Great food and atmosphere for dinner. We arrived right as a band was starting. There was a $10 cover charge per person, but there was no wait and we were seated right away. The ribs were delicious! We enjoyed the band as well (Divercity).

You choose one vd typical Southern dishes (note, a lot is fried ) and enjoy an hour of music. It is the BB Kingclub, they mainly perform jazz and Blues music. Before you can go to your table, you pay 10 dollars pp to support the band. Is a must.

Food was delicious! Local draft beers. $10 cover charge per person. We had lunch here but were able to get our hands stamped and could come back in the evening to hear music and not pay the cover charge twice.

I made reservations a few weeks before our actual lunch/dinner at BB Kings. When we arrived I said we had a reservation and the young lady at the counter just waved us upstairs to a table, didn't even ask the name on the reservation. Nowhere on the website did it indicate there was a $10.00 cover charge so I was totally shocked when I had to pay $50.00 for our party. The music was playing when we arrived but within 15 minutes there was a break - about 20-25 minutes. The food was OK but I have had better. We waited 17 minutes before we were even approached by a server after we caught the attention of an employee (not a server). The table we were seated at was extremely sticky and the salt and pepper shakers were dirty. Our food and drink bill came to about $192.00 plus the $50.00 for cover for a total of $242.00. We traveled from Minnesota for this lunch/dinner with family and were very disappointed. This was to be a special day for my brother who is very ill and it upset me that I made the choice to eat here. Hopefully my comments will help to make the place better.

We went for an early dinner on a Thursday night and got seated quickly, note the $10/person cover charge. The host took us up stairs, good view of the band. Live music and recorded too, it is loud. Service was fast, small menu and drink selection. I had the baby back ribs, the bottom section was burnt, not a char. They were tender and sauce was good, just the burnt piece. The burger and chicken fried steak was good too. Not super expensive. Glad we had the experience.

The music was the highlight of this meal! There was a $10 cover charge per person for the live music which was WELL worth it because the performance was fantastic (Ashton Riker & The Memphis Royals). But, the food and service left a lot to be desired. We were seated in the top section and the tables were crammed so close together that servers were reaching over tables to pass drinks to customers. We ran out of water several times and struggled to get our server's attention to get more. But, the food did come out quickly and the portions were a great size! Gumbo Yaya (7/10) - This was a good gumbo! I've had some that are too thin or too thick but this was the perfect consistency. The flavor was good but it didn't knock my socks off or anything. Born on the Bayou Shrimp and Grits (6/10) - The portion was MASSIVE which was good to see for the price. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and I loved the okra and tomatoes! But, there was way too much broth for my preference. The grits were fine but seemed like an afterthought... especially considering you had to go fishing for them in the broth. Southern Fried Platter with Catfish (5/10) - This dish was very mediocre. The catfish did taste fresh but the cornmeal breading had little flavor and immediately fell off the catfish as you picked it up. The fries were fries... they were good but nothing special. The hushpuppies were tasty as were the sauces but the coleslaw was pretty soggy.

Beware, this place will charge you $10 a person just to come in and sit down and order their food. There wasn’t a band playing or anything. It was around 5:30 in the afternoon. Kind of ridiculous. We walked across the street and ate at the diner, and had a wonderful meal, and they didn’t charge us to sit down.

Last night in Memphis and this seemed a good option. The place charges a fee for the live music - $10 a head. Crazy but we went in anyway. The band playing attempted to play a variety of styles but it all sounded the same - thrash it to death. The music was very loud but we ordered by shouting and pointing to the dishes we wanted. The food was okay and the beer good.

