What a joy it was to find this pub.
To be honest it didn't take us long because it was there looking very nice and smart on the road opposite where we were staying and we thought, 'Oh, a pub near our very average hotel'....Then when you go in, there are two terraces, great music playing - never expected to hear Laura Mvula singing out while sat under the ancient tree on the back terrace, the history of which I never found out about but next year I'll ask because definitely coming back to Jersey - and it is all lovely, it's more than amazing!
If finding such a lovely place wasn't enough, there is one member of staff who made it for us. Tall, slim, dark hair, and I can't remember his name! But we went in quite consistently and he was a star and made us feel so very welcome. Thank you!
It maybe is a bit of a lift pricewise but why not? Compared to other places around Le Dicq (snigger - I am a kid at heart) it has a very modern and upbeat younger feel and if you are staying nearby and more GenX than Boomer, it's a great spot. Nothing else matched it nearby.More
Down by the sea shore overlooking the beach. Great location. Nice modern feel to the dining room. Attentive staff good wine & beer.
The tacos we had were very very good. The fish & chips and the gaming egg & chips not so great ....My gammon was over cooked, the chips in the top of the container were ok the chips in the middle & bottom wet scraggy and not what I expect.More
We went in to politely ask if they sold cans of pepsi or coca cola it was after 9pm and the man (server( aggressively said no (lies) as they were behind the bar. Foods not good there whenever I have been and this jobsworth bartender...trying to quote the law of selling cans of soft drink is laughable. Will never step foot in there again and can see why it's empty on a Friday night if the staff are turning away paying customers.More
As always, the food and service was great when we came to eat at the White Horse. The steak was absolutely delicious - very well flavoured and cooked. The fish and chips were really nice. We could see the kitchen from our seats and the...care that went in to making sure the meals came out great. One of our favourite places to eat and will definitely be booking again when we next visit the island.More
Me and my partner dined here and the food was lovely, great portions and value for your money, great customer service as was worried about this due to the other reviews but with ourselves can’t fault the place, service or food
After being told that they were not serving food in outside area or bar The White Horse Staff continued to serve food to other customers. On questioning this they stated they could serve us starters in the outside area. After spending £50 on starters I...again queried why other customers who were also sitting in the outside area were being served their choices from the main menu. Although the same round of drinks was purchased at each round the staff charged different extortionate amounts. No receipts were provided and this was again questioned. They then refused to serve me and my family. And became personal to me referring g to me as the tall one. We spent quite a few hundred pound there as a family of six to be treated with appalling customer service, ripped off and insulted. I would definitely not recommend The White Horse Jersey. Training is required in honesty and good customer service. Additionally no money was refunded def or receipts given even thou overcharges had been committed by themMore
