went for early bird , atmosphere casual bar setting with tables, waitress very friendly and helpful. menu items looked great, had salad and oysters, , wife had shrimp po' boy and it was loaded with shrimp. good desert also, great place to go. I wish I did not live far a way, good place to eat.

Bring a glove to shuck your own oysters.

First time here. Six of us went Saturday night. We all ordered a drink appetizers and meals. We ordered a half peck oysters steamed. They came in the shell and the bucket placed on the table with a knife for us to shuck. Not fun. Service was good.

Enjoyed the food and drinks but not the sushi

I enjoyed my French dip and onion rings, my wife didn't like her sushi, said it tasted like grocery store sushi. The cocktails were good and it was walking distance to the hotel. Prices weren't bad.

Wow. Service so bad, I didn’t eat there.

I went on a Wednesday night, waited 15 minutes seated at the bar to order a drink. Was served 5 minutes later, 20 minutes by the clock after sitting down less than 50% of the martini glass for a martini that the bartender told me was a whole shot of gin. They were 50% full and could not keep up.

There are other great places to eat close by, try one of them. Overpriced and extremely slow. No wait to be seated but then 15min for water 30 for an appetizer, meal lasted an hour and twenty. Service is poor, even when considering how busy they were. Fried green tomatoes horrible, too much breading, overcooked, salty. Shrimp and grits, a joke. Shrimp overcooked on two plates. Oysters nice. Crab cake fairly nice as well. $140, never again.

Not a warm welcome!

Miscommunication regarding reservations. We called to see if we needed one and were told no. So we arrived 15 min later and were asked if we had a reservation? We said no, we had just called and were told we did not need one..... now on a 45 min wait? So we wait....at the bar. Bartender was very rude (older blonde)... took a few minutes to get our order, had to ask twice for a glass of water, hardly made eye contact, and abruptly and rudely told us our 15 year old could not sit at the bar. So we got up from there. At this point, we should have just left. Our server was friendly the food was good but not good enough to overcome our less than friendly welcome. Three of us spent $240. We won't be back.

Mildly disappointed

Decent seafood - pricey considering the size of serving. The Mussels, Clams and Crawfish appetizer was disappointing. Way too much broth, the Crawfish so small it was not worth peeling them. Both the charbroiled oysters as well as the rockefeeler were very small.

Outstanding shrimp and grits at Great Bay

My family was at an outdoor festival in Greer when we visited Great Bay for supper. I personally had not been to Great Bay in over 15 years. I still remembered the shrimp and grits. Service from the waitstaff was minimal and lackluster. However, the fried green tomatoes, along with the shrimp and grits, were amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Great down town location, very relaxed atmosphere great music great service. Southern seafood menu with limited but well executed sushi menu. Great bar serving beers of all taste and varieties. Not a cheap place but not a wallet breaker. It requires more than 1 visit.

Not going back

Wednesday December 21, 2022, my wife and I are in town bc my mother-in-law is in hospital to have heart bypass. At 6:30 we walk from our hotel to this place to get a bite to eat before going back to the hospital. The place is only 50% full but we are told it will not be long but to wait outside. It was 40 degrees, but we sat outside and waited......and waited.......and waited. 45 minutes later we left and went back to the hotel. I called from the hotel and asked what the problem was. Was told there is a 45-minute wait. I said we waited 45 minutes, and you never called us in. I got the feeling we were not welcome to dine there. So, we will not EVER. Hope no one else does either.

Early dinner on a Saturday night was a mistake

We had reservations and were seated promptly. That was the best part of our visit. The tables and bar was not at all socially distanced, to the point that it was readily apparent that management was unconcerned about the health of customers. Obviously, the restaurant was short staffed. We had to remind staff that our order had not been completed multiple times. Food was good but over-priced. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere couples an families.

First time and we will be back. Just dinner with my wife. I had the special, lobster and filet. My wife had the jumbo scallops. Dinner was amazing and the young lady that served us was excellent. Just the atmosphere of seeing family and friends just laughing and having an good time just added to our evening.
