Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had the pleasure of going here on Tuesday night (26/03/2024) with my boyfriend and his Dad. I got the chicken red Thai curry, my boyfriend got the fried cashew Thai style and his Dad got something with seafood and basil.... it was difficult to choose...as there were so many options I wanted to try. Our server for the night was Annelle ( I hope I have spelled that correctly) and she was fantastic, really attentive and friendly, nothing was a problem for her, just wonderful. The food itself was really delicious and the portions were very generous and we got what we couldn't finish to takeaway so we could enjoy the rest at home.... which was just as well as I got to try the fried cashew Thai style as well and it too was really delicious ...... the venue itself was lovely and the toilet spotless, I will be back at least once more... but hopefully more than that and I am already looking forward to it!More

We didn't dine there. We got takeout . We ordered 2 dishes .pad seu with beef and it was good, the beef was tough but had good flavor. The 2nd dish was pineapple fried with chicken. We actually called there because tuk tuk didn't have this...dish (that was a mistake) There was very little pineapple in the dish and there was a spice ,possibly cardamon dominating the dish, it was not good at all.More

Well. We have came here for years. Massman curry- no sweet potatoes nor flavor More on the bitter side. Chicken chewy- not smooth as before. We understand the drop from #14 to #59.

If I had to convincingly summarize how good Basil Thai Cuisine tastes, I'd say: Even the person in my group who didn't like Thai food loved it! (In fact, they called it one of the best meals they had in Greenville.) Basil Thai Cuisine carries...an immersive, minimalistic environment; quick, friendly service; and flavorful food. I treated myself to the best fried rice dish I've ever had. Be sure to take your generous pick of the appetizers as well. They're great for sharing and prepping your taste buds for the deliciousness to follow. The Fried Wontons and Egg Rolls hit the spot for my party of five. (Don't forget to dip them in the sauce!) One word of caution: the spicier dishes can be *flaming hot*, so consider your tolerance before ordering (or request that the heat be minimal, if possible). Even if you're not a big fan of Thai food, you'll likely be impressed with the quality, freshness, and variety offered by Basil Thai Cuisine. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be making another visit.More

We absolutely love this restaurant! The flavors are amazing! We love the soups and always order 2 cups and split 2 different soups. We have been here 3 times in last month. Mai is so sweet and cheerful! I can’t wait to go again.

We met another couple there for dinner and had a wonderful time. Chin, the owner, was delightful, helpful, and very gracious. The Sweet Basil Rolls are out of this world and healthy too. The Soft shell Crab in Green Curry was very good, maybe a...little too much sauce. The Garlic Seafood was filled with wonderful fish and the medium spice was just right. Drinks are very reasonable and the have a full bar. Our server Mai was very nice and helpful too. It's a great place and they take reservations.More

I was in the area and love Thai food. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp added. It cost me $16 and change with tax. I walked in and there were three individuals in the lobby. Two of the three had issues with their orders. I...immediately felt some kind of way. I asked one older lady have you eaten here before. She said yes there food is good but she’s been waiting 25 mins for her called in order. She asked a waiter that walked into the lobby about her order he cut her off before she could finish her sentence and said your orders coming. Wow! That was very very rude!!!!! She mentioned she had groceries in her car along with ice cream and didn’t expect to wait that long for her order. There was another customer who had issues with his order which they were trying to figure out how to fix his order. Okay so now I am home wishing I ordered Pad Thai from my usually place. The Pad Thai had zero taste. Imagine Raman noodles without the flavor packet. Well that’s how it taste like a $1 pack of plain noodles. I asked for extra peanut sauce on the side thank goodness I did. Even with that added it had zero flavor and was soggy and came with no sauce of its own. I am use to my Pad Thai from other Thai restaurants to come with side delicious peanut sauce. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE PAD THAI WHICH IS THE MAIN DISH IN THAILAND AND IF THEY CANT GET THE MAIN DISH CORRECT THEN NO THANKS!!!!! It looks like it taste good and filled with flavor but it’s not just spice but zero flavors at all..More

My family decide to get dinner and drinks here. we started with many appetizer, when they came out the serving portions were small. We then ordered dinner everyone suggested mild, med or hot. My daughter order mild but when she tried her food it was...hot, she told the waiter in which her sternly told her it wasn’t. She got upset and he continued to tell her it wasn’t hot. My husband told him to take it back in which we heard in the back that they had got the orders mixed up. A lady brought her mild dish out. We all left upset with this waiters behavior. He made our family evening disappointing. Won’t go back !More

Sweet Basil has been a favorite of ours for many years, for both dine-in and takeout. Though we have not been able to dine-in recently due to restrictions, we have enjoyed many take-out meals and the food, service and protocols are exactly what has come...to expect from one of the very best owner operated restaurants in Greenville. From day one of the crisis, appropriate protocols have been in place. Congratulations to management on their tremendous response. Thanks! Oh, and just last night while picking up a take-out meal, it was great to see that the dine-in section has now re-opened, of course, following the appropriate guidelines! Welcome back!More
