My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite with our son before his Christmas Social dance. We were limited on time and were very pleased with how quickly we were greeted, sat, orders placed, and food delivered. Robert took care of us and ensured we had everything we needed. I love a good rib eye and had bad experiences at two high end restaurants in town during the previous weeks. The chef at Salt and Marrow made it to perfection and subsequently made me very happy. We will be back often!

Went with friends to try this restaurant and were delighted we did. We arrived for a 5:45 reservation and were someone concerned since there was almost no one in the restaurant. When we left, it had filled up a bit more but is was a long way from packed. It was early and a Wednesday and I bet later in the week it gets much busier. Adrian was the most delightful server and made several recommendations. I started with roasted beets that were quite tasty and my wife had a small wedge salad she enjoyed.She ordered a tomahawk pork chop that was scrumptious and I could not finish all my delicious shrimp and grits.The couple we dined with also had a small wedge and shrimp and grits. We loved the atmosphere and will go back. It was an overall enjoyable experience.

Amazing experience. Everything was delightful except the kankan chop that replaced the tomahawk chop that was delicious. We had halibut, ribeye, chicken, and chop. We ordered all 4 deserts and played musical dessert passing them around the table. All were delicious.

I made reservations at this restaurant a month in advance and tailored our day to cater to the 8:15pm reservation. The girlfriend and I took the time to get dressed to the nines and made sure we were on time to the restaurant. Once we were seated, no one addressed our presence for at least ten minutes. Once someone finally did, we were served warm water and two rolls you could have taken from a buffet. Ten more minutes later we were finally approached by a waiter. We put in our order for drinks and an appetizer of broiled oysters. The drinks came out pretty quick but that was it. Twenty minutes later and no food, no one has checked on us. Had to flag the waiter down and we had to remind him of what we ordered. He said it would he right out. THIRTY minutes later we gave up, flagged down the closest waiter and asked to pay for our drinks and leave. As we are speaking to the manager, the couple that had been seated after us had thier entrees given to them. We were offered a gift card but we wont be coming back. At least we didnt have to pay for our drinks. I am writing this in a three piece suit at the BBQ joint next door. The service and food is amazing.

We were excited to celebrate a friends birthday. We got dressed up ready for a nice dinner. We had a 8 o’clock reservation waited until 820 to be seated. No biggie we understand. We had a party of five and ordered alcoholic beverages, it took 40 minutes for our drinks to come and 2 of them were not what we had ordered. Still we remained calm, giving the staff a chance to redeem themselves. Our small plates came out an hour after being seated and they were cooked well. Our entrees took even longer, and the birthday girl never received her entree after everyone had been served. The waitress quickly put her order in for the second time. As we ate, the shrimp and grits were bland. My friend had the Cornish hen and it was red and pink throughout. Finally the birthday girls food arrived, she ordered the swordfish. She tried to cut through it and it was tough. She sawed through the middle and it was still frozen. That was the last straw! We asked for a manager. Lakeisha the manager arrived and listened and saw the rawness of the food and said she would discount our meal and not charge for the raw food. When the tickets arrive no change had been made and they added 20% gratuity for a large party (6 or more guest) we had only five people. We brought that to their attention. They said they would correct it. The ticket then came back with the proper adjustments for the raw food but the gratuity was now changed to a service charge! Wth???? Finally before we were about to leave we asked our waitress for a lighter to light the candle to a birthday cake we had brought. Her response was “I ain’t got one.” Could the service have been any worse…. Lord it was TERRIBLE! The bar back ended up giving us matches so we could at least sing happy birthday. We asked to speak to Lakeisha the manager again, she came to us so insincere and seemed irritable. We were over it paid and left. I was soooooo upset about this encounter I called again in the morning and Salome the the executive chef Dominic, he is the only person who took accountability for the horrible experience and told me to bring in my ticket for a full refund! I am waiting for it to be refunded to my card. Hopefully that will not be an issue in the coming days. Please be aware of this horrible service and health concerning consumption of potentially raw food.

food was actually pretty good but we waited about 60 minutes before the server came back and told us that what we ordered (the special steak, $36) was out and we had to put in a new order. We told them to give us a steak that was close but that we were upset we had already waited 60 minutes. Dinner was over 3 hours because of how slow the service was. Took one of our guests over an hour to get her drink. Got the bill and the "closest steak" they had was $80 each and definitely NOT worth it.
Live here but will not be going back.

