We arrived in Inversnaid late in the evening and had wondered down to the hotel at the bottom of the road to Loch Lomond. They had however stopped serving food and told us to sit in an outer room away from the bar. Not happy with this, we phoned the Bunkhouse and they told us they could cook us two main meals off the menu. It was a short walk back up the road to the bunkhouse, but the roads we scenic and quiet. The staff were very friendly and did indeed cook us two excellent meals from the menu. The food was good quality and very tasty. The atmosphere of the upstairs dining area is great and there was a good selection of drinks to choose from. Will definitely be going back if we are ever in Inversnaid again. Highly recommend a stop at the bunk bistro.

We visited the bistro for dinner twice and the food was delicious both times. There were various vegetarian options and the portions were large and very tasty...great meals to follow cold day of walking. The bistro is based in an old church and the decor is beautiful, with stained glass windows and lots of fairy lights covering the beams. I'd recommend booking in advance.

If going for dinner make sure you book a table so as not to be disappointed. The food was lovely and staff were great - we’ll be back. The Top Bunk Bistro is open to non residents - we cycled to the Bistro for dinner from the Forest Hills Hotel at Loch Ard.

Staying up the road at Stronachlachar, decided to drive to Inversnaid and check out this establishment for a possible dinner later on. Arrived at 12:30 and got out of the car to look at a menu etc, immediately greeted by a black haired woman who came out telling me to ‘keep it down people are sleeping’ (bare in mind it is 12:30pm). I said sorry we just wanted to look at a menu for later, she said we don’t open until 4 so I said can I not just look at a menu quickly please? She said come back at 4 and look at it. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day but really rude and suffice to say we will not be back at 4.

The I Bunkhouse was in a perfect location and was immaculate. The man serving us dinner, I believe Lesley was lovely and friendly with fun thrown in.HOWEVER after ordering desert after mains at approx. 20.45,the chef replied to the waiter “tell them to f*** off, ordering desert at this time!”Myself + my partner were shocked and embarrassed to overhear this.We quickly finished our desert. We paid + left the restaurant as quickly as we could. I have never felt so angry and would appreciate a follow up to this complaint. To treat anyone in this manner is a disgrace.

Hi Reviewer, Sincere apologies for your experience, it was entirely unacceptable. The industry and its' personel are in turmoil just now as I am sure you are aware. This has been dealt with in an appropriate and effective manner. It will not happen again. We are so sorry. Kindest wishes Inversnaid Bunkhouse

Really good artisan food. There is a fantastic new chef there now, so try the specials as they really know how to cook, and how to combine flavours. The atmosphere was great, there’s a dining space and a comfy lounge space, where folk who had been walking all day can sit and chat to other folk, and there is a really friendly welcoming atmosphere. The apple crumble was great. We had a really lovely meal there and are looking forward to going back. It’s a great place to have a meal and spend an evening.

Loved the location of this Bunk House, felt like a real achievement climbing up through the mountain pass in the rain. Whilst the Rooms are a little small, and some bunk beds are 3 stories (a little scary being on top!) the food was truly out of this world. The venison stew had incredible flavours and the portion sizes were great after a 22 mile hike. We had a mix of mains and my friend couldn’t manage her linguine, that lasted about 5 mins before everyone dug in. My only feedback was the apple crumble needed to have been in a bigger dish, with full size apple pieces as it was a little mushy. The crumble part was great.

Didn’t expect that. What a brilliant place! They did dinner for 12 of us on a busy night. Exactly the kind of food and beer you need after a long walk. Big portions, excellent haggis, venison stew and dumplings I could have eaten again if I’d not eaten my own body weight already. Made every one of us very happy. Thanks.

Camped here during my west highland way trip. Great set up with good facilities. The food was excellent and a great selection of drinks. The staff were superb and when they found out I was doing my walk for charity they even gave me a donation. Worth noting that they offer a pick up service from Inversnaid pier as the bunkhouse is a mile off the way.

Came here for the restaurant. The owners made an effort to accommodate us on short notice, for which we are grateful. We had dinner here on our way to Loch Arklet Guest House. Good vegan options, and good service too, with nice atmosphere. A bit pricey for what it is. The curry was a bit tasteless.

Brilliant hostel! The staff were lovely and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Although the showers are outside they are very nice. The restaurant upstairs is stellar and overall value for money on the stay was very good compared to other places on the West Highland Way! I would recommend to stay here over the inversnaid hotel any day!

Stayed for 1 night when doing the west highland way. Picked up from loch side within 5 minutes of ringing to say we were there. Once at bunkhouse it was like entering into a place of tranquility with quirkiness and everyone was so helpful and friendly. Evening meal was excellent and we all struggled to eat the huge portions. The whole place is amazing and well run and nothing is a bother or too much trouble to them. Keep up the good work and we hope to visit again

We stayed at the bunkhouse as part of our West Highland Way hike. Be aware that the hotel is 800 meters uphill from the WHW. The hotel is very nice and build inside an old church which is kindda fun. The rooms are bunkhouse style (a bed) and bathroom is shared with the other guests. Prices are fair and the food (both dinner and breakfast) was great and plentiful. The hotel also have a good selection of craftsbeer! The hotel is small and fills up quickly in the high season so book in advance!

We stayed here as a group of 8 on our second night of the West Highland Way. Clean, basic accommodation - all we needed for an overnight stay. Staff were lovely, especially with giving us a lift up from the bottom of the hill. The restaurant area is beautiful. As a converted church, it still has the old stained glass windows and other features. Dinner was delicious, special mention for the venison stew, which was amazing. There is a shared shower block, which is a portakabin outside, which was clean and spacious. They provide a packed lunch to take with you for £6.
