger. Both were very good.

After a couple trips to Ireland I kind of know whether an "Irish Pub" is the real thing or not. And this place is, indeed. From the dark wood paneling to the selection of various Irish brews on tap, the menu, and the brogue of the owner, you know you're back in the Olde Sod. This is a "must" stop for Irishmen or those who wish they were.

We ate here for the first time Saturday night and I didn't have high expectations for the food since it is a pub. I was thinking bar food. This is so much more than bar food. The fish and chips and the Irish stew were really good. A work friend said their bread pudding is fantastic but we didn't have room for dessert. Thanks for a great evening!