I along with 14 others came for dinner last night (October 12, 2024) service was absolutely horrible. We came in and had to wait for seating, which wasn’t a problem at all. While waiting I sat at the bar and order 2 beers. When the bartender gave me the check he added the drinks of two other people on my bill. I asked him why did he put someone else’s drink on my bill. He began to yell at me saying you didn’t say y’all were separate and wanted separate bills. I told him that I never told him that we were together either so he should have never put their drinks on my bill. He walked away. He returned putting all the bills needing to be paid in a pile for everyone to figure who’s belonged to who. When he returned again I asked why was he yelling at me when I was only asking him a question. He began to yell being very disrespectful and came from behind the bar coming towards me while I sat at the bar. Someone must have said something to him because he quickly turned back and went back behind the bar. SMH 5 minutes later my party of 14 was seated. We were at three different tables in the same area. (Not a problem) The waitress took the orders from 2 tables and never came to take the order from the table where I was sitting. As we sat there talking we notice that our other parties were starting to eat. When a young lady at the table walked over and asked was she coming to take our order she was told that by the waitress that the kitchen was close and that we could only order from the bar. (ridiculous) so we asked to speak to the manager. When the manager came over she apologized and reiterated that the kitchen was now close. We further shared with her that all three tables were together and were seated together and asked how is it possible for the waitress to take the orders and serve just two tables when she seated all three tables. She had no answer just that the she apologize but the kitchen was closed. This was totally unacceptable and totally unprofessional. With that the four of us sitting at the table left to go somewhere else to eat while the other 10 people in our party were eating there food. I highly recommend that if you’re in Memphis that you not eat here. Please select another restaurant that provide professional service and done mind correcting errors being made by the staff. Whe I was leaving that restaurant there was a young man that opened and greeted us upon arrival asked how was everything. I explain to him what happened and he “are you serious” and I said yes and this is ridiculous. He went on to stare that you all where together (shaking his head) as he went to say “I’m sorry. We left and walked to find something else to eat. Thank God for Dyer's and their very nice staff and beautiful service; we were able to eat something.

We came in on Wednesday 10/9 for a quick bite and some good music.,They delivered big time on both counts. Great band, enjoyed the full rack of ribs. Our server Lakisseris was very attentive and made sure we were happy. Best venue in Beale St.

BB Kings is a great venue. Lots of positive things. Great vibe and great music. The $10 cover charge seemed a bit steep for an afternoon meal but we sat through 3 musics sets so it was worth it. We thought about going back on a different occasion to have a meal but the cover charge made us skip it because we just wanted a quick meal. Now to the bad side, The hostess was rude and the service was mediocre (and that is being generous). I would recommend just for the music, atmosphere and food. But if you just want to eat, there are better places in town with service that makes you feel appreciated.

This place is often busy & you may need to queue. We were fortunate not to queue as we arrived at 4pm, which was early for dinner but the service was quite slow but friendly this worked to our advantage as the food arrived as the music started. There is $10 cover charge to pay before entry but you get great food & music. The food is good southern comfort food we had the pulled pork sandwich, which was delicious. It is worth the wait

I wished BB Kings Blues club in Memphis a Saturday evening, and it was a terrible experience. It was easy to get a table, but there is a cover charge on USD 10 per person for the live music. I stayed the for 2,5 hours, but there were only live music for 20 min. The food was ok, but it took more than 1,5 hour from I order the food to it was as served. It is important to check the bill, because we order small dishes, but when I received the check both dishes was charged as large dishes, even the small once were served. The staff are rude, and then I complained about the check a very aggressive manager showed up. Don’t go there - the is much better places in Memphis

We ate at BB King's on Wed. 10 April. The BBQ Chicken was exceptionally scrumptious and juicy with a great smoky grilled flavor. The garlic potatoes and mixed vegetables were great. The Shrimp & Grits were delicious and very flavorful. We suffered the $10/person cover charge and the restroom valet looking for tips. The wait staff were great and the band was reasonablely good. The music volume at the back corner table was tolerable. Check for food, beers, tax & tip came to $73 for 2 people + $20 for cover charge.

Our first visit to Memphis and BB King's was our first restaurant. BB Kings provided us with everything we were expecting. Good food, good drinks and good music. While the bbq rib portions were ample, depending on what part of the rib you received determined the amount of meat you were served. Suggestion, ask for the mid-rib section for the best selection and you will not be disappointed.
