Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Happened across Stomping Grounds while walking around downtown Greer. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Went there 2 days in a row and the staff remembered our coffee order on just our second visit. Incredibly fresh bagels and very cool local art on the walls....Great spot. Support local.More

The Stomping Grounds is a popular place on Main St. in Downtown Greer for lunch and dinner. They specialize in a variety of coffees but the sandwich menu is fine also. It is a laid back place where a lap top or I pad is...welcome and you have a section for reading, research or just visiting with friends. Try the BLT ! It is really good. Then finish it off with a piece of pie, a cookie and cup of joe! See you there. (this restaurant is closed on Monday)More

Stopped with a friend who was new to the area and wanted coffee but wound up getting lunch. Sandwiches and sides were very good and freshly made. They were very accommodating for my friend who was vegan. People were friendly. Will return.

We used to be regulars there and loved Lisa the owner. Due to family problems, she had to sell it and then COVID 19 hit and closed it down. It's open again. We went there today and both of us enjoyed a "Cliff" sandwich. It...was just as great as before and the new owners are really great and friendly. A real coffee house atmosphere.More

Had a daily special and they have curb side pickup too. Food was good, as always. The fact they remained open is part of the reason we ordered. We want to keep our local establishments viable.

The employees and owner constantly go out of their way to provide better than great service. However, the coffee isn't as good as I would expect it to be. Love how accommodating they are to groups. Great menu choices.

Read about Stomping Grounds in the news so figured I would give it a try. Went at lunch time. Great little lunch spot with nice atmosphere. I got a gyro salad. Very good. Service was very good. Rumor has it the place is up for...sale so hopefully the new owners keep the good atmosphere, good food and great service. Give this place a try if you are in downtown Greer.More

I came here almost daily while on a job assignment! Lisa and Grey are awesome! Super friendly, made me feel welcome a long way from home, just great folks! And the place is just cool with local artists talent on display and a homey cozy...feel! Stop in and try one of their great desserts or anything off the menu. It's all good! And they have nightly entertainment that covers the gamut! Anything from comedy acts to live local musical talent!More

My wife and I stopped by Stomping Grounds in the early afternoon on a weekday. There were only a few customers sitting around. My wife ordered an iced coffee with really complicated directions (due to the poor listening of most barristas). They listened (without showing...any "attitude"), and followed the directions perfectly to produce an excellent iced coffee. I ordered a simple cup of the darker of the daily coffee offerings. It was rich, satisfying dark, but not excessively acidic. Everything was clean and bright. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the chairs were comfortable. The staff actually followed up by asking if we satisfied with our orders. We certainly were, and the next time I near Stomping Grounds I intend to stop there.More

Today I needed coffee and lunch so I decided to give this place a try. I enjoyed the different flavors of coffee available and had the Greek salad for lunch. Happy to see the place busy in spite of construction outside.

The staff (couple?) was very friendly, and many customers appeared to be regular. Definitively some southern hospitality at work here! It was a slightly older crowd, some families. Coffee is appropriately priced ($3.50 a sizeable cappuccino in a cup) but absolutely tasteless. The foam was...very weak, and the espresso itself wasn't any better. It's not a coffee I'd want to drink again. Parking is easy and the location is 'central' as well as spacious (easy to sit), but there is very little to do around (shops in perpendicular streets are dead and there are few on main street). If I lived in town I may go in and get a very basic coffee so they're less likely to get it wrong, but I wouldn't drive to this place otherwise.More

We always have a great time here. If it's in the evening, we bring cards, or sometimes use one of their board games and enjoy dinner. I've had the pita and hummus appetizer and the chicken wrap. Both were outstanding. One morning I asked for...scrambled eggs and a side of fresh fruit even though this wasn't a meal on the menu. It was delicious and very reasonably priced.More

Out on a beautiful Saturday fall day.... went to the fall market in the park... wanted a cup of coffee before exploring Greer. When a list of locations popped up on GOOGLE, the NAME Stomping Grounds drew us in... and even better, we happened to...be one block away. The relaxed atmosphere combined with the very friendly staff and good coffee made it a winning experience. I observed people coming and going while sipping my coffee. All were treated like friends. They have games, toys and relaxing spaces so mom and dad can enjoy while the kids entertain themselves. There is local art on the walls so that is a huge WIN in my book Supporting each other in the community was very apparent. If you visit Greer, SC and want to go and sit a spell... I encourage you to visit Stomping Grounds.More
