Stayed 2 nights and ate here 3 times! Fresh, locally sourced food cooked and presented really well. Staff were welcoming and gave us great advice on local places to visit, which made our short trip even better.
We ate here on the first night of our week long trip along the NC500 (staying in the Shieldag Camping & Caravan site, a few minutes walk away). It's a very peaceful spot, very friendly and welcoming, and with lovely views - and an excellent...seafood platter. Thoroughly recommend it - and worth booking to avoid disappointment.More
We were having a day off from walking and wanted something local to eat for lunch (and having been very disappointed by our previous dinner in Kinlochewe) and happened upon the Hotel/Bar in Shieldaig. (We looked at Nannys but the menu didn't offer chips!). We...had the traditional chowder with fresh bread & butter, and the rosemary-fried chips. The chowder was fantastic and the chips were proper hot & crispy, just what you'd hope for from a decent pub. The staff were very friendly and we had superb views eating at the benches opposite the bar.More
My husband and I came to Sheildaig with friends last year and decided to book again with our camper. We ate here two nights and the menu didn’t disappoint. I had a good selection being vegan and it was absolutely delicious. Friendly staff, lovely locals...and great food. We will definitely be going back!More
Cracking little bar in the most beautiful little place called Sheildiag. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, my wife had a lovely vegan dish and I had a burger, both were very good. Going back tomorrow as we are here...for two nights and can’t wait.More
Visited for lunch Friday 22nd April and had the most perfect lunch. Sat outside on the terrace in 15 degrees with cloudless sky. Local langoustines to start followed by massive scallops. All cooked to perfection. Really nice people too. Well done them
Managed to get a small table in the bar as we had the dog with us. Dogs are not allowed upstairs in the restaurant. We ordered the seafood platter to share which was perfect. Super friendly staff, we stayed into the night and had wonderful...chats with the locals. So happy we managed to get a table!More