My experience was mixed. The food was good but on the spicy side. Now the service on the other hand was very poor. My server, Robert, was rude to me from the beginning. I was with six ladies celebrating the end of the work week. When I asked for a slice lemon, I was told that they ran out. However, when one of the other guest at my table ordered tea, she was given several slices of lemon. As the evening progressed, there were other incidents of radical rudeness shown towards me. The icing on the cake was when we received our bills, I was charged 20% gratitude for a large party. One of the other ladies asked was the tip included and everyone said no, however it was included on my bill. So we called Robert over to explain why my bill was higher than the food ordered ($28). He explained that he only charged me 20% gratuity for a large party, my final bill was $35+. I then asked him to remove that charge from my bill.
The actions led me to believe that his behavior was rude and racially bias which targeted me, an Africian-American female. Needless to say, I will not return and encourage others not to patronize Salt & Morrow based on my experience.

I was very disappointed to learn of your poor dining experience and for this, I do apologize as this is certainly not the service we want any of our guests to have, nor is it the type of feedback we hear very often. I appreciate you taking the time to call me this morning to provide further details on your experience, as listening to our guests helps us in our efforts to improve the guest dining experience . I will personally review this situation with the person who served you and take the appropriate correctional actions. Once again we apologize for you the lack of service you received and hope you might provide us another opportunity to regain your trust and provide you with an exceptional dining experience that the Salt and Marrow Kitchen is known for.

After reading all of the good reviews I decided to book a table for dinner to celebrate a special family birthday. I knew the prices were a bit high, but I was willing to pay it for a quality dinner. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our dinner. I gave it three stars because there were some high points, but at these prices I would expect much better.
We started with the meat and cheese board, which was very good. One of the four of us ordered the tomahawk pork chop. It was a huge serving, and the pork was cooked very well, but unfortunately much of the cut was extremely fatty. Only a small portion was really edible. We refused a to go box for the huge amount that was left on the plate.
I ordered the ostrich. It had good flavor but was tough, even though I ordered it medium rare to rare. The sweet potato purée that was served with it was more like sweet potato sauce. Although it was described as spicy on the menu, it was extremely hot/spicy. I like spicy food ( Thai, Indian, etc.) but this was too hot for me, especially with ostrich. It masked the flavor of everything else, after one taste I left it on my plate with the broccolini that was swimming in it. I told our server about it. She said that it was not supposed to be hot so I suggested someone in the kitchen taste it. I don’t know if that happened or not, I got no feedback or even an apology. On the brighter side one of our party enjoyed the crab stuffed lobster and the side of fries was excellent
We ordered two desserts, the bread pudding, which was good and the white chocolate cheesecake. The cheesecake was still frozen ( I guess it is not made fresh). It was so hard it splintered when we tried to get a fork through it. It did have good flavor, but for what they charge that is totally unacceptable
For fine dining I would expect more consistent quality and execution. We will not be back.

We unfortunately had to book a stay for a family funeral but our stay at the hotel was great. After a slight blip on check-in everything has been wonderful. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful with great decor and comfortable rooms. I was personally greeted by the manager David having coffee one morning and Sam our bartender remembers our drinks every night. The hotel is at a great location with two great hot spots across the street with karaoke and live bands. The river walk along the Savannah Is beautiful. We decided to stay an extra day 😊

Two couples selected Salt and Marrow for a date night. Each person ordered something different from the menu, all entrees were delicious, appetizer of oysters were very good. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful, nice that the chef came to the table to talk to us.

We tried their father's day meal and it was excellent. All father's are returning home happy and stuffed. They would bring out more of any food that we wanted, and kids 12 and under were free, making this a great deal for a family with a lot of young children. Summer was a very attentive server and ensured that our drinks were constantly topped off without us ever needing to ask for anything.

This place was amazing food was phenomenal. I had the lemon drop martini which had a hint of pineapple , the beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and mac&cheese. Our waiter Talo was very professional and knew the menu inside and out and gave great descriptions for each item on the menu. He was so attentive and is over all a great experience

Excellent experience at Salt+Marrow! We celebrated our wedding anniversary and the employees made sure to make it a special event!
The servers were friendly, accommodating, and efficient! The dinner came out promptly and was DELICIOUS! I had shrimp and grits: shrimp were fresh and cooked perfectly and the grits were creamy and smooth! Hubby had salmon and grits: he substituted spinach for grits and said it was wonderful!
We will definitely return!

Our waiter robert was amazing. Chef Tia came over and asked us how our food was, and Brent, the manager was very kind and came to our table and conversed with us. We made sure to thank Chef Tony for his delicious cooking as well. Afterwards we sat at the bar and had a few drinks, and Arnita made the best old fashioned. 10/10 definitely recommend dining here!!!

Amazing Food and service was incredible. Our host greeted us right away, sat us away from a large party so we could enjoy our evening and meal. Our server Mariah was amazing she went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Food, drinks, and dessert was all delicious. We will definitely go back.
