Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were recommended this bar/restaurant by our nearby hotel when looking for somewhere for lunch and a drink. The restaurant was fairly quiet with just a few tables taken however we had to wait a while to be seated which we decided to take at...the bar. The lovely older lady waitress soon took our food order however we sat at the bar for 20 minutes until the barmen stopped talking to his colleagues and took our drinks order. This was the theme for the rest of our time in the place, despite the abundance of staff present, as we had to repeatedly wave to the barmen for another drink and we ended up having to walk to the back of the dining area to request our check. The Shrimp and Tortilla dishes we had were not great and we eventually left disappointed.More

Choose to do a pickup from the Collierville location to test the waters. Paid 16.00 for a hamburger that tasted like a Big Mac. Maybe we will step in next time but definitely will not be a go to place for a burger and beer!

I had researched SOB since we were staying nearby. My husband had the Lasagna which was tasty. I had the Lola Bowl that was sort of one note. Large portions and friendly staff. Overall, our meal was good, but not over the top like I...had hoped.More

South of Beale is indeed a little south of Bealestreet. But do make the journey (about four blocks) if you want to enjoy a very nice dinner! While walking to the restaurant there were various other families walking, eating, chatting, so totally safe trip. Our...waiter was perfect, as he had read up on dining manners of other countries. For us, dinner in a restaurant is about family time, and our waiter understood that. All around us there were people engaged in conversation and enjoying their evening, while already having paid the bill. We had a great time, with great food!More

This was an unexpected delight! We were walking downtown with our dog and quickly realized Memphis isn’t really dog friendly. Where were we going to eat? Pull up bring Fido and search restaurants near us. THEN we searched gluten free. Bingo…SOB downtown was the winner....We strolled there through an up and coming trendy district. On the way, I made a reservation on-line. Silly me, I forgot time change so arrived an hour early! No problem. They accommodated us and the dog. I should have asked the hosts name but he was super polite and accommodating. We sat on the patio where Austin served us. We began with a free appetizer of cinnamon, sugar, chili popcorn and ice cold glasses of water. They even brought a bowl for the dog! Our entrees consisted of pork carnitas, catfish with succotash, chicken curry, and a sexy burger. Other than the burger bun, everyone could have entered the clean plate club. The food was delicious. There were two others who refilled glasses and brought the food. Everyone we encountered was super nice and friendly. It was a diverse crowd and wait staff but everyone was treated with respect. We would definitely go again. Inside, there was a bar, tables, and very cool waiting loungeMore

Found this place because it was a short walk from our hotel. It has a nice, quaint ambiance, good for many types of outings. The dining room isn't huge though, so make a reservation. The food was amazing. Our server Hugo was a gem. For...drinks, my wife had The People's Elbow, and I had the Bittersweet Symphony. Both were enjoyed very much. For food, my wife had the duck confit fried rice, which she raved about. I had the Pasta del Diablo, which was good, and actually wasn't that spicy. For dessert, we did the Jack & coke bread pudding, which is some of the best bread pudding anywhere around. We were so full, we were more than happy to walk back to our hotel to walk some of it off. I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Memphis!More

This place was good for brunch. I went with friends and we had a good time. It's a small restaurant but the service and food was good. Three of us had a patty melt and it was very good. I was full the entire day.

We chose to go here as we were exploring Memphis away from Beale street & were hungry for some lunch. Whilst it was a little more than we would normally spend on lunch, it was totally worth it. We had the blackened catfish with sauteed...vegetables & a side of mac n cheese. It was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly & attentive which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend this place if you love fish and yummy food.More

This was our first restaurant in Memphis! We finished our distillery tour at Old Dominick and were looking for a place nearby. It did not disappoint. A variety of great options including vegetarian. Our server was also super friendly! The only draw back was that...it was a bit loud. If you are looking for a more quiet intimate setting it might not be the best place. Other than that I recommend.More

This was stop 2 on our Tastin Round Town food tour...we had the duck fried rice and roasted cauliflower. The duck was marinated in duck fat, the rice fried in duck fat and was yummy with and without the fried egg that was on top....The cauliflower was a huge surprise. Hugo was very nice, but worst food I’ve had in a long time. The cauliflower app was ok. Ordered two chickpeas burgers and a grouper for lunch. Chickpea burger was literally chickpeas and quinoa. No salt. No herbs. NO FLAVOR; undercooked, mushy. The tomatoes were...half white and hard. Replaced my burger with a salad, which was like a very expensive box of lettuce. Don’t waste your time or money. Even the Pinot Grigio was lousy and even after I told them no paper towels in the ladies room, when my sister used the restroom later, they still hadn’t been replaced.More

Went here for an early dinner on Memorial Day. Staff and service were excellent. My sister had a veggie burger that she loved in spite of it not having beans. The house dessert of bread pudding was excellent! My salad with chicken was tasty but...a little on the pricey side. Enjoyed the ambience, location. Would've eaten outside if there had been some cover/umbrellas to break the sun!More
